With all the movies, TV and comics news that came out of Comic-Con in San Diego, let’s not forget that the video game industry was also at the Con in a big, big way. One of the many game companies with a presence at the show was Activision, who debuet clips and new gameplay from their upcoming games Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Singularity.
Previously, we brought you some cool video for both of these games and now, after attending an exclusive Activision event on Wednesday night during the Con, we can now bring you the brand new trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 seen only by those in attendance. This new trailer brings you firmly into the world of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and demonstrates just how many characters, action, bad guys and just plain fun this game is going to be.
Plus, who doesn’t like to pretend to be Deadpool and spin around, guns blazing, spraying lead in all directions? Sounds like fun to me. The game itself debuts in September, but in the meantime, this new trailer is just-plain kick-ass. Be sure to check out the full trailer after the jump.

Even though Warner Bros. dropped these brand new posters during Comic-Con a day or so ago, that doesn’t mean everyone has seen them yet. Plus, they’re both pretty cool. So, for those of you who haven’t had a look, we’ve got the posters for both Jonah Hex, featuring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox, and the reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street, featuring a somewhat obscured shot of Jackie Earle Haily as Freddy Kruger.
Of the two, I find the Jonah Hex poster to be the more interesting — at least in terms of the way its designed and who it features. Obviously, if the movie is called Jonah Hex you need to show that character and the actor who portrays him on the poster. That’s pretty much a no-brainer. What’s funny is that the poster also features Megan Fox prominently and lists her above the title right next to Josh Brolin.
Why do I find this unusual? Well, according to Fox herself, she plays a minor role in the film — that of a world-weary prostitute — and isn’t really all that important to the story. So why is she featured so prominently on the poster? Well, as you’ve probably figured out already, she’s kinda a big name at the moment and Warner Bros. obviously wants to capitalize on her fame as much as possible. Makes sense, especially as Jonah Hex might be a somewhat difficult sell to a middle America who may or may not have ever heard of the comic on which its based. Seems like a smart decision by the Warner PR department to me.
Jonah Hex hits theaters on June 18, 2010 and A Nightmare on Elm Street arrives on April 30, 2010 . Check out larger versions of the posters after the jump.

Actress Juliet Landau is probably best known for two things. One, she played Spike’s somewhat eccentric love Drusilla on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. She’s also the daughter of Hollywood icon Martin Landau, who’s career has spanned several decades and includes stage and screen.
However, in addition to the lovely Ms. Landau’s on-screen accomplishments, she’s also a respected comic book writer, having co-written some issues of IDW’s Angel comic book, and she’s also an accomplished voice actor who has lent her talents to projects such as Ben Ten: Alien Force and Justice League. He most recent voice acting project is Green Lantern First Flight, wherein she voices the character of Labella, a flirtatious alien with ties to both Hal Jordan and Sinestro.
We caught up with Landau at the recent San Diego Comic-Con to get all the details of her role in Green Lantern First Flight — which drops on DVD today.
Check out the video of that interview after the jump.

This past weekend at the San Diego Comic Con, I got the opportunity to stop by the Antarctic Press Entertainment booth and met the creators of Bad Kids Go to Hell. They were happy to give The Flickcast one of the first issues of Bad Kids Go to Hell #2, which will be released on Wednesday. We’re proud to have the first exclusive review of the issue right here.
Bad Kids Go to Hell #2 – Antarctic Press – $3.50
Score: 7.0
What would happen to the Breakfast Club if instead of just dealing with teenage angst and a hard-nosed disciplinarian they had to worry about a curse caused by all of their parents building a library over a sacred Apache Indian burial ground? Bad Kids Go to Hell explores this scenario as four members of a pretentious high school’s elite class find themselves in detention with a kid from the wrong side of the tracks trying to avoid heading back to juvenile hall and a cynical Goth girl in tune with the occult.
Each of the elitists, the overachieving daughter of a lawyer, the injured jock son of a councilman, the homecoming queen cutter and the pressured son of an Afghani immigrant, all try to examine how they got themselves in to the trouble that landed them in detention. The odd thing is that none of them can explain why they did what they did other than saying the idea just came over them and they didn’t feel like they were in control of themselves at the time.
The issue begins with the kids beginning their punishment, researching and writing a speech for the library’s dedication. What they find backs up the rumors they had begun discussing last issue that the school had been built on sacred Apache land. Upon further examination, they unearth some information about the last guardian of the tribe who had been forced from the land by eminent domain, committed to an asylum and took his only life after feeling he failed to protect the sacred land. And of course, before he died he made sure to place a curse on the land. Like any Goth girl, Veronica offers up the idea to have a séance to find out if there really is a curse on the school. Reluctantly, the others agree and the circle sets themselves up around a table.

Its not a secret how we feel about Joss Whedon and his major creations Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Dollhouse. In short, we’re fans. Big fans. In fact, we’ve tried to do what we can to get the word out about Whedon’s latest creation Dollhouse and hopefully help a bit to keep the show going.
So, its was with great excitement that we saw this video posted up over at EW. In it, both Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku dish on the next season of Dollhouse and offer a bit more info on what to expect from the show. Be warned, some of this info could be considered SPOILERS so watch at your own risk.
However, if you’re not afraid of knowing too much, check out the video after the jump.

The network formerly known as the Sci-Fi Channel has now “officially” set the date for the first episode of Caprica to premiere on that network. According to the network that we shall now refer to as Syfy, that date is Jan. 22 and as we are big fans of the show around here, we could not be more enthusiastic.
However, in case you’re not quite as big a fan of the show as we are, here’s a little info by way of backstory. Caprica is a prequel to the award-winning Battlestar Galactica, which just concluded its fourth and final season on March 20. The Caprica storyline predates BSG by 58 years and leads up through the creation of the Cylons, the war and the near annihilation of the human race.
The two hour pilot, which was written by Ronald Moore and Remi Aubuchon and directed by Jeffrey Reiner, was completed last year, already aired on the network and has dropped on DVD. Syfy has ordered an additional 20 hours in addition to the pilot but its not known at the moment if they will split the order into two seasons.
Production on brand new episodes began July 15 in Vancouver. Caprica, which features Esai Morales, Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson and Polly Walker and is exec. produced by Ron Moore, David Eick and Jane Espenson, will air at 10/9C on Friday nights.

Not many directors will go down in history being considered a faithful comic book film adaptor, and not many even want the title. Zack Snyder not only earns that moniker, but makes it his own. With his first major adaptation being Frank Miller’s 300 back in 2006, he was immediately up for the idea of taking on another project, one that many called “Unfilmable”.
Last year, he took on Alan Moore’s Watchmen, which was, as the trailer stated, the most celebrated graphic novel in history. Last week, his director’s cut of the film, which had an extra half hour of footage, hit DVD stores, and select theaters, across the country.
We were able to speak with the “legendary visionary” himself at Comic-Con in San Diego. In the interview, Snyder discussed what had to get cut from the original film and why, where the franchise could go from here, and what he and Frank Miller have planned for a sequel to 2006′s 300.
Check out the full video after the jump. Watchmen: The Director’s Cut is now in stores everywhere.

This past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, I had the privilege of sitting down with a few other members of the media to talk with legendary artist Jim Lee about his involvement in DC Universe Online, the upcoming MMO for the PC and Playstation 3. We were able to get some insight in to what he learned from the game, the first mention of an expansion from any party involved in the game and even the future of All-Star Batman.
John Carle: First obvious question, how was it working on an MMO for the first time?
Jim Lee: How was it working on an MMO? I’ve been working on it for over four years, so it feels long, but good. I mean I feel like it’s like weight training or something. (Laughs) Like its hard work but at the end of the day, you come out stronger and better for it. So yea, I mean it’s been a real learning experience not just in terms of learning how to build an MMO but also learning about the DC Universe.
Never really thought about what kind of materials all these costumes were made of. Never really thought about what all the different environments and neighborhoods of Gotham and Metropolis look like. And having those answers now, I feel much smarter as a DC fan than I ever did before, yea.
QUESTION: Are you a gamer yourself?
JL: Ah yes, I do game so you know it’s weird because I do get asked that a lot. I just assume everyone games but maybe they don’t. It’d be more interesting if I said, “No I’ve never played a video game before and that’s why I bring a very unique perspective to this.”

Two of the show we really like here at The Flickcast are Chuck and Heroes. In the past months we’ve brought you a lot of info about these two shows and will continue to do so as long as they’re on the air — which is hopefully a long time. We also got a chance to talk with some of the stars of Chuck during this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. You can find those videos here and here.
Sadly, we missed the Heroes panel this time around (we can’t be in twelve places at once) but fortunately, our friends at NBC were nice enough to send us some video of the panel, which we’ve dropped here after the jump. They also sent us the Chuck panel as well and we’ve included that one too.
Heroes returns to NBC on Monday, September 24th and Chuck returns on a date TBD (but hopefully soon) . Check out both panel videos after the jump.
