I hate it when I hear good buzz about a horror movie, then it never makes it to the mainstream circuit. Grace, Paranormal Activity (I am DYING to see this) and Trick ‘r Treat are recent examples. After making some festival noise last year, Grace was available on Netflix last Tuesday. I finally got to see what all the fuss was about.
This horror maven was a little queasy at the conclusion of this low budget horror movie about the ties that bind a mother and her baby. As indicated by the film’s poster, the baby in the story has some unique dietary restrictions, so to speak. First time mother Madeline (Jordan Ladd, quite good) has been taking fertility drugs for a few years, and is finally pregnant.
She is a vegan, drinks soy milk and has a waste compost container in her backyard. She decides to hire a midwife, much to her mother-in-law’s chagrin. A brush with preeclampsia lands her in the hospital, but she miraculously stabilizes. On the drive home from the hospital she and her husband are involved in a car wreck, which kills her husband and their unborn child.

Here at The Flickcast, we’re very curious about Wes Anderson’s upcoming The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and we’ve dug up all the news we could for you. We brought you the first Fantastic Mr. Fox trailer back in July and a featurette earlier this month, but Ain’t It Cool News has just brought to our attention a new trailer that just hit the web!
While the first trailer gave us a glimpse into the furry world of Mr. Fox, this trailer is a little bit more intimate, giving us a sneak peek at the quirky, zippy dialogue we’ve come to know and love from Anderson’s writing, the amazing ensemble cast he’s assembled, and a really detailed look at just how beautiful this film is going to be.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox, filmed completely using stop-motion animation and featuring the voice of Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Bill Murray and George Clooney as Mr. Fox, creeps into theaters November 15. You can watch the newest trailer right after the jump. Enjoy!

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later because you can’t really hide anything from the Internet these days. In spite of the best efforts by studios and their minions, important things have a way of getting out — like a new photo of The A-Team team that recently surfaced at ComingSoon. Previously, we had a photo of the team’s van in action and now in this new pic we get our first real glimpse at the new team, which includes Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlito Copley and “Rampage” Jackson.
After seeing this pic I gotta say they all look pretty darn good. Although, with Joe Carnahan at the helm I was sorta hoping for a pic of the team doing what it does best: shooting machine guns, flipping cars and blowing stuff up. Still, this is a pretty cool image anyway and I’m sure sooner or later (Probably sooner) we will get photos like that. Plus, we’ll probably get a photo of Jessica Biel in uniform at some point as well.
With this kind of cast and knowing what Caranahan can do with action, this movie is shaping up to be one I’m excited to see. Unfortunately, like the rest of you, I’ll have to wait until June 11, 2010 to do that. Well, at least we can look forward to more photos like this along the way which, given the nature of things, is almost certain to happen.
Check out a larger version of the pic after the jump.

Be prepared for some evil residents of Canada (See what I did there, with the “evil” and “residents” . . . never mind). The fight against the Umbrella Corporation continues as filming for Resident Evil: Afterlife starts shooting in Toronto, Ontario. Yes, your’s truly will only be an hour away from the awesomeness of zombies and hotness that is Milla Jovovich (The other Resident Evil films), Ali Larter (Heroes) and Wentworth Miller (Prison Break).
Hey, I’m man enough to admit Miller has eye candy appeal with the ladies. Speaking of Miller, the announcement from Screen Gems and Constantin Film confirmed he would be playing Chris Redfield, the brother of Jovovich’s character, Alice. Paul W.S. Anderson returns as director, producer, and writer of the film and provided a vague glimpse of what is to come, “Alice’s battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn’t finished. Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It’s time to settle the score.”
Did I say “vague”? Maybe I should have said really vague. Anyway, I’m up for watching Alice “settle the score” so long as it involves an unnecessary amount of undead carnage and perhaps more mutant dogs. Mutant dogs are fun. As an added bonus this time around Resident Evil: Afterlife will be shot in 3-D, because there’s nothing like a decapitated zombie head in your lap. Resident Evil: Afterlife is set for a fall release in 2010.
Oh, and if I happen to cross paths with Milla while I’m in Toronto you’ll definitely read about it here first.
