Yes, that’s right kids. The new Doctor Who with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan premieres tomorrow. We’ve brought you some previews, interviews, and such for the show already and now we’ve got one video to get to you ready for all the Doctor goodness coming your way.

This video shows what happens when you get a bunch of Doctor Who fans together in one place, in this case the Village East Cinema in Manhattan, and give them a look at the new show. As you probably can guess, the fans really enjoyed the news show. But don’t take our word for it, instead check out the preview after the jump.

We like news about Samuel L. Jackson. Though lately, most of that news also means chatter about Iron Man 2 or The Avengers. Either way, we like to see when the man picks up new work, especially when the project sounds pretty cool.

Jackson is now in talks to work on a new indie action flick titled Deathgames, alongside the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s Kellan Lutz. The premise sounds a bit like something we’ve seen before, though. From Heat Vision:

The story centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. Jackson orchestrates the games, overseeing them from his computer lair with the help of twin ladies who see to his every desire.

Jonah Loop, a visual effects supervisor on such pics as “Collateral” and “A Perfect Getaway,” is making his directorial debut with the film, which begins shooting next month in Louisiana. MPCA’s Brad Krevoy and Mike Callaghan are producing with Mark Williams.

The film comes from indie production company Motion Picture Corporation of America, and this could be their first big ticket project. The script comes from the team of Michael Hultquist and Robert Martinez, as well as Tony Giglio, writer/director of 2005′s Chaos starring Jason Statham.

While there’s no official word whether Jackson and Lutz have signed onto the project for sure, you can expect MPCA to get the ball rolling soon enough, with a projected release date of 2011.

Note:  spoilers for this movie begin about five minutes into its running time.  I am going to try not to include spoilers, so if the plot seems rather vague, that is why.

David Duchovny and Demi Moore play Kate and Steve Jones, an impossibly gorgeous couple who are moving into a monstrous mansion in an affluent neighborhood that makes all the other Mcmansions on the block pale in comparison. They have two impossibly gorgeous teen aged children, the dashing Mick (Ben Hollingsworth) and the seductive Jenn (Amber Heard.)

All four members of the family are perfectly coiffed and clothed, and just prior to their arrival, a semi-truck delivered a houseful of designer furniture, ensuring that a perfectly decorated residence awaits. However, there are hints that the Joneses are not exactly what they appear to be.

When they pull up to their mansion, they squeal and delight that it is perfect, apparently they have never laid eyes on it until just then.  That’s odd, and more puzzling revelations occur throughout the first third of the movie.

Somebody must have brought the idea of viral marketing to Disney executives last year because they have been coming out of the woodwork with some pretty impressive new strategies. They started with Tron Legacy last year at San Diego Comic-Con with the exclusive “Flynn’s Arcade” party, which opened up into a huge crowd of gaming and film fans alike.

Now, they’re getting a bit deeper into the world of Tron, as a fake campaign has begun for the release of “Space Paranoids Online”, one of the original games created by Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) and ENCOM, the character and company from the original Tron film.

The trailer also leads fans back to EncomInternational.com, which is a neat viral site used to show off the films fictitious evil company. You can tell from the site that the film’s main plot is that ENCOM plans to integrate the world into their video game universe, much like in the original film.

For director Noah Baumbach, polarizing audiences is nothing new. While many find his films (Margot at the Wedding, The Squid and the Whale) well constructed, a common complaint is that they are depressing, and the characters are too unlikable. The fact that Baumbach’s movies elicit such strong reactions from audience members means he is doing something right. The guy is damn good at peeling back the layers and exposing the not-so- pretty underbelly of human nature.

If you go expecting a light-hearted comedy, you will undoubtedly be disappointed, but Greenberg is one of the finest character studies I’ve witnessed. Ben Stiller plays Roger Greenberg, a caustic, neurotic, insecure, and bitter 40-something who has just gotten out of a stint in a mental hospital. He travels to California to house-sit for his wealthy brother, and is given instructions as well as the phone number of his brother’s personal assistant, Florence (Greta Gerwig).

As its Friday that means, among other things, new episodes of Syfy’s original series Stargate Universe and Merlin will be beaming their way to your TV screens this evening. To help get you ready for the fun, adventure and drama, we’ve got previews for the shows for you right now.

Starting with Stargate Universe, the preview brings us a mysterious planet orbiting an uncharted star and the crew of Destiny need to investigate and figure out what’s going on and if they are in danger. Will they find out in time? Tune in tonight.

Next on Merlin, Morgana’s emerging power leads Merlin to make a difficult choice. What will he choose and how will he face the consequences? That would be telling and we don’t want to spoil the surprise.

Tom Cruise has gotten a pretty bad rap in the past few years. Ever since his epic “couch jumping” episode on Oprah, he’s been labeled by some as, well, crazy. Most people in the public eye can take that information two different ways. They could choose to be sticks in the mud and hate the media, or they could embrace it in a film, making light of their eccentricities.

Luckily, as fans of comedy and action, we are treated to the latter with Tom Cruise’s newest upcoming flick, Knight and Day. The film is basically Tom Cruise playing his typical Mission: Impossible super spy when he’s blacklisted and forced to take to a civilian (Cameron Diaz) for assistance in staying alive.

In the newest international trailer for the film, they focus more on the “cover story” that the government forges, in which Cruise’s character has gone crazy. After his epic cameo in Tropic Thunder, there’s no doubt that Cruise is willing to take a few shots at himself, or the characters he’s played.

Make no mistake about it, Chloe Moretz (500 Days of Summer) owns this movie. She may only be 11 years old, but her performance as Hit-Girl is spunky, sassy, and exciting. Hit-Girl is poised to become a new comic cult icon, and Kick-Ass is quite simply a rollicking good time.

At one of the panels I attended this weekend, someone likened Kick-Ass to a comic type Pulp Fiction, which I would say is a pretty accurate description. British Actor Aaron Johnson plays Dave Lizewski, a nerdy high school type whose only interaction with the popular kids is when he brushes up against one at his locker.

One day out of the blue he decides he is going to become a vigilante superhero. He concocts a hideous green costume that resembles a wet suit, sets up a social media homepage for his alter ego, and starts “training.” When someone asks his name, he proudly proclaims, “I’m Kick-Ass!”

Completely inept and not blessed with any actual powers, Dave gets the living crap beat out of him by a few thugs mere moments after his official debut as Kick-Ass. This results in a multitude of injuries requiring steel plates and rods being placed throughout his body, which makes him a little more impervious to injury, but still not in possession of actual powers.

Burn Notice is one of those shows that sorta sneaks up on you, much like its covert, ex-spy characters. At first, it seems like a pure action show where men are men and stuff blows up. But then, you go deeper and it turns out to be an intelligent, fun show that not only features action and explosions but actual characters and stories you care about a well.

Obviously, USA feels they’ve got something special too because they’ve given the show an additional two seasons. The news broke late yesterday via a USA’s exec’s Twitter account, which is where all the best news is coming out these days. Just in case you’re not familiar with the show, it concerns “burned” spy Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan) who’s former employers drop him in Miami penniless and with no work resources after they decide he’s no longer useful.

Once there he teams up with friends Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) and Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar) to find out who burned him and also do a little PI work on the side. He also occasionally has to deal with his mother (Sharon Gless), who also happens to live in Miami too.

It’s a fun show with some great actors and is definitely worth a look if you’ve never watched it before. And now, with USA giving it two more seasons, you’ll have a chance to do just that.

Burn Notice returns Thursday, June 3 at 9/9C on USA.

Anyone who has been reading “X-Men: Second Coming” knows there are some HUGE changes in store for Marvel’s band of merry mutants. X-Men are crossing lines they never thought they would have to and it’s obvious that not everyone is going to be making it out of this event alive.

Not that it’s a spoiler, but we do know that in the end, the X-Men will survive the event of Second Coming but it looks like not only the team, but the entire concept of the word X-Men will be changing forever.

For the past week, Marvel has been rolling out promotional images, in a similar vein to their “I’m an Avenger” campaign showing off the new roster of the X-Men. Some of them are expected (pending they survive Second Coming) like Magneto and Gambit.

Others seem to come totally out of left field like Blade, Spider-Man and the Savage She-Hulk, all non-mutants. Take a look below at the images along with some added insight from Marvel editor Nick Lowe about these new X-Men.

We told you a bit about USA’s new Covert Affairs recently when the network announced its upcoming premiere dates for new and returning programs. However, at the time we didn’t have much to go on about the show except a very brief description and a list of some of the cast.

Now, thanks to the folks at USA, we can bring you a new teaser for the show that actually gives a lot more clues as to what its about and features star Piper Perabo doing some pretty convincing action scenes. But before you watch the teaser and see her in action, here’s what USA says about the show’s plot. Yes, plot is important too.

New jobs are tough- especially when your new employer is the CIA. Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) is fluent in six languages, has traveled all over the world and is besting her fellow CIA trainees in every test, but that doesn’t explain why she’s suddenly summoned by CIA headquarters to report for active duty as a field operative a month before her training is over.

What she doesn’t know is there may be something-or someone-from her past that her CIA bosses are really after. With the help of Auggie Anderson (Christopher Gorham), a tech ops expert who was blinded while on assignment and is Annie’s unofficial guide to this inscrutable world filled with intrigue, danger, and bureaucratic red tape, this quick study won’t be kept in the dark for long.

With the Kick-Ass movie about to hit theaters Marvel is doing another cool thing to tie in with the film’s release. Starting today, they are offering the complete Kick-Ass limited comic series in single issue format for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The comics can be downloaded via the Comixology or Iverse applications for Apple devices and PSP users can download directly to their device.

“I have an ancient cell phone given to me by a relative that’s so old it can’t take pictures so this tech is so far away from me it might as well be science fiction,” said Kick-Ass writer and co-creator Mark Millar. “But I read about it on Comic Book Resources and Marvel.com– the guys seemed excited so consider me excited by osmosis. More readers and new readers is always a good thing.”

John Romita Jr, artist and co-creator of Kick-Ass, said, “I’m excited about these advances in technology that I have been hearing about for, what seems like ten years. Now it has arrived, and all I can think of is that it advances the state of ‘comic books’ in that it will direct people to the source material. I believe this will cement the tangible material, the comics themselves, into the hands and minds of future ‘young’ generations! It always comes down to the quality of writing and the sequential art. Holding a comic and turning the page for more will forever be a novelty, even with advanced technology as an option.”

So there you have it right from the creators. This is a new way to discover the world of Kick-Ass and hopefully enhance your appreciation for the comic and what the filmmakers were able to accomplish when bringing the comic to the big screen.
