Let’s just say we like the Call of Duty franchise and leave it at that. With each successive version, the game gets better and better and features a more diverse set of challenges and ways to, well, blow stuff up.
The action looks to continue with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. But today, we’re talking about a special piece of that new game: The “Spec Ops” mode. This mode will feature a new progressive ranking system, online matchmaking system and leaderboards.
Just another way the Call of Duty franchise plans on engaging and challenging players for years to come. To help you fully comprehend the awesomeness of the “Spec Ops” mode, we’ve got a trailer for it to share with you today.

At the E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles late yesterday I spent some time at the Activision booth to learn more about one of my most anticipated upcoming games: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. After being ushered into a small room in the bowels of the Activision booth, the lights dimmed and it began.
First, we were treated to a look at two of the game’s upcoming levels: “Hunter Killer” and “Mind the Gap.” The first took us underwater with the SEALS for some sabotage of a nuclear submarine and then inside the sub for some awesome mano y mano firefight action.
We also got a chance to take a look at what happens when the firefight inside the sub is over and the action moves outside and into a rubber speedboat. Once in the boat we speed through the mayem with missiles and ships exploding all around us. Do we make it to the chopper in time and escape? I’ll leave that to your imaginaton.
Next up was “Mind the Gap” where we join the SAS to infiltrate a stronghold and go house to house in search of the bad guys. The level progreses and we take out most of the hostiles but at the end they try to escape in London’s underground. Of course, we give chase — in two trucks.

That’s right boys and girls it’s E3 time again. So, you know what that means, right? It means we will have a bunch of game trailers, videos and more to share over the next couple days.
It also means photos. Lots of photos. We like photos. Photos tell a story. They tell a story of E3 full of exotic booths, exotic games, exotic trips to far off lands and exotic booth babes.
That’s right, the booth babes are back this year and we’ve got pictures to prove it. So, click on through for what will probably be the first of at least a couple more galleries of photos showing off the sights, sounds and even smells of E3 in Los Angeles.
Well, maybe not the smells. That would be a little difficult. Click through for all the excitement.

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Matt inch ever closer to the magical 100th episode of the show. It’s getting closer every day but until then, they still had this episode to do and do it they did.
This week’s topics include lots of new trailers including Green Lantern and The Muppets, the state of 3D movies at the Box Office, the technical glitches of some movie theater chains on the East Coast, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Torchwood: Children of Earth and much more. Sadly, they also talked about Charlie Sheen, Ashton Kutcher and Two and a Half Men . . . but only for a minute.
Of course, the boys made some picks this week including Matt’s pick of John Carpenter’s They Live and Chris’ pick of the book Bossypants by SNL and 30 Rock writer and star Tina Fey.
As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, at Facebook and MySpace or via email.

Last week, Activision launched the Facebook page and released teaser trailers for quite possibly one of the most anticipated games of the past decade: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The teasers hinted that the game would be a global war including the United States, Germany, France and England. Now, for those who were not watching ESPN during game 4 of the Western Conference Finals can take their first peek at the game, coming from Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games.
“It doesn’t take the most powerful nations on earth to create the next global conflict. Just the will of a single man.” World War 3 is coming and the first peek of it can be seen in this trailer. From the look of things, there are going to be some epic set pieces in Modern Warfare 3, much like the Washington DC level of Modern Warfare 2.
Though much of these scenes are likely to be in engine cut scenes and not full gameplay, it is an impressive start for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Coming out on November 8th, 2011, can Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 break its own records? Stick tight right here for more as it becomes available.
Check out the brand new trailer after the jump.

If you’re a fan of first person shooter games and the Call of Duty franchise in particular, you’re about to get a lot happier. No, a new game in the series isn’t coming out tomorrow. That would be too cool.
However, the new Facebook and YouTube pages for the soon to be a giant hit game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have just gone live so you know what that means. That’s right, a new game in the franchise is coming soon and from the videos so far, it looks to be another great one.
We don’t know a lot about the game except that from the new videos we can at least guess some of the action takes place in various countries such as France, England, Germany and the good old US of A.
What does that mean for this game? well, we shall soon see. Also, it will be very interesting to see how this game shapes up as this is the first one in the series not to be developed by Infinity Ward or Treyarch.
Instead, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software will be handling the development with Activison doing the publishing. Look for this game later this year for XBox 360, PS 3 and PC. Of course, we’ll bring you all we can about it right here so keep on checking back.
For now, click through to check out the videos.
