It seems to be a distant memory now, but there was a period in time when Pixar and Disney has split up over financial and creative differences. Obviously, Disney didn’t suffer all that much, and went on to do less-than-Pixar quality films like Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little. The megastudio finally came to their senses and acquired Pixar in 2006, leading up to it’s first feature film after the purchase, Cars.
The lack in preparation on the marketing side of things hurt the film in the long run, leaving it to get beaten by Ice Age: The Meltdown back in 2006. Now, it’s time to change all of that with a brand new film in the works.
From what we gathered in the teaser after the jump, we know that Owen Wilson an Larry the Cable Guy are returning. Sadly, three of the voice actors from the first film have died since it’s original release, which means we won’t get Paul Newman, George Carlin, or voice actor Joe Ranft in the upcoming sequel.
Check out the new teaser after the jump, as well as some great concept art showing us that the whole gang is making a world tour in this story. Be sure to catch Cars 2 in 3D and 2D, in theaters on June 24th.

We’ve been tracking Activision and Bizarre Creations’ Blur racing game for some time here at The Flickcast. As its release draws nearer, we’re even more eager to get a chance to play it — especially when we see new trailers for the game like we have for you today. In the past the company has delivered some rather inspired videos to get you in the mood for some extreme racing action. This time is no exception.
In this latest video, you get to further check out the game and see some of “Blur’s power-ups and four-player split-screen in action.” Which, of course, sounds and looks awesome. In case you haven’t been following our Blur coverage, here’s a bit of info on the game:
“Blur is the ultimate powered-up racing experience, dropping players into heart-pumping, electrified action with multiple cars trading paint as they charge towards the finish line. Drivers careen through real-world track locations packed with fast curves, sneaky alternate routes and hair-raising jumps in over 50 licensed cars as they collect intense Power-ups, including the ability to blast other cars out of the way with huge bursts of energy, boost their speed, and more.” I know, right?
Click through to check out the new trailer. Blur hits store shelves later this year.

Sometimes, in the quest to build awareness of a new, upcoming video game, we end up getting some boring old advertising that gives you the important parts and information but doesn’t present them in a new and interesting way. Fortunately, with this latest video from our friends at Activision and Bizarre Creations about the upcoming racing game Blur, we don’t have this problem.
In this video, giving you the vital information is done in a very humorous and interesting way. We’re treated to funny vignettes and scenes of sheer lunacy in oder to inform, entertain and generally get the word out. Its great to see this much effort being put into a game’s marketing before it comes out. If the advertising and the campaign are this well done by people who obviously care about what they’re doing, imagine how great the game itself is going to be?
Even if I wasn’t that interested in the game before, which I wasn’t to be honest as I don’t play many racing games, I’m actually way more interested now because of this video. I’m really interested to see if the quality carries over to the game itself. I’ll bet it probably does.
Check out the video and see for yourself after the jump. Blur hits store shelves later this year.
