While Harrison Ford is still sitting back in his chair, maniacally laughing at what he did to millions of Indiana Jones fans with the last film (I’m only assuming it was done with nefarious intentions), he has been pretty laid back on the “getting a job” front.

After a few bombs like Extraordinary Measures, Firewall, and Hollywood Homicide, one would think that the actor would make Oscar-worthy career moves like his peers Bill Murray or Jack Nicholson. Instead, it seems he’s possibly taking the more popular route, and signing to do a comic book film.

In a recent article from Latino Review, they threw out the statement that Ford is about to join a “huge comic book movie to be directed by a director coming off a soon to be released huge comic book movie.”

With hard-hitting journalism like this, we’re led to believe that Ford is either going to be cast in Christopher Nolan’s Superman, or Jon Favreau’s upcoming Cowboys and Aliens.

We’re all pretty excited around The Flickcast offices for February. Not just because it means warmer weather for those of us on the East Coast, but mostly because that means LOST is back on the air with its final season. We’ve been bringing you plenty of LOST tidbits from all over the web lately, and now it’s time for something even more fun.

We’ve gone into how quirky LOST fans can be before, and how much time and/or effort they put into their fanaticism (which we love, of course), but our collective hats are tipped for this little piece of fandom. This friendly YouTuber put together all of the clips from the show leading up to the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, and threw it together chronologically, with a bit of 24 flavoring.

Many props go out to YouTube’s pyram1dhead for his work on this one. He had also done the same thing for when the survivors all met for the first time at the Sydney airport. Lots of time and effort go into things like these, and we are more than happy to share it with you.

With exactly one week left before our minds get blown once again in the final season premiere of LOST, fans everywhere are still jonesing for whatever tidbits the internet has to offer about the upcoming episodes. We’ve been sure to bring you as much as we could, with new promos and pics, but this latest TV spot seems to give the most that we’ve seen.

Last we left everyone in season 5, Jacob was dead, Locke’s body was shown to the “undead” Locke, and Juliet set off the bomb that may or may not have reset time back to before all of this happened. Next week’s premiere is titled “LA X”, which could signify the airport that everyone was supposed to land in if things went well. It could also (and most likely) be a misdirection.

With the final season of LOST beginning to air in just over two weeks, fans are already salivating over more unanswered questions, mysteries, and unexpected deaths. This season is expected to ramp up those same themes with much more before the island – and it’s inhabitants – disappear forever.

Exec. Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were recently bombarded with questions from the press about what will happen in the coming season. They were tight-lipped, as usual, but they did spill the beans on some facts, such as the fact that Libby (Cynthia Watros) and Michael (Harold Perrineau) will be back. Lindelof also said that this season may be the most frustrating. From the Hollywood Reporter:

“Get ready to scratch your heads, America!” Lindelof said about the premiere. The sentiment was echoed by several cast members. “I think I had to read it three times before it made sense,” Emilie de Ravin said. As for the May finale, “there is certainly a hope that everybody universally loves the ending, but I don’t think it would be ‘Lost’ if there wasn’t an ongoing and active debate,” Lindelof said.

“If I could put on my predicting hat, there’s going to be some that think it’s the worst ending in the history of TV, and on the other end, to balance that out, would be my mom.”

Given that most fans of TV are used to cop-out or confusing endings over the past few years (I’m looking at you Sopranos and Battlestar Galactica), but if one of the executive producers of the show is claiming that we’ll more than likely hate the ending, then we should be prepared for the mother of all unanswered questions come May.

Lost returns to ABC on Tuesday, February 2nd.

With the final season of ABC’s  LOST coming up in less than a month, it’s only expected that we will see a lot more viral marketing from the camp that brought us the marketing beast Cloverfield. With that in mind comes a brand new set of promotional images for the upcoming season, portraying the cast in a classic “Last Supper” scenario.

In it, we get the final cast of characters for this upcoming set of episodes, with Locke (Terry O’Quinn) seemingly at the center of it all. There are supposedly clues all around both images, that could lead us to various conclusions and conspiracies for the upcoming season, so take a close look at each one.

This isn’t the first time that TV land has done something like this. In fact, this is the third time that this exact technique has been used. First, done for the final season of The Sopranos with Tony at the center. And once again for the final season of Battlestar Galactica, with Six as the main focus.

Take that as you will, but if this trend continues, does this mean that we’ll be getting an office version of How I Met Your Mother or Glee at some point?

With the birth of fan fiction and pop art many years ago, the mainstream world was introduced to the artistic side of fandom. There have been plenty of unoriginal outlets for this medium, but with those also come some incredible (or incredibly odd) pieces of work.

Now that ABC’s LOST is going into it’s 6th and final season, artistic fans everywhere (or in this case, the greater Los Angeles area) are stepping up to contribute to The LOST Underground Art Show. The exhibit is currently running until Thursday night in downtown LA’s Gallery 1988, and you can even purchase some of the art from the exhibitors’ website, Damon, Carlton, And A Polar Bear.com.

The art varies from pop-like canvas style to physical models and figures (such as the Dharma polar bear). Check out a bunch of the pieces after the jump, and check out the full list of work at their website. Definitely worth it for a fan of the show.

Those from the Abrams/Lindelof camp have made public announcements that they won’t air any new footage from the upcoming sixth season of LOST, set to air in February on ABC. That hasn’t stopped some of ABC’s international affiliates from promoting the show, such as the Spanish TV network CUATRO.

The promo has mostly old footage, spruced up to look like everything is taking place on a chess board. There are some pretty cool things done with clips from the season 5 finale, but there is one new piece of footage that has everyone’s heads turning. Towards the end of the clip, a mysterious hand places the Pharaoh statue on the board.

With the recent parallels to faith and god, could this reference the hand of god placing the Pharaoh statue on the island? What could this mean for the rest of the survivors? And what’s going on with Locke?

Oh, how time flies. It feels like J.J. Abrams’  Star Trek was still hovering out in the distance, a big question mark of a concept. Now the DVD is in the hot little hands of fans, and no one can stop talking about the sequel. Oh heck, they were talking about the sequel two minutes after it premiered. Over at Sci Fi Wire, they pinned down Abrams, Damon Lindelof, and Roberto Orci to talk about Star Trek 2. While it’s being touted as being very spoiler filled, it’s really just the creators thinking out loud and seeing what’ll stick.

Abrams confirms that he will direct the sequel, despite all rumors to the contrary, and that we shouldn’t look for it to hit theaters before 2012. While they’re predictably tight-lipped, Lindelof dropped one intriguing hint as to the new film’s place in the timeline. Citing the timeline of the Bourne films as an inspiration, Lindelof suggested that a squishy LOST continuum might come into play.

“One of the things we like to do as storytellers is drop you in the middle of something. And the question that you’re asking yourself is: Where am I in relation to the last time I left these guys? Could this be something that predated even, perhaps, some of the adventures that they had in the first movie? Does it happen five years later? Is it happening two seconds later? Who knows? So we’re not going to tell you.”

Man, oh man, there are a lot of great books coming out this week. From DC Comics, we have a slew of “Blackest Night” Batman books if you’re into that kind of thing, which I’m not. Adventure Comics also looks intriguing, but other than that and Green Lantern Corps, I’m not interested in much else from these guys.

From IDW, The ACT-I-VATE Primer comes out and if you like some Indy Comics this book is for you. ACT-I-VATE is a webcomic collective founded by Dean Haspiel (aka Zach Galifianakis’s character on Bored to Death). In this book you will get some high quality indy comics from the likes of Haspiel, Nikki Cook, Joe Infurnari and Michael Fiffe.

My pick of the week is Liberty Comics which features some great previews from new books. All proceeds go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, which protects comic book creators’ First Amendment rights, among others. A worthy cause if there ever was one. Most especially in this book, I’m looking at the preview of my good friend Ben McCool’s new book with Ben Templesmith, titled Choker. I can tell you: when this book hits stands sometime early next year, you want it.

From Marvel Comics there is a ton of great stuff. Marvel continues to feed my sick obsession, and empty my wallet with new Deadpool comics. Most importantly, Deadpool #900–I know! How did it get to #900 when the character has only been around since the early 90s? Regardless, that book has a slew of talent telling all kinds of stories.  Like Jason Aaron, Victor Gischler, Charlie Huston, Fred Van Lente and Kyle Baker. The book just looks gorgeous.

Here at The Flickcast we hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend.  Given the holiday, we want to make sure you realize that comics hit stands this Thursday, May 28, rather than Wednesday because of the holiday schedule.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wandered into the store on a Wednesday after a holiday and there were no new books. Sometimes even I forget. Feel free to have a hearty laugh at my expense in the comments, I’d laugh at me too. I just want you to be able to benefit from my experience.

My first recommendation this week is the absolutely stellar “Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk #6.”  Lost co-creator and Star Trek producer Damon Lindelof has been blowing me away with this series. To be honest, I’ve enjoyed this book more than Lindelof’s big screen work.  How can you not be blown away by a Leinil Yu book where the second page of the first issue has Hulk tearing Wolverine in half?

My second recommendation is “The Last Days of Animal Man #1.”  Anyone who has read the seminal Grant Morrison series should file this in the “t0 try” pile.  Written by Law & Order producer Gerry Conway, this book chronicles, well, the last days of Buddy Baker.

My final recommendation is going to be “Moon Knight: The Death of Marc Spector.” Written by Entourage producer Mike Benson, its likely the most troubling and violent comic being done at Marvel Comics and is also the most interesting. With the Thunderbolts on his trail, Marc Spector runs for his life alone and friendless on Christmas. Some really entertaining stuff here.

One of my personal favorite comic book stores in New York City, Forbidden Planet, provides a great listing of everything released this Thursday.  As always please let us know what you picked up.
