It’s safe to say there’s at least one show geeks and nerds in many lands can agree is pretty awesome. That show is, of course, Game of Thrones.
The shows visuals, casting and story have captivated audiences and made the show a success for HBO. Another major element of Game of Thrones that contributes to its success is the series’ musical score.
One fan, YouTube’s own MrSolidSnake745, has taken his love of the Game of Thrones score to even great heights and made his own hommage to the series’ main title theme.
The difference here is that he did it all with eight floppy disk drives. Putting aside the fact that even finding eight floppy drives is a pretty amazing feat these days, this video is still pretty impressive.
Check it out after the break.

It’s interesting how things have changed over the last ten years or so. It used to be if you wanted quality entertainment, you went to the movies. Now, with most movies being bloated music videos or commercials for various products, discerning viewers have turned to TV for their quality entertainment.
One channel people check out regularly is HBO and one show many seem to love is Game of Thrones. Roaring back to big numbers for the premiere of season two and with a third season already set, Thrones will air its third episode of the season (aka episode 13) this Sunday. Of course, we’ve got a preview for said episode to share with you right now.
In it, you get a look at the intrigue and action expected from this episode. We know some have thought this season has gotten off to a bit of a slow start, but we also know it’s building to something pretty amazing.
You can see some hints as to what in this preview and upcoming episode. Check out the preview for episode 13 after the break. Game of Thrones airs Sunday at 9/8C on HBO.

With record breaking ratings numbers for the second season premiere, it was only a matter of time before HBO gave the green light for a third season of Game of Thrones. That time, much like Winter itself, has come.
That’s right, today HBO announced Game of Thrones will get a third season on the network. Obviously, as huge fans of the series, we’re very excited about this.
“Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season – and then surpassed them,” said HBO’s programming president Michael Lombardo.
Gotta say he’s right. The second season is off to a great, albiet mostly action-free, start. Sure, we know lots of stuff is coming soon and we can expect many battles and action along the way. Still, would be nice to get some of that started sooner rather than later.
Although, it’s not like we’re going to stop watching or anything. Speaking of watching, Game of Thrones airs Sunday nights at 9 on HBO. But you already knew that, right?

We are one short month away from the beginning of the second season of Game Of Thrones. We have already let you know of not one, but two trailers for the next season. Those were nice enough, but this is newest trailer kills them all.
So much happened at the end of the last season that the show can’t help but get off to a running start April 1st. The next season is generally based on the second novel in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Clash of Kings, meaning that people new to the series should beware, spoilers lurk in the dark places of the internet.
One of the best parts of this new trailer is how it showcases a nigh perfect synergy between song and image. This trailer weaves clips of the upcoming season with the song ‘Seven Devils’ by Florence and the Machine, and if you didn’t even know better you might have thought it was a song written for the show, it works that well.
We here at The Flickcast can’t wait until the premiere, so stay tuned should any more amazing bits of marketing find their way out in these last few agonizing weeks. We will be all over it.
Check out the new trailer after the jump.

Up until now, HBO has teased us with tiny teasers for the upcoming second season of the critically acclaimed series Game of Thrones. Those of us that read the books know the true importance that hits in the coming storylines, but not much of how it will be executed.
A good amount of those question marks can now fall away (and some can become bigger) as the first full, 2 minute trailer for the upcoming season has finally hit the web.
So will the Lannisters and the Starks finally duke it out? Will we get more dragons? And who will take the throne once and for all?
Take a look at the full trailer after the jump to get a glimpse at what’s to come on April 1st, when Game of Thrones returns to HBO.

After months of dragon and sword-less action in our lives, HBO has finally released a full trailer for the upcoming second season of the incredibly popular Game of Thrones series. No more fancy graphics with shadowy images or ominous lines that make no sense, there’s some real plot stuff in here.
Okay, maybe a few more ominous lines…
Not much is really known about what we can expect to see in this upcoming season, but we do know that anybody can be killed. Here’s a quick blurb on the overall season from the official GoT Wiki page:
Season 2 is closely based on A Clash of Kings, the second novel in the Song of Ice and Fire novel series by George R.R. Martin. Some characters and elements from the first novel, A Game of Thrones, have been held back for the second season and some other elements were brought forward into the first for production reasons.
Take a look at the sweet new trailer after the jump, and catch the new season on April 1, only on HBO.

It’s hardly controversial to say that most nerds are not fashionistas. There probably isn’t a lot of demographic crossover between The Twilight Zone and Project Runway. Those nerds who are sew-inclined tend to spend their time on cosplay; their catwalk is the convention floor. The majority of us simply have no idea what fashion is about or how it fits into the Campbellian Monomyth.
It’s not a coincidence that most classic sci-fi depicts the future populace in shiny matching coveralls. We just don’t pay that much attention to clothing. The only thing most nerds wish was in their wardrobes was the magical land of Narnia.
But we have to wear something.
Hence the Nerdy Tee. A simple, classic article of clothing that never seems to go out of style, the T-shirt is the epitome of casual cool. It looks equally at home on a guy or a girl. It can be worn tight for those of us who want to show off our shape or loose for those of us who’d rather not. It’s relatively cheap and easy to launder. And since there’s nothing nerds like more than showing off their obsessions (with buttons, stickers, lunchboxes, action figures, posters, etc.), adorning our T-shirts with nerd iconography is a no-brainer.

In case you didn’t realize it, there’s a lot of groups in Hollywood that like to give awards. From the Screen Actors Guild to the Writers Guild to the big one, the Academy Awards, it often seems that Hollywod loves awards as much as it likes making movies.
Besides the ones mentioned above, there’s another group that gives awards each year: film and TV producers. That group, collectively known as the Producers Guild of America or PGA, has released its nominations today and we’ve got them for you, and the rest of their press release, below. Check it out.
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 3, 2012) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Producers Guild of America Producer of the Year Award in Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The David L. Wolper Producer of the Year Award in Long-Form Television. The documentary film category and other television category nominations were already announced by the Guild in December 2011.
All 2012 Producers Guild Award winners will be announced on January 21, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This year, the Producers Guild will also award special honors to Leslie Moonves (Milestone Award), Steven Spielberg (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), Don Mischer (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Stan Lee (Vanguard Award), and IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY (The Stanley Kramer Award). The 2012 Producers Guild Awards co-chairs are Paula Wagner and Michael Manheim.

Yes. Winter is definitely coming. This time, it’s coming to your gaming consoles and PC, as Game of Thrones is getting it’s very own RPG adaptation.
Straight from the relatively small game publisher Cyanide Studios, who had put out a Game of Thrones strategy game earlier this game, and also were the minds behind the popular “fantasy” football game, Blood Bowl, comes the first George R.R. Martin and HBO-sanctioned Game of Thrones video game to date.
The game looks to stem from a few other popular games in the genre such as Skyrim, Dragon Age, and Assassin’s Creed with the aesthetic and feel of the environment, with some of our favorite characters from A Song of Fire and Ice making cameo appearances throughout the game.
With major distribution on XBox 360 and the PS3, the game is set to hit shelves early next year, just in time for the second season of the show to air on HBO. Take a look at tons of the game’s characters and events in the trailer after the jump, and prepare for the oncoming winter.

There’s no doubt that this year has been a pretty impressive year for dramatic TV. Between True Blood, Game of Thrones, and Boardwalk Empire, HBO has managed to be on of the top networks to deliver quality content throughout the entire year.
So why wouldn’t they want to celebrate that fact with a killer supercut of their 2011 successes. From clips of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, How to Make it in America, and plenty others, there are more than enough classic TV moments to tie together.
So why not feed into the joy of the network and take a look at their 2011 Image Spot after the jump, and see what they have to offer in 2012, including the highly anticipated sequel season to Game of Thrones.
