Twitter Giveaway: ‘Pirate Radio’ Official Soundtrack

by Matt Raub, Oct 30 2009 // 11:15 AM

Pirate2It’s a crime that there are only a dozen or so films about, or involving, the world of broadcast radio. Not too many actually deal with the tribulations of censorship, though, which is where the upcoming film Pirate Radio comes in.

The film is about a group of rogue DJ’s on a boat in the middle of the Northern Atlantic who broadcast a pirate radio station in the 1960s, despite the laws forbidding Rock and Roll…all for the love of music. Given the fact that the film is all about 60′s Rock, you can believe that the soundtrack is pretty killer, and you may get to win a copy!

Starting today, keep an eye on our Twitter account every week for a trivia question involving “Radio in The Movies.” The question may be the name of the radio station from Grosse Point Blank or the name of the epic band in Airheads, you’ll have to know your stuff to get this two-disc soundtrack.

The film, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy, and Emma Thompson, is set to hit theaters on November 13th. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with all kinds of coverage of the film in the leading weeks. Until then, check out the complete track listing of the giveaway after the jump, as well as the trailer for Pirate Radio.

Good Luck, and keep an eye on our Twitter!

First Look at ‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’- UPDATED!

by Matt Raub, Jul 20 2009 // 10:00 AM

persiajakeWith both historical fantasies and video game adaptations hot properties to snatch up in Hollywood, how could a new film starring Jake Gyllenhaal as an “adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world” NOT be an amazing idea for a movie? Well, if this new picture tells us anything, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may actually be a fun flick.

Entertainment Weekly had the pic up over the weekend (bigger size after the jump), which is the first of probably many to come. The film features only a few other names besides Gyllenhaal, which is surprising given the nature of the film, and the fact that it’s a Disney and Bruckheimer project. These include Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, and rising star Gemma Arterton (Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace).

UPDATE: The first poster for Prince of Persia has also been released online. Check it out after the jump!
