While most people got their Halloween kicks out this weekend, there’s still a whole day of spooks and scary scenes we have to get through before this year’s Halloween is over. And after you see the trailer for Ti West’s The Innkeepers, you may want to wait until February when the film hits to get your real horror rocks off.
West is best known for his retro cult film House of the Devil, and is continuing in that theme with a Clerks meets Poltergeist vibe in Innkeepers. Here’s the synopsis.
After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees -Claire and Luke – are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.
For the truly scary trailer, take a look after the jump, and catch West’s Innkeepers in theaters on February 3rd.

We’ve been bringing you previews for these two cool shows for several weeks now and today is no exception as we’ve got more videos from Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth to share today. And make no mistake, these look like a couple of great episodes.
First off, we’ve got a clip from Ghost Hunters where Britt and Andy make contact with the victim of a shocking crime. What’s more shocking is how scary this turns out to be. Next up on Destination Truth, Josh Gates and the team search for an evil spirit plaguing one of the world’s seven wonders. But really, it’s a wonder the team makes it out alive. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
It all starts tonight at 9/8C with Ghost Hunters followed by Destination Truth only on Syfy. Check out the previews after the jump.

We know you love ghosts and the truth so in that spirit we’ve got a couple previews for you from this week’s episodes of Destination Truth and Ghost Hunters, courtesy of our friends at Syfy. First up is Destination Truth.
In this clip, Warehouse 13‘s Allison Scagliotti helps the team solve a mystery in a Chilean mining town. But if it were that simple, they wouldn’t need a team to solve it. Count on some surprises and when the truth is finally revealed, it won’t be what you think it is.
Next up on Ghost Hunters, paranormals in a notorious reform school where a former student is still causing trouble teach TAPS a lesson they won’t forget. That’s the thing about lessons taught by ghosts, you definately don’t forget them, mostly because you’re way too scared to.
Check out both previews after the jump. The fun begins Wednesday at 9/8C with Ghost Hunters followed by Destination Truth at 10/9c on Syfy.

A few days ago I raved about SyFy’s reality show Destination Truth, and hopefully inspired a few more of you to put it on your DVR or TIVO. In case my enthusiasm wasn’t enough to convince you, SyFy has sent us a clip of next week’s Destination Truth, where Gates and his crew investigate the Great Wall of China. I was hoping the clip would be of a hilarious cultural misunderstanding or bout of food poisoning, but it’s of Gates brushing up against a possible entity.
If you’ve never seen the show before, you might find yourself sneering at Gates’ goosebumps, but don’t judge too hastily. He’s actually a hard man to shake. Judge its night vision eeriness for yourself.
Along spookier lines, SyFy has also included a clip of next week’s Ghost Hunters, which finds TAPS doing its usual thing, and investigating some paranormal activity in New Jersey. (New Jersey may not be as exotic as China, but it’s just as colorful in its own way, right?) Watch them try to solve the mystery of the climbing EMF reading. Red-blooded males will probably appreciate it’s the two lovely ghost hunting ladies that are doing the investigating.
Is any of it for real? Who knows. It’s good fun, anyway. I’m not a fan of reality television, but SyFy has me hooked with all these investigations into pseudo-science. Plus, I saw Gates kiss a cobra on an Egyptian episode. Seeing someone risk death for a laugh and vaguely educational purposes is worth a Wednesday night.
The clips are embedded below. Thanks to SyFy for sending them to us!

In additon to the awesome Psych season finale airing tonight, another of our favorite shows is airing a new episode as well: Ghost Hunters. This week, in an episode eititled “Fort Ticonderoga” the team heads a famous revolutionary war battleground in search of one thing: ghosts.
As they are in a place where thousands of men fought and died you can imagine thie are is probably full of ghosts just waiting to scar the crap out of the team. In the clip we get a glimpse of the area where the battle took place and follow the team as they attempt to uncover the secrets buried there. Fortunately for us, the viewing audience, those secrets don’t stay buried for long.
Check out the preview after the jump. Ghost Hunters airs tonight at 9/8C on Syfy.

If you’ve been watching Syfy’s Ghost Hunters International you know the team has dealt with some pretty crazy stuff during this season. In truth, it’s probably never easy to deal with ghosts and tonight’s winter finale of the show is no exception.
In tonight’s episode entitled “The Legend of Rose Hall,” the team travels to Jamaica tracking the White Witch. In this preview, they set up some devices to track the movement of the ghost and also discuss several other techniques that help them in their work.
The show looks pretty interesting but I’ve always wondered why they shoot shows like this in the dark with a night vision camera. Do ghosts really know the difference between day and night or light and dark? Wouldn’t they still come out if their was light in the room? Just curious.
Anyway, check out the preview after the jump. The Ghost Hunters International season finale airs tonight at 9/8C on Syfy.

One of SyFy’s most popular shows returns for its fifth season tonight on the network. No, I’m not talking about another edition of the “monster of the week” low-budget sci-fi movies (not that those are so bad), I’m talking about real live Ghostbusters here.
Yes, that’s right, the guys from Ghost Hunters return to the airwaves for another all-new season of , well, hunting ghosts and those other things that “go bump in the night.” The show is a fun ride and often scarier than the so-called “scary” movies that come out these days — mostly because this stuff looks so damn real. Oh yeah, that’s because it is.
We’ve got some clips from the show for you today including a preview of tonight’s premiere where the team investigate some strange occurrences in the town of Blackstone, MA where “a family’s paranormal experiences have recently taken a turn for the worse. The increasingly violent incidents show no sign of letting up during the team’s investigation, during which Jason is attacked by an invisible force!” Damn. Sign me up for that.
Check out both of the clips, as usual, after the jump. Ghost Hunters premieres tonight at 9/8C on SyFy.

Even though Battlestar Galactica is finished over at Sci-Fi Channel and Caprica doesn’t start until next year, the network has some other programming that’s worth checking out — some of which they’ve announced details about today. One such show is Eureka, a quirky story of science run a muck in small town America, which returns for ten new episodes on July 10th.
Other shows announced by Sci-Fi include the premier of a new series, Warehouse 13 and the return of Ghost Hunters. Of course, Sci-Fi also continues its “monster of the week’ trend with more “Sci-Fi Original” movies including Malibu Shark Attack starring Peta Wilson as the leader of a group of lifeguards and construction workers struggling to survive a shark attack after a tidal wave leaves them stranded.
Other original movies announced by Sci-Fi include High Plains Invaders with James Marsters as a retired outlaw who must defend a small mining town from alien invaders; Hellhounds, the story of a Greek warrior on a quest to save his young bride from the god of the underworld and Sand Serpents, featuring Jason Gedrick as an inexperienced soldier leading his men across the desert of Afghanistan to safety all while being pursued by murderous sand creatures.
For more details on these shows, and more, head on over to the Sci-Fi Channel website.
