New ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season Four Promo Rocks It

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 5 2011 // 8:00 AM

Okay, here’s the deal. If you’re not watching Sons of Anarchy on FX you are missing out on one of the best shows on TV. It’s really just that simple.

The show has everything you could want: action, drama, great acting, compelling stories, sex, drugs, bikers, biker chicks and all the other essential elements that go into an entertaining and eminently watchable TV program.

The show is about to begin its fourth season and to get things started off right, we’ve got a promo for that season for you right here. In it you can get a sense of what I’m taling about. However, as cool as the promo is, it doesn’t nearly do the show justice. You’ll just have to watch it.

Check out the promo after the jump. Sons of Anarchy, which features Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff and Ron Perlman, returns to FX with an all-new season in September.

Exclusive: Katey Sagal Talks ‘Futurama’, ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Season 3

by Matt Raub, Sep 1 2010 // 11:00 AM

On Monday, we brought you an exclusive interview with Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. He explained some of the intense story arcs we can expect to see in the upcoming third season of the series. We also got to speak with one of the show’s stars (and Sutter’s Wife) Katey Sagal.

Sagal has managed to stay topical since 1987 and Married With Children, moving on to Futurama in 1999, then to 8 Simple Rules and now Sons of Anarchy. Granted, she’s dropped the Married stigma, but it’s nice to sometimes think of her as our favorite leopard top-wearing housewife.

Now, Sagal carries on in the dramatic role of Gemma Teller Morrow, and we got her to spill the beans on the coming season. Check out our full interview after the jump, and keep it here all week as we bring you another interview with a very special cast member of Sons Of Anarchy, leading up to the season 3 premiere next Tuesday, September 7th, at 10pm on FX.

Exclusive: ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Creator Kurt Sutter Talks Season 3, Crossover With ‘The Shield’

by Matt Raub, Aug 30 2010 // 11:00 AM

All this week, we’ll be bringing you some great interviews with the cast and creator of FX’s hit series, Sons of Anarchy, as we lead up to the epic season 3 premiere. Kicking it off, we got a chance to speak with the man who started it all, creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter.

Starting off as writer and producer for another FX favorite in The Shield, Sutter got such a taste for gritty crime dramas that he decided to do it himself. Not without taking a few of his own characters over with him.

Sutter spilled the beans on who exactly those crossover characters were, as well as what we can expect to see from some of the upcoming episodes from season 3.

Check out the full interview after the jump, and be sure to catch the season 3 premiere of Sons of Anarchy next Tuesday, September 7th, only on FX.

Check Out a New Preview for Season 3 of ‘Sons of Anarchy’

by Chris Ullrich, Aug 24 2010 // 2:00 PM

You may expect that as a contributor to a site like this I watch a lot of TV. You would be correct. However, that doesn’t mean I want to watch a lot of bad TV — which, believe me, happens more than I’ll admit.

Fortunately, one show I like to watch is neither bad nor something I’m reluctant to admit I really like. That show is FX’s Sons of Anarchy.

Created by former The Shield writer/producer Kurt Sutter, Sons takes a hard look at the relationships and exploits of a a motorcycle club and their quest for relevance in an ever changing world. The show is gritty, violent and pulls no punches when it comes to its characters and story. In short, it’s one of the best shows on TV and if you’re not watching it, you should be.

Take a look at a new promo for Season 3 after the break. Sons of Anarchy returns on September 7th only on FX. Leading up to the premiere, be sure to check back right here for some exclusive interviews with the cast and creators.

Original Cast Members Return to ‘Futurama’

by Jennifer Tomooka, Aug 3 2009 // 5:57 PM

Futurama fans of the world have five reasons to celebrate. Variety is reporting that the show’s original stars — John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille – reached an agreement with 20th Century Fox TV late Friday to return to the show. This compromise comes on the heels of 20th putting out a casting call in July to find replacement voice actors for the show.

“We are thrilled to have our incredible cast back,” creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen said in a statement. “The call has already gone out to the animators to put the mouths back on the characters.”

The studio announced in June that it would revive the long-canceled Futurama, and Comedy Central was on board to begin airing the new episodes in mid-2010. Part of the announcement included stars West, Sagal and DiMaggio returning to the series; however the actors had not finalized a deal and salary discussions soon escalated.

It’s believed that the Futurama cast initially asked for around $75,000 per episode (a number disputed by at least one actor), but that number was reportedly brought down to $40,000. The final number wound up below that, but above what 20th was offering.

Despite 20th’s move to start recasting Futurama, it was widely assumed that both sides would eventually figure out a way to stay in business together. In what many considered a positive sign, some of the Futurama cast attended the recent San Diego Comic-Con, although they were not a part of the show’s official panel discussion.

New Futurama episodes will begin airing on Comedy Central in 2010.

More ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 2 Set Pics

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 10 2009 // 9:28 AM

sons_of_anarchy_poster1You may recall that recently I brought you the first pics from the set taken by Sons of Anarchy creator and executive producer Kurt Sutter. Those pics were taken by him during production of the show’s second season, which got underway last month. Now, Sutter is at it again and has posted even more behind the scenes shots over at his personal blog.

This time Sutter has shared quite a few more pictures than last time and has also gone to the trouble to display them in an artistic collage depicting all sorts of scenes from the production. We’re also treated to even more glimpses of many of my favorite characters from the show including Charlie Hunnam as Jax, Ron Perlman as Clay, Tommy Flannigan as Chibs, Mark Boone Junior as Bobby and William Lucking as Piney. Sadly, no pics of the talented Katey Sagal this time, only her empty chair.

There’s also some shots taken during a night shoot as well as several of the sets, motorcycles, director’s chairs and many other things that help to give you an idea of the “look and feel” of a television series during production. As as I don’t spend much time on set anymore doing production, seeing these photos kinda makes me miss those days a little. . . but only a little. Those eighteen hour days were a bitch.

Although, it would be cool to have one of those Sons of Anarchy D-Chair backs for my own chair currently sitting in the garage backless. Maybe someday. Season 2 of Sons of Anarchy comes to the FX network in September.
