Who needs piranhas when you’ve got the mother of all predators…sharks? That’s the question the upcoming Relativity Media film Shark Night 3D is going to answer this September when it hits theaters and 3D theaters everywhere.
The film comes from Snakes on a Plane director David R. Ellis and stars some of our favorite character actors such as Sara Paxton, Joel David Moore, and Katharine McPhee. Here’s the massive synopsis.
Arriving by boat at her family’s Louisiana lake island cabin, Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player Malik (Sinqua Walls) stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates. Assuming the injury was caused by a freak wake-boarding accident, the group realizes they have to get Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast. But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the college friends discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks! As they face one grisly death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.
Movies like this are the reason why 3D should be enticing to audience members, this is what looks to be a fun experience, not a cheap grab at more money in the box office. Check out the full trailer after the jump and see Shark Night 3D in theaters on September 2nd.

News came in last week that NBC’s latest addition to their Thursday night line-up, Community, will be returning for a second season, and we couldn’t be happier. We are all in agreement that Dan Harmon’s sitcom about a group of community college students and their weekly antics is one of the funniest shows on TV, and we’re happy to see it return.
With that said, this week’s episode, entitled “Basic Geneology”, looks to be yet another funny one, as former American Idol star Katharine McPhee stops by. From NBC:
It’s Family Day at Greendale Community College and the gang’s families come to campus to join in the fun. Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) agrees to help Pierce (Chevy Chase) connect with his stepdaughter Amber (guest star Katharine McPhee). Things take an interesting twist when Amber shows an interest in Jeff.
We’ve got two new hilarious clips from the episode, which you can check out after the jump. Be sure to catch the “Basic Geneology” episode of Community on NBC this Thursday at 8/7C.
