FX Orders A Fourth Season Of ‘Sons of Anarchy’

by Matt Raub, Oct 8 2010 // 10:00 AM

While shows like My Generation and Lone Star may be suffering on the bigger networks, cable network FX seems to be doing just fine with their  lineup. As an example, they have just ordered a whole new season of Sons of Anarchy, rounding it up to a total of four years. An FX press release gives us the full details.

FX has renewed its critically acclaimed hit drama Sons of Anarchy for a fourth season, placing a 13-episode order from Fox 21 and FX Productions, announced John Landgraf, President and General Manager, FX Networks.

Eight all-new episodes remain in SOA’s current third season airing Tuesdays at 10pm et/pt, and beginning in two weeks the encore runs will air Tuesdays at 11pm and 1am, Fridays at 10pm and Sundays at 10pm. The third season finale will air on Tuesday, November 30.

In 2010, Sons of Anarchy ranks as basic cable’s number one scripted series in delivery of Adults 18-49. On a weekly, multi-telecast basis, Sons of Anarchy delivers 8.6 million Total Viewers and 5.9 million Adults 18-49. On a first-run, primary telecast basis, Sons averages 4.9 million Total Viewers and 3.4 million Adults 18-49. It is the highest rated series ever for FX.

Get A Sneak Peek At The ‘Futurama’ Premiere

by Matt Raub, Jun 14 2010 // 3:00 PM

Good news, everyone. Futurama is returning to TV! But you already knew that, didn’t you? For those who didn’t, the epic sci-fi animated series received a stay of execution from the benevolent Comedy Central, who originally obtained the rights to syndicate the show and air all of the direct-to-DVD movies.

The new series picks up on June 24th, but we’ve got a brand new look at the first episode today. There was a bit of panic for a while on whether or not Comedy Central was willing to pay the original voice cast to return to the show, but that was almost immediately quashed, and they’ll all be returning.

The franchise had moderate success after it’s series of DVD movies, all of which were syndicated on Comedy Central. Much like Family Guy, it seems that the fans just won’t let this show go down. Check out the brand new clip after the jump, and you’ll see that, just like they’ve done in the past, even this scene has a few tongue-in-cheek lines on where they’ve been, and how they are back on the air.

Check out the clip after the jump, and join Bender, Leela, Fry, and the whole gang as they return on Thursday, June 24th, at 10/9C.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ Creator Kurt Sutter Gives Us Just the FAQ

by Chris Ullrich, Feb 25 2010 // 1:00 PM

Former The Shield writer/producer and current Sons of Anarchy creator/exec. producer/writer Kurt Sutter has a blog and on it he tells it like it is about working in Hollywood, making the show, the motorcycle culture and pretty much anything else he damn well pleases. He’s also recently posted a list of frequently asked questions about his show, Sons of Anarchy, that he obviously gets asked, well, frequently.

The questions are some of the typical ones a successful person in Hollywood who is producing a well-known and respected show gets asked. In fact, he’s probably heard these questions so may times he’s lost count. Hence, the FAQ. Really, if you think about it, Sutter is not only providing a great show for us to watch but also a valuable public service as well. Gotta hand it to the guy.

Some of the highlights of the FAQ include:

I have a great idea for the show, can I send it you?

No. I cannot accept any ideas, pitches, stories, scripts, notions or dreams from anyone. It’s a legal issue. It protects me and you. If you send it, post it or email it — it will be shredded, removed and deleted. Sorry.

I want to be an actor on your show, how do I audition?

What You Missed: ‘Community’, ’30 Rock’, ‘The Office’ and More

by Joe Gillis, Nov 20 2009 // 12:30 PM

Community-joel-mchale-chevy-chaseAs we’ve started to do here at the site, we again present a bit of a recap of what you missed if you didn’t watch some of the best comedies currently on television this week. These shows, including Community, 30 Rock and The Office, represent what happens when you get highly creative and extremely funny people together to make a television sitcom. In short, they definitely bring the funny.

This week we’ve got clips from Community, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, The Office and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, mostly because his guest is the terrific Katey Sagal from one of our favorite non-comedies Sons of Anarchy — a show you should be watching. So sit back, relax and spend a few minutes enjoying what these show have to offer.

If you’ve never seen any of these episodes, then you’re in for a treat. If you have, then there’s nothing wrong with laughing at them all over again. Besides, laughter is good for you.

Check out all the video after, you guessed it, the jump.
