Its Monday so that means new episodes of NBC’s Chuck and Heroes. We know you’re watching both of these shows but just in case, we’ve got some preview clips for you from the episodes to get you in the mood.
Tonight’s Chuck features guest appearances from the very beautiful and talented Kristin Kreuk and the dangerous Stone Cold Steve Austin. Get an introduction to their characters in “Chuck vs. First Class” in the two clips after the break.
On Heroes, Noah Bennett starts his plan to take down the Sullivan Brothers Carnival and, of course, things don’t go quite as he planned. Tune in for new episodes of both shows starting at 8/7c.

It should come as no surprise that we love Chuck here at The Flickcast. We cover it quite extensively and bring you as much info about the show as we can. We are also still hanging in there for Heroes, even though the show sorta seems to be heading down the wrong path. Although, Greg Grunberg assures us that the show is not being canceled, so its got that going for it.
This week Chuck settled into its Monday slot and Heroes was all new as well. If you missed the episodes, we’ve got some video for you to help you keep up with what’s going on with your favorite reluctant spy and your used to be favorite people with special abilities.
If you saw the episodes already, well, just watch these recaps and previews for next week anyway. We would appreciate it and I’m sure NBC would as well — especially if it gets you excited to watch Chuck and Heroes next week. Check out all the video goodness after the jump. You can also watch full episodes at NBC’s website.

Listen up Heroes fans. Mind-reading cop Greg Grunberg is convinced Heroes will be back for another season. This is certainly great news for anyone still watching the show and concerned about the ratings. Keep in mind, this is his opinion, and does not necessarily reflect that of the network.
Grunberg made his renewal prediction while attending the People’s Choice awards, “We wrapped yesterday and the [final episode] is nowhere near a series finale…It is cliffhanger-y and exciting, but it is nowhere near an end to a series that people are so invested in. It does not tie everything up in a neat bow… I don’t have any doubt that the show will be back.”
It’s a bold statement to make. Just because the season finale is “…nowhere near a series finale…” does not guarantee the show will return next season. Let me present Exhibit A: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. That wasn’t a series finale either, and we all know what happened to it (here’s a hint, Fox canceled it).
That said, I hope Heroes viewers do get their show back. Fortunately, Heroes has some other things going for it other than Grunberg’s gut instinct. The series has solid DVD sales and a strong international following. Further, Heroes was the top pirated TV series of 2009. Okay, that may not be the best endorsement given the legalities (or lack there of) involved. Regardless, it is a strong indicator that people are watching the show.
At the end of the day I think as long as NBC can continue to sell ads alongside Heroes it should last. With shows like Dollhouse and the aforementioned Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles getting axed there’s less genre programming to watch. In that, Heroes may find a resurgence in viewers as similar options in programming continue to dwindle.

In honor of the fast approaching Thanksgiving holiday, our pals at NBC have sent us some clips from tonight’s episode of Heroes with a Thanksgiving theme to them. Sure, we know this seems like blatant promotion for a show that people are saying is dead, and, well, it is. Still, many of us here at The Flickcast continue to watch Heroes (Chris, I’m talking to you) so this post is for them.
In these new clips, we’re treated to scenes of domestic and family bliss that only happen on a show about people with super powers and the other people who want to kill them once in a great while. Actually, it usually happens around the holidays. Go figure. Anyway, in the first clip, we on the set and hear the cast give some insights into what you can expect on tonight’s episode. They also talk about their own personal Thanksgiving dinners.
There’s also two sneak peeks at the episode. One in which the Bennet family tries to reunite for a friendly dinner, but ends up in a tense encounter when Noah’s girlfriend appears. Awkward. In the other clip, Nathan and Peter struggle to get answers out of their mother to explain the disappearance of Nathan’s body. Good luck with that.
Check out all three clips after the jump. Heroes airs tonight at 8/7C on NBC.

Among all the shows either starting fresh this Fall or coming back, Heroes still has a special place in our hearts. Sure, the show might have lost its way a bit during the last couple seasons, but compared to many other shows on TV, its still got some compelling characters, interesting storyline and is often just plain fun to watch.
Of course, we’ve been keeping tabs on the developments of this coming season and have even managed to bring you a few bits of info here and there to help build your excitement for the shows’ return. Now, we’re at it again and have a couple more videos to share with you today. As usual, these videos are designed to give you some crucial information and insight into the characters and situations that will be the focal points of this new season.
Plus, they’re also intended to show that the show’s producers and writers are taking a “back to basics” approach to the story arc for the season and will be returning to elements that made the show so great when it was first on. Fortunately, based on what I can see here, they’re definitely heading in the right direction. The other video is a more standard “behind the scenes” promo which is also pretty interesting, even to someone who used to actually work in the business.
Be sure to check out both videos after, you guessed it, the jump. Also, be sure to catch the brand new season of Heroes when it comes back to NBC on Mon., Sept. 21st 8/7c.

The new TV season is almost upon us with a bunch of new and returning shows vying for our attention. One show we’re always going to give a chance to, even if its sorta seems to have lost its way a bit, is Heroes. Previously, we’ve brought you a bunch of promos and other information highlighting the upcoming season and today we’ve got another promo for you thanks to the folks at NBC.
This one, called “Back At Their Best,” shows that our favorite characters are going to get back to basics and back to, well, their best. From what I’ve seen of these promos so far it seems the show’s producers and NBC are determined to get it back on track and hopefully return the show to the level it started out at. Because I’m a fan of the show, I really hope they can pull it off. And no, that pic of Hayden Panettiere holding a shotgun isn’t from this particular promo, I just like it. So there.
The 2-Hour Season Premiere of Heroes comes to NBC on Mon., Sept. 21st 8/7c. Meanwhile, check out this latest promo after the jump.

Our good friends at NBC have sent us a whole bunch of brand new promos for their upcoming shows debuting this Fall. One will look familiar to you and the other two are brand new, but all three look to try and up the ante for scripted network drama this season.
First up are a couple of promos for Heroes, returning for its third season on Monday, September 21. In these, we get to see which characters are coming back this time and also watch as Peter takes on a new and dangerous power. Next, there’s a couple from freshmen drama Mercy, which tells the “traditional” hospital story in a new way: from the POV of nurses including Iraq vet Veronica (Taylor Schilling) and newcomer Chloe (Michelle Trachtenberg). Mercy premieres on Wednesday, September 23rd.
Finally, we’ve got a couple promos from another freshmen drama called Trauma. In this one, a team of first responder paramedics help people by land, sea and air and also deal with the pressures of their jobs and everyday lives. This one features Cliff Curtis, Derek Luke and Jamey Sheridan and hits the air on Monday, September 28th.
Check out all the new promos after the jump.

Amidst all the excitement at Comic-Con in San Diego over Iron Man 2, Tron, Avatar, Chuck or various other properties, a little show you may have heard of, and that got its start at Comic-Con, still had a packed panel and wowed fans. I’m talking about, of course, NBC’s Heroes.
Even though, in the opinion of some, the show has been a bit rocky lately, that’s doesn’t seem to be dampening fans enthusiasm for the show’s fourth season. One of the way’s NBC tried to enhance that enthusiasm is by showing a brand new “sizzle reel” preview of that fourth season exclusively at Comic-Con a few days ago.
Well fear not if you weren’t there to see it in person because we’ve got it for you right here. This video is a brand new, extended preview trailer entitled “Road to Redemption.” In it, you’re treated to lots of cool glimpses of your favorite characters and what they’re doing next season. Plus, there may be a few surprises in store as well.
Check out all the Heroes Season 4 action right after the jump. Heroes begins its fourth season on Monday, September 24th.

Two of the show we really like here at The Flickcast are Chuck and Heroes. In the past months we’ve brought you a lot of info about these two shows and will continue to do so as long as they’re on the air — which is hopefully a long time. We also got a chance to talk with some of the stars of Chuck during this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. You can find those videos here and here.
Sadly, we missed the Heroes panel this time around (we can’t be in twelve places at once) but fortunately, our friends at NBC were nice enough to send us some video of the panel, which we’ve dropped here after the jump. They also sent us the Chuck panel as well and we’ve included that one too.
Heroes returns to NBC on Monday, September 24th and Chuck returns on a date TBD (but hopefully soon) . Check out both panel videos after the jump.

This week was, to say the least, a BIG week in comics. My personal Pull List was 23 issues of all new books. Comic stores even said how expensive a week it was just by the sheer volume of books released. I’m just doing my best to keep you informed with the newest quality and best ongoing series from around the comics world. With that said, let’s get to the pulls.
Pull of the Week:
Dark Avengers / Uncanny X-Men: Utopia #1 – Marvel – $3.99
Score: 8.5
The new superstar creative team of 2009 has finally arrived. Matt Fraction and Marc Silvestri may be the best combination of writer and artist to be placed on any series thus far this year. This one shot issue does a fantastic job of setting events in to motion for the Utopia crossover as well as the formation of the Dark X-Men team.
With anti-mutant tensions at an all time high following footage of the massacre in Alaska following the first mutant birth since M-Day coming to the public’s attention, Simon Trask and his Humanity Now organization march on San Francisco to support the enactment of a law regulating mutant breeding to prevent another incident like that in Alaska from occurring again.
They are met on the streets by another peaceful protest lead by Beast along with Northstar, Hellion, Rockslide and Pixie. Trask incites a riot to break out which ultimately results in his injury at the hands of Hellion and the incarceration of Beast. Playing off the anti-mutant sentiments, the media puts the blame on the X-Men for the riot which leads to further protests and violence around the city between the opposing groups for and against mutant rights, as well as the X-Men who put themselves in the roles of peacekeepers between the two.
The world looks on as these protests lead to further rioting to the point that the San Fran PD and the X-Men can no longer keep everything in control. Enter Norman Osborn, H.A.M.M.E.R. and the Dark Avengers. Split up and playing with kid gloves on, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Hawkeye and Ares take to the city to calm the riots.
Norman doesn’t put himself in the field but instead calls a meeting with one of his Cabal, Emma Frost. He had placed Emma in charge of making sure mutants were kept in control and promised not to intervene until she failed to uphold her side of the bargain. Norman hands Emma a folder with a large white X on it and lets her know that now is the time to think big.
As said before here on the Pull List, Fraction knows the X-Men. He can handle all of the characters expertly, much like Chris Clairemont was able to during his famous run on the series. Fraction also displays an understand of not just the major players like Cyclops, Emma and Beast. He also takes the supporting roles very seriously with his great representation of Mercury, Hellion and the Cuckoo triplets.
