Check Out Previews for Tonight’s ‘Chuck’ and ‘Grimm’ and a Bonus Preview of ‘The Firm’

by Joe Gillis, Dec 16 2011 // 1:30 PM

If you’ve been paying attention, you probably know today is Friday. Among other things that means previews for some of our favorite shows are ready and we’re going to bring them to you right here.

First up is Chuck which features special guest Rebecca Romijn. Sadly, she probably won’t be naked and sporting blue body paint but heck, she’s still nice to look at. She’s the bad guy in this week’s episode and we’ve got previews to prove it.

Next up is Grimm, a show that started slow but has gotten better over the weeks. In this week’s episode, an unsolved case returns after Nick encounters a mysterious homicide. I’m guessing that can’t be a good thing.

Finally, we’ve got a preview of NBC’s TV version of John Grisham’s novel The Firm. You may remember the movie version from several years ago which starred Tom Cruise but this one is, of course, different.

It features Josh Lucas taking over the role originated by Tom Cruise in the movie as well as Juliette Lewis and, finally getting a starrting role in a series, Callum Keith Rennie of BSG and, more recently, The Killing. Good for him. He deserves it.

Check out all the previews after the break.

Check Out Previews for Tonight’s ‘Chuck’ and ‘Grimm’ Premieres

by Joe Gillis, Oct 28 2011 // 3:00 PM

The show that would not die is back tonight with its season five premiere. I’m talking about, of course, Chuck.

Glad to see it’s getting a final season to end the story right. Chuck isn’t the only one returning tonight, though, he’ll be joined by guest stars Mark Hamill and Craig Kilborn.

Also premiering tonight is NBC’s all-new show Grimm, which looks very interesting. Potentially more interesting than ABC’s rival show Once Upon a Time. I guess we’ll see.

At any rate, we’ve got previews and whatnot for both shows after the break. So, if you’re interested (and you should be) click on through and check them out.

It all starts tonight at 8/7C with Chuck. That is, unless something happens and NBC decides to postpone the premieres due to the World Series. Could happen.

Meet the Star of NBC’s Upcoming Sitcom ‘Whitney’

by Joe Gillis, Aug 10 2011 // 3:20 PM

There’s a long tradition of standup comedians taking their act to the small screen and starring in their own sitcoms. From Seinfeld to Romano to Cho it’s a trend that doesn’t seem to be on the decline.

Adding her hat to the proverbial ring is comedienne Whitney Cummings, who’s new show Whitney is joining NBC’s Thursday night comedy block this fall.

To help get you aquatinted with this new show, and its star, we’ve got some videos for you from it right now. These two interviews with the show’s star will help you learn how her stand-up influences the show and give you an inside look at the set of the show.

Check out the videos after the break. Whitney premieres Thursday, September 22 at 9:30/8:30C on NBC.

Check Out a Preview for NBC’s New Show ‘Friends With Benefits’

by Joe Gillis, Aug 4 2011 // 2:30 PM

It’s hard not to be at least curious about a show called Friends with Benefits. After all, who among us hasn’t secretly wanted to sleep with an attractive friend and, bonus, have no strings attached? I see some hands raised out there.

That little revelation bring us to the new NBC show called, wait for it, Friends with Benefits — which has nothing to do with the recent movie of the same name, by the way. This show, which features Veronica Mars and Party Down alumni Ryan Hansen along with Danneel Ackles, Zach Cregger, Andre Holland and Jessica Lucas, is about a group of singles in their twenties and their romantic ups and downs as they try to maneuver the dating world. I know, I know.

Anyway, to help spark your interest, we’ve got some previews for the how for you right now. In them you get to meet Sara and Ryan, two close friends looking for love. Ben may be picky, but at the end of his date, he might be justified while Sara starts to worry about her future.

Friends with Benefits premieres tomorrow night (Friday) at 8/7C on NBC. I’m going to give it a shot because of Hansen. Click through to check out the previews.

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 5 2011 // 2:59 PM

With all the previews for the upcoming Syfy show Alphas we seem to run around here, you would think we’re producing the show ourselves. Sadly, no, we’re just reporting on it for you.

Not only that, it does seem pretty cool and has a very good cast, including film and TV veteran David Strathairn. Plus, it was co-created and written by comic book movie mainstay Zak Penn so we’re also interested because of that fact.

To help get you ready for all the fun, we’ve got another batch of previews for the pilot episode and the first episode of the series.

The series, in case you’re not familiar, is a procedural thriller about ordinary people with extraordinary mental and physical abilities that operate within a special branch of the Department of Defense and are tasked to investigate cases committed by others with Alpha abilities.

Click through to check out all the previews after the break. Alphas premieres July 11th on Syfy.

Watch A New Preview Clip From ‘Let Me In’

by Chris Ullrich, Sep 7 2010 // 10:00 AM

While I’m not always a fan of Hollywood’s penchant for remaking excellent foreign films almost as soon as said films have been released, I have to say I’m pretty interested in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film Let Me In. Sure, it’s an Americanized version of a film that was only released in 2008, but judging from the trailer I’ve seen and this brand new scene from the film we’ve got for you today, it looks pretty damn good and quite scary.

In case you’re not familiar with either this new film or the original Swedish version, Let Me In concerns Abby (Chloe Moretz), a mysterious 12-year old girl, who moves next door to Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Owen is a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school and because of this he forms a bond with his new neighbor.

As time passes Owen can’t help noticing that Abby is like no one he has ever met before. As a string of grisly murders occur in the town, Owen has to confront the reality that this seemingly innocent girl is really a savage vampire.

Check out the new clip from the film after the jump. Let Me In arrives in theaters on October 1st.

As a fan of the show, not something you want to miss.

by Joe Gillis, Jun 25 2010 // 3:00 PM

It’s Friday so that means previews of tonight’s shows on Syfy. This week, however, we’ve only got a preview of tonight’s Merlin to share with you. But don’t worry, this episode of the show has enough going on so we don’t really need anything else.

In the preview for tonight’s episode, called “The Fires of Idirsholas,” Merlin’s loyalty is pushed to the limit by Morgause’s plan for revenge. What will Merlin do and how will he manage to keep his word yet prevent an even bigger disaster from happening? Tune in tonight to find out.

Check Out Three New Promos for NBC’s ‘The Event’

by Joe Gillis, Jun 10 2010 // 12:00 PM

As new series go, NBC’s The Event seems to have some promise. Sure, you could make the case that the show seems like a cross between other shows like Lost and 24 but hey, those are two pretty cool shows so if this one compares to them, that might not be a bad thing, right?

The show, according to our friends at the network, is a “high-octane conspiracy thriller” which follows Sean Walker (Parenthood‘s Jason Ritter) who is investigating the mysterious disappearance of his fiance, Leila (Sarah Roemer). During the course of his investigation he “unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.” Isn’t that always the way it works these days?

But wait, there’s more. “Sean’s quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Blair Underwood); Sophia (Laura Innes), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean’s shadowy father-in-law (Gilmore Girls‘ Scott Patterson). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.”

Got that, the fate of all mankind. Dammit, those are high stakes. Sounds cool. To help you get ready for the show, we’ve got a few previews and such from it to share with you today. Kindly enjoy these after the jump.

The Event premieres this Fall on NBC.
