Comic-Con in San Diego is great event that excites the senses like no other. The sights and sounds are unlike any others (and unfortunately, sometimes so are the smells). Those of us lucky enough to see Comic-Con in person would be remiss not to allow others the opportunities to see them as well.
From beautiful women in sexy costumes to guys decked out in full combat gear and gigantic booth displays and monstrously oversized robots, visually Comic-Con has everything. And you can’t forget the celebrities.
Where else in the world could someone see Hulk Hogan signing autographs and ten minutes later find Wonder Woman having a beer at the bar. (Wonder Woman wanted to make sure everyone knows she does not encourage underage drinking). We had some other great photo galleries during the show and now we’ve got a brand new one with a bit more epicness.
As always, we send out a special shout out to the fanboys and fangirls who spent hours of hard work creating some of the best costumes we have seen. Each year, people keep getting better and this year’s Con was proof again of that.
Take a peek below at more amazing pics from Comic-Con 2011 from San Diego.

One of the very first booths I hit on the show floor this year was Bioware’s SWTOR – or Star Wars: The Old Republic – the company’s massively multi-player game set in the Star Wars universe. In development for the last five years, I was excited to learn there would finally be hands-on demos of the game both at the Con as well as off-site at the Hilton Gaslamp across the street.
To coincide with Comic-Con this year, Bioware announced pre-orders for the game on Thursday, which would allow players early access to the game as well as spiffy in-game bonuses. Given that the game’s release window is set for Holidays 2011, it made sense for the SWTOR team to leverage Comic-Con to start showing off their shiny new MMORPG.
After a roughly 45-minute wait, myself and a dozen other eager players were ushered into the booth and each seated at one of the high-end Alienware gaming rigs running SWTOR. We slipped on our headphones and were given 15-minutes on the clock to put the game through its paces. I decided to play a Sith Warrior, went through a brief intro and my character was jumped into a desert-like world ripe for the exploring.

While yesterday we brought you one of the big names on the female side of the cast for the upcoming animated Batman: Year One film with Katee Sackhoff. That’s only one half of the female firepower that film is bringing to the table, as they also managed to cast Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku as Selena Kyle aka Catwoman.
We got a chance to speak with Eliza about her role, how she managed to return to also voice Catwoman in the DC Original Short, and what she’s currently working on.
Best known for her work with Joss Whedon in both the Buffy universe as well as the star of his most recent TV project, Dollhouse, Eliza has managed to portray the “hot badass” archetype for nearly a decade now. Things are changing only slightly as she’s turning in her Doll clothes and vampire stake for a leather catsuit and whip (animated, of course).
Aside from working constantly working in front of the camera, Eliza is also working as a producer for a few upcoming projects including one for the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation.
Take a look at what Eliza had to say in our exclusive interview after the jump, and be sure to grab Batman: Year One when it hits shelves on October 18th.

During the panel at Comic-Con in San Diego Starz presented info on the second season of it’s flagship drama Spartacus. Among the info released at the panel were the fact that previous Spartacus star Andy Whitfield is “doing very well.”
The panel also introduced Whitfield’s replacement, actor Liam McIntyre who called succeeding Whitfield “a really nice challenge… a great privilege and a great honor… a great responsibility.” Big sandals to fill indeed.
Regarding the plan for the new season, according to the panel and Exec. Producer Steven S. DeKnight: “There’s an episode where we kill a lot of people. This season is just epic. It’s grand scale… It’s just a gigantic, gigantic season.” Also, a power struggle is about to emerge between Spartacus, Crixus and Gannicus, which should prove interesting to say the least.
Check out the video after the jump. Spartacus: Vengeance premieres on Starz later this year.

Right after the presentation late yesterday at Comic-Con in San Diego, Universal Pictures released the first promo images for their upcoming re-imagining of the Snow White story called The Huntsman. And to be honest, they look pretty cool.
In this images we get our first look at Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the Queen, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Sam Claflin as the Prince. The film also features Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Steven Graham and Nick Frost.
Sadly, no pics of any of them just yet. Got to get the big characters and big actor names out in front first, apparently. According to reports from the panel, the proof of concept footage from the film looked pretty good too so if these images and that fact give us a bit of hope that the tend will continue and this movie will end up finishing the sam way.
The Hunstman opens on June 1, 2012. Click through to see all the rest of the images.

Robert Kirkman is perhaps best known for his hugely popular Walking Dead series, a long-running comic franchise that last year won the 2010 Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series and just last fall landed its own TV-series on AMC. And yet, Kirkman’s SKYBOUND imprint over at Image Comics has been churning out one huge comic hit after another that have absolutely nothing to do with zombies.
I hit the SKYBOUND panel on Friday in sunny Downtown San Diego to find out just what the small company has been up to lately. With Kirkman heading up the panel, also on tap were ”The Infinite” artist Rob Liefeld, “Thief of Thieves” co-writer Nick Spencer, as well as Brandon Seifert and artist Lukas Ketner of Skybound’s recently launched “Witch Doctor” series.
The panel started with an overview of how the imprint is doing, with clear winners Walking Dead and Invincible hitting the biggest numbers in terms of sales. Kirkman’s own all-ages series “Super Dinosaur” has been rapidly gaining popularity, especially among the younger readers out there.
I may not necessarily be the comic’s core demographic, but an armor-clad, missile-equipped tyrannosaurus rex named Super Dinosaur sounds pretty damn cool in my book. I made a note to pick up an issue or two next time I hit my local comics store.

This week, we’ve been bringing you tons of coverage from Comic-Con International 2011, a great deal of which included some great interviews with the modern era “Geek Girl.” Those names were only the snack to the main course which is the ultimate geek girl: Felicia Day.
Best known for several shorts on the web from Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog to her own series with MSN, The Guild, Felicia has lately shifted over to the world of TV with an upcoming stint on Syfy’s Eureka.
So now after taking over our internet tubes and our TV boxes, what’s left for geek goddess Felicia Day? How about the rest of the year off?
Looks like it takes a lot out of one to be in so many places at once, so she’ll be taking the rest of this year off to focus on writing and a few other low-key projects.
Take a look at what else Felicia had to say about her upcoming sabbatical and her role on Eureka. Also, be sure to keep it here for more interviews and exclusive content straight from San Diego Comic-Con 2011.

Legendary Entertainment, one of Hollywood’s smaller production firms, came to San Diego Comic-Con for the first time this year to talk about some of their upcoming films currently in pre-production. I sat down Friday, not sure what to expect, however I was excited to learn more about their upcoming films and hear from some of the directors and stars themselves chat about their various projects.
First up was the ‘Pacific Rim’ panel, presided over by acclaimed writer, producer and director Guillermo del Toro. His new flick stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Rinko Kikuchi and in Guillermo’s own words, features “Giant f***ing robots fighting giant f***ing aliens.” Ah Guillermo, always so colorful. Set to release in 2013, the film’s plot is quite simple, but also strikes me as something we haven’t quite seen before: as aliens attack and threaten the Earth’s existence, giant robots piloted by humans are deployed to fight off the menace.

MTV has partnered with comic legend Stan Lee to produce The Seekers, an original property with the twist that its writer and illustrator will be chosen be The Man himself.
The basic outline is that, “the Seekers is the story of an ancient people who have been planted on earth and little by little start to arise” to destroy the planet, says Lee. Defending the planet are a group of heroes, whose look and background, presumably, will be fleshed out by the winning pair.
The contest itself begins August 1, when artists and authors alike will have the opportunity to submit their work through a nomination page on MTV.com. At the end of the month, “MTV Geek’s editorial team will narrow the pool down to 20 and feature their work on the site.” From there, visitors to the site will vote for their favorites, winnowing the selections down to five stories and five artists for Lee and MTV Geek to decide on. The winners will be announced at New York Comic Con in October.

A few days ago, we brought you the final trailer for Adult Swim’s newest show, NTSF:SD:SUV::, one that we’re pretty excited about. The premise is that this show is to CSI, NCIS, and 24 like how Childrens Hospital is to Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and House.
With a pretty amazing cast including Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager), Rebecca Romijn, Rob Riggle, and Martin Starr, the show was a pretty big success here at Comic-Con, as it debuted to a full audience on Thursday during its first panel.
We got the chance to speak with the man who came up with the idea as crazy as this: Paul Scheer. Some may know him from VH1′s I Love series, and some may know him from FX’s The League, but everyone will soon know him as the lovechild of Jack Bauer and Horatio Caine, Trent Hauser.
Paul talks about his inspiration of the show (a pretty tough question), some of the great guest stars he’s got lined up for this season, and thoughts on a possible crossover with the sister show Childrens Hospital.
Take a look at our interview after the jump, and be sure to catch NTSF:SD:SUV:: every Thursday night on Adult Swim.
