Since last week’s Comic-Con in San Diego, many of the millions of Twilight fans have been anxious to get a glimpse at what the members of the New Moon panel got to see in the legendary Hall H. Most of that footage probably won’t be leaked online for some time, but one thing we do get is an image of the illustrious vampire clan, the Volturi, from the new film.

The Volturi, according to Twlight lore, is one of the oldest vampire clans, operating from the city of Volterra, Italy, eating people and hunting werewolves whenever they choose. In New Moon, Edward rushes to the clan for a solution, which is when we get the first appearance of the dark group. Don’t expect to see much of them, as the Volturi have a more prominent role in Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in the series. Check out the image in full after the jump.

I realize its been at least a few days since we had anything here about Twilight, so in order to not further disappoint fans of Stephanie Meyer’s creation, I’ve got some new info for you right now. This time around, as first announced by The Flickcast friends MTV’s Splashpage, the long-anticipated Manga adaptation of the Twilight saga will finally, um, see the light of day from Yen Press.

According to the site, Twilight is “officially” coming to comics but sadly, at least for fans of the films, you won’t be treated to super-realistic versions of Meyer’s characters taken directly from the movies. Instead, “certain” features unique to Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon actors such as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will influence the drawings by Korean artist Young Kim. Although I’ll bet even though the intent is not to make the characters in the Manga look exactly like the movie’s actors, it will end up looking a lot like them once the Manga is released.

But don’t worry, even if the artist does stray away from the actor’s likenesses, the Manga will still have the Twllight seal of approval because Meyer will oversee every panel and detail of the project. Based on the story’s description in the article, it seems the Manga will be a straight adaptation of the existing stories, which makes sense and is probably the easiest to do. Also, there’s no word yet on how many books are currently planned but be sure if it sells well (and it will) there will be a bunch of them.

Its too bad they don’t have this ready now and can sell copies at next week’s Comic-Con in San Diego right after the Twilight panel finishes up in Hall H. If they did have the Manga ready, you can be sure they would sell every single copy and probably have hundreds of back orders as well.

Coming off of the huge Twilight Saga success during last week’s MTV Movie Awards, Cam Gigandet, who plays James, the vampire baddie in the first film, has just been cast as yet another vampire.

This time, it will be in a Screen Gems film adaptation of the comic book Priest. From The Hollywood Reporter:

Gigandet will star opposite Paul Bettany in “Priest,” a horror Western that Scott Stewart is directing for Screen Gems.  Adapted by Cory Goodman from a TokyoPop comic book, “Priest” is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires and follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.  Gigandet plays a young wasteland sheriff who is part vampire. He partners with Bettany to save the girl he loves, the niece. That latter part has yet to be cast.

Gigandet won an MTV Movie Award for his fight sequence with Robert Pattinson’s Edward in Twilight, and also won the previous year for his fight in the film Never Back Down, making him the first actor to win the award two years in a row.

The young actor can next be seen starring opposite Jenna Malone in the drama Five Star Day and opposite Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid in the Sci-Fi Horror Pandorum.

UPDATE - Apparently, according to a new interview at MTV Splashpage, Cam won’t exactly be playing a vampire in the new film. However, he is in the movie and it does contain “vampire-like” creatures. Draw your own conclusions from the interview posted after the jump.
