Yesterday we posted a new video showing off the Auto-Tune The News guys and the master of the auto-tune himself, T-Pain. In the video, there is cool button on an iPhone that kicks off the song, allowing everybody to have the melodic and rhythmic styling of Mr. Pain. We thought it was fiction, but it turns out that the app is not only real, but is as amazing as it sounds.
From Smule, the developers of the highly popular Ocarina app, comes “I Am T-Pain”, a fully functional auto tuner for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app allows you to have perfect pitch and melody just like every other song you hear on top 20 radio today, by simply pushing a button!
You can choose to go A Capella and make your own music, or use some premixed instrumentals of popular auto-tuned songs like “Bartender”, “Kiss Kiss”, “I’m Sprung”, and “Dreamgirl”, all of which are free. For $0.99, you can buy a few other premium songs such as T-Pain’s hit “Buy U a Drank”, “Freeze” and more.

Though its a viable source of daily information, we all accept that watching the news can be pretty boring. Whether it’s C-SPAN, CNN, or Fox News, unless you’re really invested in the subject matter, it can put you to sleep in a matter of minutes. Back in April, a few clever college students found out that the news can be so much more, if only sung in the right key.
The first Auto-Tune the News started on April 11th, with a series of clips taken from news networks, cut up, and auto-tuned to a beat. The outcome was pretty impressive, and they’ve been cranking out new episodes on a nearly monthly basis.
Yesterday, the 8th episode went live, and it includes a range of topics from dragons to geese to Michael Vick. Take a look at the video below, buy the MP3 here, and you’ll probably never listen to Joe Biden the same way again.

Normally, Fan Film Friday is reserved for a web video that relates to this weekend’s big release in theaters, but seeing as how this weekend is bringing us Eddie Murphy’s Imagine That and The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, there isn’t a whole lot to spoof here.
On this week’s episode of The Flickcast, both Christina and I shared our love of A Cappella, which brings us to this week’s FFF. Most people are aware of Andy Samberg’s half-joke musical group The Lonely Island from their digital shorts on SNL. Samberg was even proven to be big enough in his demographic to host this year’s MTV Movie Awards.
Some of their more popular songs have become apart of pop culture today, with one or two standing out. The one I’m referring to? “I’m On A Boat”. Originally performed with T-Pain, the song was a pretty big hit on the ‘net and even inspired the A Cappella group “Acquire A Cappella” from UC Santa Cruz college to do their own version.
Check it out after the jump.
