We here at The Flickcast have been reporting a lot on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which smashes into theaters and IMAX screens on June 24th. Great news, right? Well, not so much for the excited fans of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, whose IMAX release is getting delayed due to epic robot fighting.
Slashfilm is reporting that due to Paramount’s deal for a four week long IMAX run for Transformers, the sixth film in the Harry Potter series will have to be released in IMAX on July 29th, two weeks after it’s initial release in regular theaters. This delay is a primarily a result of a Warner Bros. decision back in November 2008 to push back the release of Harry Potter.
With movie tickets already at a ridiculously high price and IMAX tickets even more expensive, are either film worth checking out in IMAX? Maybe so. The IMAX cut of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will contain 12 minutes of 3-D footage not available in regular theaters, similar to the IMAX release of the last film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The IMAX version of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will also be longer and feature scenes shot with IMAX cameras, which is something we haven’t seen since last years smash hit, The Dark Knight.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince hits theaters July 15th.
Happy Monday to all and its time for another trip to Michael Bay’s world where robots fight it out for domination of our planet and the good robots have the help of a few extremely attractive humans like Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel. In this latest clip, showing exclusively over at AOL’s Moviephone site, we get to see Duhamel’s character in action with some of his soldier buddies as they attempt to engage some Decipticons in a little firefight.
As usually happens in movies like this, things don’t go exactly as planned and our human heroes get way more than they bargained for and end up fighting for their lives. Plus, a lot of stuff blows up and there’s a bit of running, yelling and a lot of shooting. Still, even though these clips are all starting to look a bit the same, that doesn’t mean the movie doesn’t look cool.
In fact, the more I see the more I want to see. Guess that’s the desired effect — and in my case, its working. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters July 24th.
Its Thursday so that must mean its time for some brand new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen photos. With only a couple more weeks until the film opens, we will most likely begin to see even more stuff from the film then we already have. You can probably expect more photos, more trailers and more of your favorite Transformers actors to be making the rounds on talk shows, websites and the like.
In these new pics, courtesy of our pals at MTV Splashpage, we’re treated to more shots of stars Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel, some cool robots and, of course, the obligatory “Megan Fox in jeopardy” photos. As we’ve probably said before, seeing these photos makes us very interesrted in the film because they just look so darn good. That’s something director Michael Bay has never really had a problem with, his movies always look great. Its the other stuff like story and character he sometime has a problem with.
Still, there’s no denying he knows how to direct action, move a camera and make his stars, human or otherwise, look as good as possible. And believe me, it takes talent to do that. It doesn’t happen by accident. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24th.
Not to put much of a spin on it this time but here’s the brand new international poster for Michal Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen — which has appeared at MySpace Movies.
And here’s all you need to know about it: Its big, its awesome, its got Megan Fox and robots who transform into all kinds of cool vehicles and blow stuff up. What more could you possibly need? Wait, don’t answer that.
The movie hits theaters, and probably destroys them, on June 24th. Check out the full sized poster after the jump.
It seems to be “film footage day” today here at The Flickcast what with clips from The Twilight Saga: New MoonandG.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra having already dropped. Now, we can add another movie to that growing list because we’ve got footage from Michael Bay’s sequel to Transformers, known as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, to bring you too.
In this new TV spot, we’re treated to, of course, more LaBeouf, more action, more robots, more explosions and much more Megan Fox (which is never a problem). Also, we get a glimpse of some new faces in the robot repertoire including what might be Ravage.
But you really have to squint hard to see it. Of course, its also possible I just thought I saw something I really didn’t see. Guess I’ll watch it again to be sure — and so should you. Check out all the footage after the break.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24th.
Update: We’ve also got the footage shown during last night’s MTV Movie Awards from the film as well. Be sure to check that out after the break too.
Here it is, the first picture of the top secret baddie from the upcoming Michael Bay sleek, action packed explosion-fest Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Courtesy of the folks over at MTV, this is the first time the new evil robot has been reveled to the public. This robot, called The Fallen, is the overlord that runs the Decepticons and is, as the film’s star Shia LeBeouf puts it:
“It’s the design of the Transformer you see in the symbol, almost — at least, that’s where the jump-off point of the idea was spawned from,” LaBeouf said of the inspiration for Michael Bay and his team of robot designers. “That was the initial spark of his look, the actual Decepticon logo — which is cool.”
Of course, Megatron was the big bad in the first Transformers movie but by the end of that film, things weren’t going so well for him — being sent to the bottom of the ocean and all. Asked what the Fallen’s relationship to Megatron is and how he fits into the Transformers movie hierarchy, LaBeouf explained: “It’s the Emperor and Darth Vader — it’s that kind of situation,” LaBeouf said. “He’s the main villain. He’s a badass. He has to be.”

Not to beat a dead horse, but Terminator: Salvation kind of sucked. We reviewed the film last week, and it wasn’t much to rave about. The one part in particular that seemed to stick out the most in the haystack of crap was how similar the film looked to Michael Bay’s Transformers.
The trailer mash-up masters over at Black20 felt the same way, and now you can see the havoc that is brought on by The Transforminators.
In the 1986 animated classic, Transformers: The Movie, guitarist and songwriter Stan Bush gave us the musical classics known as “Dare” and ”The Touch“. Apparently, Bush also submitted tracks for director Michael Bay’s 2007 live-action Transformers film but was told by the filmmakers that they weren’t interested.
This time around, and in hopes of landing a spot on the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack, Bush has recorded an updated version of “The Touch”, dubbing it “Sam’s Theme” — obviously referring to Shia Lebouf’s character, Sam Witwicky. But that’s not all.
He’s also put together a music video as well to help sell the idea to Bay and company. On May 14th, this version hit YouTube and received, shall we say, a less than stellar reception from fans. Undeterred, Bush posted a re-edit 2 days later and included more footage from the the live-action Transformers films.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24th. Until then, check out this video featuring a guy you have to admire for not taking “no” for an answer.
With all the informationcoming out about new TV schedules which we will, of course, discuss on The Flickcast, let us not forget that some big, cool new movies are also in the pipeline over the next couple months. One such big, cool new movie is Michael Bay’s soon-to-be-a-blockbuster sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Previously, we’ve brought you some trailers and cool posters from the film.
This time, thanks to my former collegues at Cinematical, we’ve got some brand new pictures from the film to share. These pictures show various scenes from the film and, of course, the film’s stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox (looking great as always, btw). Sadly, no action shots this time or big explosions to showcase. Maybe next time.
On thing you can say about a Michael Bay film, regardless of your opinion of its other attributes, is that it looks really good — and these pictures continue that trend. This movie looks great.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens June 24th. Meanwhile, be sure to check some of the pictures in a bigger size after the jump.
Over at MTV’s Movie’s Blog, they’ve got some brand new one-sheet promo posters for the upcoming sequel to Transformers called, of course, Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen. I’m not going to lie to you, these posters look pretty darn cool and depict some of your favorite Transformers, including Optimus Prime, the ever-faithful Bumblebee and the evil Starscream, in all their updated, ILM enhanced cinematic glory.
What more can I say, these are great images and this movie, based on what we’ve seen so far, looks to be even bigger, badder and louder than the first one. If you’re a fan of this kind of movie, love the Transformers and thoroughly enjoyed the first go-around, you should be psyched for the sequel. I know I am. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24th, 2009.
On the left is a smaller version of the Optimus Prime poster. You can see bigger versions of all three posters after the jump.
It won’t be “officially’” released until the end of the week, but that hasn’t stopped an enterprising person, or persons, from leaking the latest Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer online and posting it at YouTube. So, while you are still able to watch this and enjoy it before it gets taken down by the studio, you should, you know, watch it and enjoy it.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters on June 24th.
Update: Well, that didn’t take long, did it? The trailer is now gone. Hope you got to see it while it was there. If not, it will be back on Friday so hang in there.
Updated again: The trailer can now be seen over at Yahoo movies. Enjoy!
Previously on The Flickcast, the team discussed, among other things, the remake of campy horror classic Piranha and the casting of Elizabeth Shue in a lead role, the sad performance of the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles season finale and who should not play Captain America in the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America.
On this week’s episode, the team delved into the death of author J.G. Ballard, discusses the latest footage released from Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen, decides if breaking J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit into two movies is a good idea and digs deeper into porn. Yes, that’s right, porn. Well, at least porn parodies of popular movies and television shows.
The team also made some great pics again this week including Matt’s choice of two movies, Crank 2 and Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle, Christina’s recommendation of a great television show called Oz and Chris’ picks State of Play with Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck and Star Trek: The Original Series on DVD to help get you ready for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming reboot of the franchise. Speaking of Star Trek, don’t forget to head on over and visit our friends at The Icon Factory to grab your very own shiny icons based on the upcoming film. They’re really cool.
