‘BSG: The Plan’ Hits Blu-ray on Oct. 27

by Joe Gillis, Jul 20 2009 // 7:00 AM

six-boomerAs we may have said once or twice before here at The Flickcast, we really like Battlestar Galactica. Sadly, the original series has come to an end. However, as sad as that is, we at least have Caprica and the TV movie The Plan to look forward to.

Speaking of The Plan, which premieres later this year, Universal as just given us the scoop that they will be releaseing a Blu-day version of The Plan on October 27, the same day they drop the standard-def DVD.

Here’s the info from the official press release:

New ‘Warehouse 13′ and ‘Eureka’ Clips

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 14 2009 // 3:00 PM

tricia-helferWith Comic-Con in San Diego a little over a week away, news coming out of the big networks and movie studios is starting to slow down in anticipation. It makes sense that they want to wait and announce anything really big next week when they can be sure to get as much exposure as possible to their intended fans. Fortunately, there’s still some things coming out this week we can share with you.

Case in point are these two new preview clips from SyFy’s Warehouse 13 and Eureka, which are not even on Hulu yet. The clips each highlight some of the fun and excitement these two shows will be bringing in this week’s episodes. Not only that, the Warehouse 13 clips also features the special guest star making an appearance on the show this week: BSG’s Tricia Helfer. The Eureka clip, on the other hand, goes in a different direction and features series regular Erica Cerra signing Fabulous Baker Boys style on a piano. I’m sure its all in good fun.

Warehouse 13 airs tonight on SyFy at 9/8C and Eureka airs Friday at 9/8C. Meantime, click through to check out the clips from both shows.

New Clips From Fox’s ‘Human Target’ Now Online

by Chris Ullrich, May 21 2009 // 9:00 AM

tricia_helfer1We previously brought you word about this series a few days ago with news of the deal being made for the show and the premiere of the first trailer. Now, over at Sci-Fi Wire, they’ve got a bunch of new footage for Fox’s upcoming series Human Target and we’re here to share some of it with you.

The show, which features Mark Valley (Fringe and the under-appreciated Keen Eddie), Tricia Helfer (BSG), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) and Chi McBride, centers on a bodygard named Chance who has a rather unique way of protecting his clients: he assumes their identities and becomes, in effect, the ‘human target’ to keep them safe.

Human Target, which is based on the DC comic created by Len Wein, Carmine Infantino and Dick Giordano, premieres in January. But in the meantime, take a look at one of the clips below. For the rest, head on over to Sci-Fi Wire.

First ‘Human Target’ Trailer Hits the ‘Net

by Chris Ullrich, May 19 2009 // 9:00 AM

mark_valleyLast week we brought you news of this new Fox series before and were able to drop some details about the show based on the DC comic, its stars Mark Valley (formerly of Fringe and the under-appreciated Keen Eddie) and Tricia Helfer (from BSG, of course) and some other tidbits. But sadly, at that time, we didn’t have anything to show which would help you, and us, get a feel for how the show would look and help figure out if it might be good or not.

Fortunately, that’s no longer the case because today there’s a brand new trailer for the show to fill in those missing pieces. In this new trailer we finally get to see not only Mark Valley as Christopher Chance, but several of the other series cast including Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride. We also get to see Tricia Helfer looking great as usual and doing action which is good fun.

The three-minute trailer offers a pretty good first impression of the acting, tone and action the series is going to offer. Looks pretty good to me. I guess we’ll find out for sure when Human Target debuts on Fox in january. Meantime, check out the trailer below.
