April Fools??? Unfortunately for all you Twins fans, it looks like this is no joke. The sequel to the 1988 comedy film Twins, aptly named Triplets, is set to add a third brother to the mix and it looks like that brother will be played by Eddie Murphy.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito have already attached themselves to the sequel to the original film which featured the duo as “experimentally conceived” twin brothers.

At first, having a black triplet seems completely crazy, but considering that in the original they tried to to have two brother who could not be more different from each other. What could be more different from those two than a black guy?

Eddie Murphy is definitely a safe choice for the role as he is no longer the edgy comedian he once was, but is he still a big enough draw for him to be a value. Let’s be honest he hasn’t had a successful film in years. His last film which is still in theaters, A Thousand Words, is a box office failure.

The story of The Lorax has never felt right to me. Either the Once-ler is the most short-sighted whatsit in the world, next to the Lorax himself (or at least the forest creatures), or the entire tale is a buried parable on the importance of stable property rights. Given Seuss’s general lack of subtlety when making a political point, the latter probably isn’t the case. In any event, why does no one preserve the Truffula trees? If the Once-ler owns the forest, and his business is based on the Truffula trees, why on earth would he practice clear-cutting?

He, like pretty much every other private timber company that owns the forest they log, has an incentive to preserve the forest (unless he’s renting it from the creatures, but that doesn’t seem to be the case) – clearly the Once-ler needed to fire his business planner. Or, once the land had been deforested, should have sold it and the seed to another logging concern.

Heck, they’d probably seek him out, since Truffula trees are a hot commodity, and there’s a lot of Thneedians; we already know that one of the characters is a budding entrepreneur, it’d be a lot easier and a lot more profitable for him to replant the forest than find a way to sell air. Evidently the Thneedians don’t understand marginal utility, but that’s okay, what gets me is how Seuss (and the movie) stacks the odds in his favor.

Last year didn’t have many major hits, but one film that managed to sneak past critics and turned out to be one of the highest grossing films of the year was the animated film Despicable Me. Bringing in both kids and adults alike, the film was able to prove that Pixar isn’t the only studio to produce quality CG-animated films.

Now, from the same studio, and the man who brought us The Cat in the Hat, comes The Lorax. For those who aren’t aware of this lesser known Seussian tale, here’s a breakdown.

From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a 12-year-old as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

The film has a pretty awesome cast, featuring Danny DeVito, Zac Eforn, Betty White, Taylor Swift, and Ed Helms. We’ve got a bit before the film hits theaters on March 2nd, but you can check out the trailer after the jump.

If you haven’t been keeping up, we’ve been having a very Sunny week as we bring you interviews with the cast of FX’s raunchiest comedy as the show enters its sixth season. Now, we have a bit of a good news/bad news situation.

The bad news is that today is our last interview for the show. The good news is that it’s with comedic legend of film and TV Danny DeVito. Danny joined the project a few seasons back, and ever since, he’s been on an on-screen downward spiral of humanity, and it couldn’t been funnier.

While this brings his career full-circle from working on Taxi decades ago, we also had to ask him of his thoughts on ever playing The Penguin again.

It’s been a Sunny fest all week long. Tuesday, we spoke with the now very pregnant Kaitlin Olson on working her new bundle of joy into the show. Yesterday, Charlie Day discussed how the gang is planning to kick him out this season, and now we come to Glenn Howerton, one of the ringleaders of It’s Always Sunny, to give us some more insight on this season.

Glenn, along with Charlie and Rob McElhenney (Mac) created the show back in 2005 and have only grown bigger and more raunchy since it’s launch. In later seasons, Danny DeVito joined the cast as Glenn and Kaitlin’s on-screen father, who has gone through his own downward spiral since his first appearance on the show.

Now, in it’s sixth season on FX, Sunny is being taken to new and untraveled territories, as the gang finally goes outside of the greater Philadelphia area this season, to “somewhere in Jersey.”

Last week, FX premiered it’s impressive sixth season of their irreverent comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to an awesome start. A few characters got married, some got beat up, and one even got…pregnant?

Well, that’s what we know behind the scenes, as star Kaitlin Olson went and got super pregnant during the break, and now the team is looking at how to work her obvious oncoming bundle of joy into the season.

We got the chance to speak with Kaitlin back in San Diego about how they plan on working her pregnancy into the upcoming season in what she calls a “Who done it” episode. A host of  recent indie films have specialized in caustic characters and unlikable leads.  Greenburg, Mother and Child, and Please Give have all featured some of the most unpleasant fictional characters of recent memory.  However, none of their characters can hold a candle to Ben Kalmen in Solitary Man, played with gleeful abandon by Michael Douglas.

The former movies at least  allowed us to believe that those characters wanted a chance at redemption.  Those characters would have liked nothing more than to assuage their guilt over their toxic actions toward others.  Not Ben.  He gets a couple of opportunities to redeem himself,  he thumbs his nose at said opportunities. He is one of the most narcissistic characters ever brought to life on film.  He’s also a misogynistic pig.

Ben is sixty years old, yet he won’t even look at a woman over twenty.  The lone exception to this disturbing rule is his current girlfriend (Mary-Louise Parker) who he keeps around because she is wealthy and has a well connected family. Ben is trying to rebuild his life and fortune after an embarrassing career-ending swindle he pulled when he was a car-salesman guru.

Disgraced and penniless, Ben tries to make up for his shortcomings by bedding as many women as is physically possible for a man his age. He treats the women with cool disregard and cruel contempt after they succumb to his charms.  He is truly awful. He espouses offensive observations such as, “No one over forty is stick-thin.”

Just because I am a chick, it doesn’t mean I am a champion of the romantic comedy. It’s quite the opposite as you’d be hard pressed to find many I care to crow about. I prefer horror and gore to a rom-com romp. There is so much drivel that tries to pass itself off as entertainment (I’m looking at YOU, Leap Year, and YOU, The Proposal), but I found this movie to be a real breath of fresh air in a genre that has long since gone stagnant.

Kristen Bell plays Beth, an art curator, who is in the middle of planning a large benefit gala. After she experiences a humiliating evening at the hands of her ex, Beth’s little sister shows up, squealing that she is engaged to be married to a man from Italy whom she has only known for two weeks. They are getting married immediately, and Beth must fly to Italy to be the maid of honor. She manages to clear a few days to attend, no thanks to her over-bearing boss played by Anjelica Huston.

During the dress rehearsal, a dashing groomsman (Nick, played by Josh Duhamel) catches her eye. The two flirt the night away, and Beth is obviously being swept off her feet. However, a misunderstanding about another woman derails her magical night, and she ends up having an impromptu pity party in a fountain with a bottle of champagne. Before she leaves, she snags a few coins from the “fountain of love,” just for spite.

A few years back, when FX decided they wanted to branch out into comedy, they put out two shows. One was about a group of people with different eating disorders and how they were dealing in comedic ways called Starved. The other, which seemed pretty low budget, was about a group of no-good residents of the Philadelphia area who constantly get themselves into self-inflicted situations that mock things like race, gender, abortion, and all things “taboo”. Needless to say, the latter show made it past the first season.

The show struggled in it’s second season, before veteran actor Danny DeVito decided to come on as producer and co-star. Now the show is bigger than ever, selling out panels at Comic-Con and entering their fifth successful season later this month. A new clip has popped up online, highlighting season five, but more importantly, a naked DeVito.
