We’ve got too much stuff to do to be everywhere so as we did for Ubisoft and Microsoft, we also skipped the Sony press conference as well. Heck, we just wanted them to apologize for all the PSN problems lately and tell us a solution had been found to actually secure their network.
As we knew that probably wasn’t going to happen it didn’t seem like a press event we absolutely had to attend. Not when we could do the same as before and rely on our friends at Geek Week for some help. Although, we did already bring you the news of the new Sony Vita.
Here’s the rest of the highlights from the Sony press conference last night:
• Sony previews MORTAL KOMBAT, UNCHARTED 3, and RACHET & CLANK: ALL 4 ONE in 3D
• Gameplay of UNCHARTED 3 is demoed, and a 3D trailer is shown
• RESISTANCE 3 is demoed in 3D; on September 6, Sony will offer a $150 sharpshooter bundle for RESISTANCE 3, which includes the game, a gun, and a Move kit
• GOD OF WAR: ORIGINS COLLECTIONS announced, with 3D support
• Sony is developing a special 24″ television with two-player splitscreen technology that will allow players wearing special glasses to play two-player games on one screen
• Kobe Bryant does a Move demo of NBA 2K12; the game is due out October 4

At a press confrence late yesterday game publisher Ubisoft’s made several announcements sure to please fanboys and girls everywhere. As we were otherwise occupied (ok, distracted by shiny Apple goodness) we didn’t make it to the press event.
Fortunately, our pals at Geek Week were there to bail us out yet again (we oe them a beer). Here’s the highlights of the Ubisoft announcements for your reading pleasure:
• RAYMAN ORIGINS announced and demoed; lots of variety, including platforming, chasing, and boss fights
• DRIVER: SAN FRANCISCO previewed
• BROTHERS IN ARMS: FURIOUS 4 footage shown, which features Stitch, Crockett, Chok, and Montana killing Nazis in a bar

As if we weren’t excited enough for Bioshock Infinite after what we were shown at PAX East, Irrational Games showed off a new trailer at E3 yesterday.
While short and a bit frenetic, the trailer gives us a taste of everything Bioshock Infinite has to offer, from the weapons and powers you’ll be wielding, the chaos and violence consuming the city of Colombia, and the fraught relationship between you and Caroline.
After the trailer was shown, Irrational Games’ Ken Levine announced that Bioshock Infinite will have some Playstation Move support, though he did not say how. He also revealed that a Bioshock game is in the works for the recently revealed PS Vita.
Bioshock Infinite will be released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC sometime next year. You can watch the trailer after the jump.

Brace yourselves for the onslaught of gaming trailers this week. It’s E3 time so it is inevitable. This one is for Ubisoft’s upcoming title Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
In Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and, well, revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.
The latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga includes new gameplay which allows players to manipulate the construct of Desmond’s memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future. Sounds cool.
We’ll try to get an in person look at his game on the E3 show floor this week. AThe game itself will be available this November for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Check out the brand new trailer after the jump.

Even if you can’t be at E3 this year, don’t worry. It’s Monday and we’re not even there yet either. Oh the benefits (and hindrances) of working on a site that doesn’t just cover games. We’ve also got Apple’s WWDC announcements today and a bunch of other stuff for a Monday.
But getting back to Microsoft, our pals over at Geek Week have put together a nice list of the highlights of this year’s Microsoft News briefing at E3. And being the nice guys that we are, we’ve gone ahead and listed it right here for your use and enjoyment (with a few added bits and comments as wel).
Also, be sure to click through for the Halo 4 trailer as well! Okay, here’s the highlights’ of what Microsoft announced this morning:
• PGA, MADDEN, and FIFA will support the Kinect later this year – Nice
• MASS EFFECT 3 will support Kinect voice recognition; you will be able to speak the dialogue choices and voice combat commands to party members
• GHOST RECON: FUTURE SOLDIER will utilize Kinect for weapon customization
• YouTube, Bing, and live television are coming to Xbox Live
• Announcement of remastered HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED ANNIVERSARY

With E3 being this week you can expect a slew of new trailers, screenshots and major announcements from video game producers, publishers and hardware companies. Among those announcements is Activision’s release of the new trailer for its upcoming title Prototype 2.
In case you’re not familiar with the game, it deals with the exploits of Alex Mercer (voiced by Barry Pepper) who wakes up on a morgue slab with no memory. Alex escapes and sets out to recover his memory and find out exactly what occurred. He soon discovers he now possesses powerful shapeshifting abilities that grant him superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, weaponry and the ability to “consume” people to gain their memories, skills and appearance.
Alex is forced to track down and consume those related to the conspiracy in order to uncover the truth. During his quest, Alex must face and overcome both the military charged with containing the incident and a horde of infected monsters who’s only thought is killing him. And that, my friends, is the basis for some great action.
Click through to check out all the awesome action in this brand new trailer. Look for Prototype 2 to hit stores sometime in 2012.

The game is set to debut next week at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles and will “continue the adventure that J.J. Abrams J.J. Abrams envisioned with Star Trek” and “boasts a stand alone story filled with action-packed combat as Kirk and Spock must work together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.”

If you’ve been curious as to when (or if) we would be seeing a new Nintendo Wii system, you can now put that curiosity to rest. Why? Because on Monday the company released a statement confirming that it will reveal the successor to the original Wii during the E3 Expo tradeshow in Los Angeles.
The new console, currently codenamed “Project Cafe,” may feature a new “Screen Stream” controller option that will provide each individual gamer with their own touchscreen display, although Nintendo did not disclose any of the console’s new features in its statement. In addition to the Wii 2 confirmation, the company also announced its earnings for the fiscal year ending March, 2011.
Net sales of ¥1,014 billion ($12.35 billion) were down 29.3% year-over-year and Nintendo’s net income fell 66.1% to ¥77.62 million ($946,110). Hardware and software sales for the United States, Nintendo’s largest market, also fell year-over-year.
Nintendo sold 15.08 million Nintendo Wii units, 3.61 million of its new Nintendo 3DS devices, and 17.52 million of its Nintendo DS portable gaming consoles in the States. In contrast, Nintendo sold 20.5 million Wii units in the U.S. last year. Globally, the company sold 171.26 million Wii units, 120.98 million DS devices, and 9.43 million Nintendo 3DS units.
So, they’re not doing so good. Good thing they’ve got something new coming out. Hopefully, it will spark interest from consumers.
Click through to tread the statement from Nintendo. The E3 Expo takes place June 7-9 at the Los Angeles convention center.
We’ll be there so be sure to check back right here for a look at the new Wii and all the other gaming news coming out of the show.
