With the pilot episode of V airing last week, things have been picking up with the show as of late. We got a chance to talk to star Scott Wolf last week about the show, and now we’ve recently got our hands on the first episode of the Official V Podcast, and it’s given us even more juicy info on the show.
Hosted by Scott Wolf, the maiden voyage of the video podcast gives us an inside peak at the special effects of the show, a few words from the show’s creators, interviews with the stars, a first look at tonight’s episode, and even a chance for you to ask one of the actors a question next time. Check out the first full video podcast after the jump, courtesy of ABC.
And don’t forget to catch the second episode of V on ABC tonight, 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central).
It’s getting colder and darker every day (at least in my part of the world), so it’s certainly time to curl up on the couch with some apple cider and some great TV, or at least that’s what I’ll be doing! While November brings us very few new TV shows, this month’s edition of Cortney’s TV Digest will let you know everything that’s going on with your favorite shows, no matter if they just premiered or have been with us for awhile.
V
A reimagining of the 80’s classic TV mini-series, Vtells the tale of aliens who have landed on Earth in peace, but secretly have sinister motives. Starring Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Scott Wolf, V premiered November 3rd to big ratings and will run for four weeks.
It will then go on hiatus, returning in March 2010 to finish the season.
It’s been two and a half decades since the original miniseries first hit TV, but now V is finally making a comeback next week on ABC, and we’ve got two new clips to give you a taste of what the show has to offer.
For those who didn’t see the original, the plot is about the arrival of a seemingly peaceful alien race on Earth, who say they have only good intentions. Slowly, however, its reveled that those intentions could mean bad things for the inhabitants of our planet. No word on how the plot will change from the original, but you could expect it to grow it’s own legs, much like Sci-Fi’s Battlestar Galactica.
In first clip, one of the cooler effects takes place. It’s the first communication between the alien race and the humans using a gigantic screen in the sky. Firefly’s Morena Baccarin plays Anna, the alien ambassador, and does a nice job of portraying a creepy calm.
In the second clip, Baccarin is joined by Scott Wolf, playing TV journalis Chad Decker in the first interview between alien Anna and the human race. Things get dicey when she asks not to be portrayed in a bad light.
Check out these clips after the jump, as well as the first 8 minutes of the pilot on ABC.com. Be sure to catch V on ABC, Tuesday, November 3, at 8pm/7pm Central.
In case you weren’t around back in 1983 when the original V was broadcast on television, here’s a little background. The show concerned alien invaders that come to earth to, well, invade and take over our planet. A small group of humans, with the help of a few aliens who don’t like what their race is doing, chooses to rebel and fight against their alien overlords. The show debuted as a well-received mini-series and then went on to a rather short-lived regular series, lasting only one season.
Now, V is back on ABC with an all new, sleeker look and some familiar cast members from some of our favorite tv shows including Joel Gretsch from The 4400, Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost and Morena Baccarin (sporting some sexy short hair) and Alan Tudyk from Firefly. Sadly, there’s no sign of Robert Englund — at least so far.
The new series debuts in the Fall on ABC. Until then, check out the trailer.
