Why they didn’t go with the title jObs is anyone’s guess.
At the end of the film, we see a comparison between the actors and the people they played, none of whom are credited. And despite spending two hours with these fellows, there aren’t many you could name. Cliched as it is to say, but that’s a metaphor for the entire film — it’s so concerned with covering all the major events in the history of Apple Computers and simply the looks of its founders and key people that it misses the mark giving the viewer a sense of what made founder Steve Jobs tick.
Granted, the movie opens with a fantastic scene of Steve Jobs (Ashton Kutcher) announcing the iPod. Kutcher’s inflection, body language, and script are dead-on as he builds the audience’s anticipation, teasing them with hints and pauses and mere suggestions — there’s a mix of delight and arrogance that’s electric. Even if you’ve never heard Jobs speak, the performance still conveys the feeling of being in the presence of a great man at the peak of his strengths
It’s too bad the film likewise peaks in this scene. We flash back to Jobs’ college years where we’re told he’s a renegade, a rebel, the guy who doesn’t wear shoes and drops acid and casually mentions to a fling that he has a girlfriend He takes a hit in a field with his girlfriend (Amanda Crew) and after copious amounts of dancing, he lies back, restless. His girlfriend queries, “You’re thinking about your parents, aren’t you?” a tear rolls down Steve’s cheek, and the audience laughs.

Let’s face it, sometimes it’s fun to check your brain at the door and watch people blow stuff up on the big screen. Well, it you do like that, we’ve got a movie for you.
It’s called White House Down and it features Channing Tatum protecting Jamie Foxx as the President of the United States after terrorist attack the White House and, well, blow a lot of stuff up. There’s a new trailer out for the movie today and we’ve got it for you.
At almost four minutes, the trailer is chock full of explosions, shootouts and all the buddy cop-ish male bonding you would expect from a movie like this. And did we mention stuff explodes? Well, it does. A lot.
White House Down hits theaters on June 28. Check out the trailer after the break.

We like cop movies and this new one, called Officer Down, looks pretty interesting. It’s got a great cast, including Stephen Dorff, James Woods, David Boreanaz and Walton Goggins, and from the trailer could be quite good.
Of course, you can judge for yourself. Check out the trailer after the break.

Back in September, DC’s animated studio announced that after Batman/Superman: Public Enemies and Green Lantern: First Flight, the next film they would be taking on was an adaptation of DC’s alternate universes storyline, and a little bit of their “Crisis” plot. The film would be a hybrid of the two, focusing more on the alternate universe where the Justice League is an evil gang called the Crime Syndicate.
Much like DC’s other animated films, this project pulled no punches with their voice talent. With names like James Woods as Owlman, William Baldwin as Batman, Gina Torres as Super Woman, Mark Harmon as Superman, and even Erica Durance as Lois Lane, the film will be packed with plenty of talent.
The fllm is set to hit DVD and Blu-Ray on February 23rd, but before that even comes, the very first clip has hit the net, featuring the Justice League facing off against some alternate universe baddies. We were able to pick out evil Elongated Man (with a mohawk), evil Black Lighting (with bell-bottoms) and even evil Vixen (with pigtails).
Check out the clip after the jump, and let us know if we missed anybody.
