It may not be as obvious as our love for movies, TV or comics, but we do love video games around here as well. One of the companies we frequently seems to purchase games from is Activision. Their titles, including the Call of Duty and Guitar Hero franchises, are among the most fun and most successful out there. Another one of their games that looks to be pretty great as wels is the upcoming Blur racing game.

We’ve had trailers and screenshots from the game previously and now we’ve got another trailer for the game to share with you today. In this one, Activision takes you under the hood and features the Bizarre Creations development team, who created the game for publisher Activision, discussing Blur’s storyline, unique driving styles, impressive stunts and more.

In case you haven’t been following our coverage of the game before, Blur is, according to Activision: “the ultimate powered-up racing experience, dropping players into heart-pumping, electrified action with multiple cars trading paint as they charge towards the finish line.” Does that sound like fun, or what?

We’ve been known to give John Travolta a hard time around here, and we don’t mean to. The guy has got some serious acting chops, and he’s still getting work after all these years. Any actor/actress that has fa diverse set of ilms like like Broken Arrow, Pulp Fiction, Hairspray, and Look Who’s Talking on a resume deserves some credit, so we’ll give it to him.

His newest film, From Paris With Love, seems to throw Travolta into a role that was definitely meant for another actor, if not many. His image in this film is something we’ve never seen before (not counting Pelham) and it’s quite refreshing to see an actor reinvent himself over and over in a span of 40 years.

In a new clip from the Pierre Morel (Taken) film, Travolta, as special agent Charlie Wax, infiltrates an enemy hideout in an unconventional way. Check out the clip after the jump, and be sure to catch From Paris With Love in theaters on February 5th.

Just because I am a chick, it doesn’t mean I am a champion of the romantic comedy. It’s quite the opposite as you’d be hard pressed to find many I care to crow about. I prefer horror and gore to a rom-com romp. There is so much drivel that tries to pass itself off as entertainment (I’m looking at YOU, Leap Year, and YOU, The Proposal), but I found this movie to be a real breath of fresh air in a genre that has long since gone stagnant.

Kristen Bell plays Beth, an art curator, who is in the middle of planning a large benefit gala. After she experiences a humiliating evening at the hands of her ex, Beth’s little sister shows up, squealing that she is engaged to be married to a man from Italy whom she has only known for two weeks. They are getting married immediately, and Beth must fly to Italy to be the maid of honor. She manages to clear a few days to attend, no thanks to her over-bearing boss played by Anjelica Huston.

During the dress rehearsal, a dashing groomsman (Nick, played by Josh Duhamel) catches her eye. The two flirt the night away, and Beth is obviously being swept off her feet. However, a misunderstanding about another woman derails her magical night, and she ends up having an impromptu pity party in a fountain with a bottle of champagne. Before she leaves, she snags a few coins from the “fountain of love,” just for spite.

For those of you waiting to see the teaser for The Losers that was supposed to drop today, forget about that. The full trailer is now online. And full trailers are always cooler than teasers.

In this trailer you see the gang in all their glory plus there’s lots of explosive, comic book inspired mayem. And really, who doesn’t love that? Based on the highly regarded comic book series by Andy Diggle and Jock, The Losers is directed by Sylvan White and features Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Oscar Jaenada, Columbus Short, Zoe Saldana, Jason Patric and Holt McCallany.

We’re all pretty excited around The Flickcast offices for February. Not just because it means warmer weather for those of us on the East Coast, but mostly because that means LOST is back on the air with its final season. We’ve been bringing you plenty of LOST tidbits from all over the web lately, and now it’s time for something even more fun.

We’ve gone into how quirky LOST fans can be before, and how much time and/or effort they put into their fanaticism (which we love, of course), but our collective hats are tipped for this little piece of fandom. This friendly YouTuber put together all of the clips from the show leading up to the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, and threw it together chronologically, with a bit of 24 flavoring.

Many props go out to YouTube’s pyram1dhead for his work on this one. He had also done the same thing for when the survivors all met for the first time at the Sydney airport. Lots of time and effort go into things like these, and we are more than happy to share it with you.

Things have been pretty quiet for the upcoming sequel to Wall Street since we caught a glimpse of some set photos with Shia LeBeouf and Frank Langella a few months ago. Since then, production has finished up and we finally have a trailer to enjoy.

The film follows almost real-time after the events of the original 1987 film. Gordon Gecko is getting out of prison, and wants back in the game, except everything is different now. Douglas joins in with newcomer LeBeouf, as well as some old friends including Charlie Sheen, Susan Sarandon, and Frank Langella.

Given where the economy and Wall Street is today, compared to 1987, you can expect this film to take an interesting turn and border on didactic. Oliver Stone is returning to helm the sequel, who’s best known for his topical films such as World Trade Center and  W, so expect to see some potshots taken at the financial climate.

Mel Gibson returns to the big screen after a personal and professional hiatus of over seven years. His last starring role was in 2002′s We Were Soldiers. Many are hailing Edge Of Darkness as Gibson’s “comeback.”  So is it?  Meh. He is fine as a grief stricken Boston Detective, but he won’t be winning an award any time soon. There are a dozen actors that could have navigated this role equally well. That’s not knocking Gibson, but it’s a pretty  generic role.

Edge of Darkness veers into spoiler territory early, and often, and I don’t like to spoil movies, so here is a spoiler-free synopsis. Gibson plays Craven,  a single dad who goes to pick up his grown daughter from the train station. It is obvious he loves her very much. She seems slightly distant. Sensing something is wrong, he implores her to tell him what it is.  Shortly after they get home, she becomes seriously ill. Craven takes her to the hospital, but as soon as they reach the front door, his daughter is violently gunned down in front of him.

The rest of the movie concerns Craven trying to uncover the mystery behind his daughter’s death. It involves government conspiracies, shady political types, evil corporations, and unconscionable greed. Because Craven has no family left, his vengeance is of the reckless variety, which too often translates into over the top.

The story of Solomon Kane is quite epic, full of demons and monsters, the actual journey of the film getting to domestic theaters seems to be even more interesting. The film has yet to be picked up by an American distributor, which means it could be some time before we ever get to see Michael Bassett’s film in theaters, if at all.

The film follows closely to the original books by Conan and Krull creator Robert E. Howard, while taking some impressive liberties with CG work and effects. The story follows the titular Kane, a priest who sells his soul to the devil tries to redeem his soul by fighting the henchmen of Hell.

Starring Rome’s James Purefoy, with MIchael Bassett adapting the screenplay and taking the helm, the film looks to be making quite a lot of noise in the critics’ circles.

Not since the earlier years of Frasier has there been a successful sitcom on TV which focused around the humor of intelligent people. CBS and Warner Bros.’ Big Bang Theory both revels and exceeds in that category, coining the phrase “Smart is the new sexy.”

This third season has gotten even better with guest stars from comic legend Stan Lee to Battlestar Galacitica’s Katee Sackhoff. The show manages to speak to the inner geek in everyone, while remaining humorous to every viewer, and remaining a steady story. From CBS, next week’s episode looks to be fun as well:

In order to solve a daunting physics problem, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) begs Penny (Kelly Cuoco) to let him work at her restaurant, while Leonard (Johnny Galecki) tries his hardest to keep the two from erupting.

While Disney may be closing it’s doors to one of their studios, we can expect to see plenty more from the giant as they plan for one of their biggest release years in some time. First up may be Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, but where some fans may be excited for that, there are many more for the upcoming Toy Story 3.

The upcoming sequel will be the first time that Pixar and Disney would return to the franchise since 1999, and nearly 15 years since it got kick-started with the first film. The whole gang will be back this time, with the exception of Jim Varney, who passed in 2000.

This time around, the toys find a new home as Andy moves to college. They find out what life is like from the clutches of toddlers in a day care…and it’s not pretty. With a script from Little Miss Sunshine’s Michael Arndt, the film is set for a release (in both IMAX and Disney’s trademarked 3-D) on June 8th.

More and more actors seem to be getting into writing comics these days and the versatile Samuel L. Jackson is no exception. Re-teeming with his Afro Samurai pals, Jackson and Boom! Studios are set to release a new comic called Cold Space, written by Jackson and Eric Calderon with interior art by Jeremy Rock.

With the final season of Lost set to premiere next week on ABC, fans of the show are obviously wondering what will happen to their favorite characters and probably have a lot of other questions. Will they ever get off the island? Did the explosion at the end of last season kill anyone or everyone? What is the smoke monster? Will Jack and Kate ever be together? Will Sawyer get a haircut?

These ,and more more, will finally be answered in the sixth and final season of Lost – at least according to promises made by the producers. In the meantime to get you primed for the show’s return, we’ve got five new clips that will hopefully entertain and maybe even answer some of those burining questions.

Oh, who am I kidding? These clips will just add even more questions to the list. We won’t know any real answers until the very last minute. But that’s okay because that’s what makes Lost such a great show — it keeps you guessing.
