Tonight, UFC is having what it is calling the biggest fight in the history of the company. Their 4-1 Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesner takes on the interim champion, the undefeated Shane Carwin at UFC 116. Almost a year since Brock Became champion by defeating Frank Mir, Brock will put his title on the line for the first time against the one man people think have a chance at defeating this behemoth.
In celebration of tonight’s match, THQ has put together a special trailer for UFC: Undisputed 2010 to help promote the fight. Not that it needs the extra promotion though. Anyone who is a fan of MMA is geared up for the match between these two heavyweights.
Upon definitely beating Frank Mir with a TKO in the second round at UFC 100, Brock addressed the crowd in less than sportsmanlike fashion when he flipped off the crowd before cutting an even more unsportsmanlike promo. Since, he has been one of UFC’s fiercest and also most hated competitors. Shane Carwin went on to defeat Frank Mir months later to earn the interim championship and is now set to face Brock to see who is UFC’s true undisputed heavyweight champion.
Take a peek after the jump at the special trailer and keep it right here for all your UFC: Undisputed 2010 news.

After launching Warhammer Online, it was only a matter of time before an MMO set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe would be released. THQ, publishers of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and its expansions and sequels, have finally announced and revealed a trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online.
Not much information has been released for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online other than more is to come at Gamescon in August. What we can tell from the trailer however is that the game will have a focus on at least three of the Warhammer 40,000 races/factions. Space Marines, the soldiers of the Imperium, may also get a hand from the Imperial Guard as well as there are some unarmored soldiers seen in battle.
Orcs, like they have always been in Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000, will be given a spotlight as foils for the Space Marines. Taking the fight to both races will be the corrupt demon worshipping Chaos Space Marines which spread violence and destruction throughout the galaxy.
Not present yet are Warhammer 40,000 staples, the Tyranids or the Eldar. It is possible that these races will be added in during future expansions. Most notably seen in the game trailer is the presence of titans, gigantic war machines that will presumably lead to epic boss battles.
Take a peek below at the trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online and let us know what you think of it in the comments.

Warhammer 40,000 is giving a double dose to this year’s E3. In addition to the announcement of the Warhammer 40,000 MMO titled Dark Millennium, Relic Entertainment and THQ have also announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine which will be coming to the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3. Relic has a lot of familiarity with the Warhammer franchise, having worked on titles such as Dawn of War and its sequels and expansions. They have also developed Company of Heroes and Homeworld.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is being billed as a third person Action RPG. Players will control a squad of four Ultramarine Space Marines as a horde of Orks attempt to invite an Imperium controlled world, though right now it is possible the chapter of Space Marines may change. During levels, players will control one of the four members of their squad, be it an Assault Marine, a Tactical Marine, a Sergeant or a Devastator Marine. Each marine type has different roles and weapons according the Warhammer 40,000 lore.
Check out the video and pictures below and let us know what you think about the first peek at Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.

Even with games like Kinectimals or Eyepet being announced, there are still some mature games at this year’s E3. Gears of War 3 and Killzone 3 have shown that the world of gaming is not for the light of heart. Following that adult trend comes THQ’s latest revelation, Devil’s Third. Below you will see the trailer of the next game from acclaimed producer Tomonubu Itagaki, head of Team Ninja and producer on games like the Dead or Alive series and Ninja Gaiden.
Looking like a combination of a John Woo movie and Gears of War, Devil’s Third may be the most violent trailer we have seen so far come out of E3. Between the sword fighting, rocket launchers, grenades, shotguns, turrets and gore, Devil’s Third looks to bring mature action platforming to a new level.
As Itagaki has shown us through his recent work on Ninja Gaiden, he can bring entertaining gameplay and merge it with shocking visuals for maximum effect. Now, not hindered by just having the arsenal of a ninja, Itagaki’s creation is poised to become his next masterpiece as the trailer boasts. Hopefully the footage shown is reflective of in game content and not just a CGI cutscene. If it is, Devil’s Third may earn its place as one of the best over the top violent video games ever.
Check out the trailer below and some concept art. Stick to the Flickcast for more news on this exciting, upcoming title coming soon for the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 as we receive it.

So E3 starts tomorrow officially while today is the Microsoft Press conference. As you have already seen, we have gotten some advanced notice on some of the happenings going on at the event. A few changes will be happening with our coverage of the event compared to last year.
This year we won’t be giving a fully detailed recap of the BIG 3 Press Conferences from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo as a formal post. We will, however, be posting our thoughts and coverage on the big announcements and trailers as well as give a full indepth discussion with Matt Raub, Chris Ulrich and myself on this week’s episode of the podcast.
We have also gotten official word from various industry sources on what companies will be showing at the event. These have come from various press releases, other industry insiders and various leaks from the LA Convention Center itself regarding the event.
There has also been tremendous speculation around the event. Some of those rumors will be examined below as well. Finally, some of my own personal E3 2010 theories and predictions will be put out there too.

If you have been following us the last few months you know there has been pretty extensive coverage of the followup to last year’s surprise hit UFC Undisputed. This year, UFC Undisputed 2010 takes the building blocks laid down before it and improves upon them for a stronger fighting experience. This year’s release added extra emphasis to the customizability of characters and their fighting styles along with deeper online play.
Realizing the value of online communities in sports games such as Madden, Yuke’s Osaka and THQ made sure to try and support the fanbase the original title already had while adding more features in an effort to establish UFC Undisputed as a yearly franchise.
Gameplay:
Much like last year, and as traditional in quality fighting games, gameplay is the strongest feature this title has. The button layout is incredibly intuitive with each of the four face buttons representing a left or right punch or kick. These can be modified using the left bumper and trigger while the right control stick is used for holds, takedowns and submissions. The right bumper and trigger provide blocks.

One of the greatest strengths of successful online games is their ability to put a strong focus on the community of players that participate within it. It doesn’t just revolve around letting players communicate with each other. It comes from a true sense of connection that they are able to establish with one another and actually feel like they are part of something bigger.
Halo 2 had clans. World of Warcraft and Everquest have guilds. UFC Undisputed 2010 looks to bring their own community together with fully functional Online Camps. In addition to fighting under a name and banner with a group of friends, players will actually reap in game benefits from participating in Online Camps. One of the key features highlighted in the video below is sparring.
Much like real life fight camps, players will be able to go to others in their camp for help on certain techniques that their teammates may be better in. In addition to the moves that can be learned from training in the game’s single player mode, this Online Camp training will provide additional skill point benefits for the players involved.
Take a look after the jump at THQ’s first peek into the world of UFC Undisputed 2010′s online fight camps and stick right for more as we get closer to next week’s release!

UFC Undisputed 2010 has been doing a hell of a job getting ready for their upcoming release on May 25th. In addition to the updated career mode and fighting styles, it proudly boosts the largest roster in MMA gaming history. While MMA doesn’t have a very extensive history in gaming, it is impressive compared to the rosters of other similarly styled fighting games.
Super Street Fighter 4, the sequel to arguably one of the biggest fighting games of all time has a roster of 35. WWE’s SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, a game similar in execution being from the same developer boasts a 67 superstar roster. By combining these two games, you are finally able to just come close to the size of UFC’s roster.
This is especially impressive considering the level of detail brought in to replicate both the look and signature in ring mannerisms of these real life combatants. The list below contains all fighters including those who will be available as DLC and those exclusive to the PlayStation 3 edition, specifically Dan Severn and Royce Gracie.
Check out the trailer after the jump revealing this massive roster as well as a full breakdown by division below.

Today is a big day for fighting games. With the trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 hitting the net and a new video being released for UFC Undisputed 2010′s Career mode, could this mean that genre that once defined the 90s could be making a move to overtake shooters as the most popular? While that statement might be taking things a little too far, it is true that fighting games have been on an upswing. With the success of last year’s UFC Undisputed and Street Fighter 4, things are definitely looking up.
In the trailer below, a first look is given at the drastic changes to the career mode of UFC Undisputed 2010. Trying to add more of a story element to the game, players will be given interactive weigh-ins and interviews where they can decide their fighters responses to create rivalries in addition to their basic training regime.
Game Tracking will allow the computer to learn your style, encouraging creativity in how someone fights. A player cannot hope to win every fight with the same maneuver. Opponents will learn and come up with strategies to counter you much like real fighters do by watching tapes before upcoming matches.
For added customizability, players don’t just customize the look of their fighter. They will be able to pick and choose the training camps available to their fighter. Different camps allow for different specialized training while working alongside experts in each discipline. Players will also take a path similar to real UFC fighters. Instead of just jumping into the UFC with full sponsorship and training, they will have to work their way from the ground up fighting in the WFA before being accepted into higher quality training camps.
Take a peek at the video after the jump and as always, stick to the Flickcast for more information on UFC Undisputed 2010 as it becomes available.

As we draw closer to its late May release date, UFC Undisputed 2010 is posed to dominate the video game fighting market. After showcasing Brock Lesner as its cover athlete and showing us a promotional video with BJ Penn, THQ has just released two new trailers to help everyone get ready for this highly anticipated release.
The first features undefeated UFC Heavyweight Cain Velasquez while the second is an interview discussing the different fighting styles already in and added to the UFC Undispured series. Cain Velasquez, a former NCAA Division 1 wrestler, is an expert in both kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, holding a purple belt. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 8-0, with seven of his wins by knockout.
Much like Penn’s video, Velasquez shows his intense training regime and in ring style spliced with him game footage of him in action. The techniques video actually acts somewhat of a tutorial for those unfamiliar with or new to the MMA world. In addition to last year’s six styles of boxing, kickboxing, Muay Tai, judo, freestyle wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, UFC Undisputed 2010 adds Greco-Roman wrestling, Sambo and Karate.
The video takes the time to explain the differences in some of these styles as well as gives an introduction to just what Sambo is as it isn’t widely practiced in America. After the jump, take a look and two brand new trailers for UFC Undisputed 2010.

UFC Undisputed 2010 is already being billed as the top contender for fighting games for this year. With Brock Lesner as its headliner and over 100 members of the UFC roster playable in the game, it may feature the most unique number of matchups on any fighting game released this year.
And as last year’s titled has shown us, it isn’t about mastering combos like Down-to-Right + Strong Punch like the classic Street Fighter II days and racking up overblown combos. It is about innovative gameplay and strategy both on the players and developers part.
Ever trying to improve on their fighting systems like they did with the SmackDown vs. Raw series, THQ has announced some additional features making their debut in this year’s UFC Undisputed 2010:
- Full upper body and head movement with a new Sway System
- New Posture System that allows for stronger, fight-ending strikes from the ground
- Introduction of Southpaw stance and the ability to change stances during a fight
- Multiple MMA disciplines, including the new additions of Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling
- Variety of new strikes, submissions, transitions and cage positions

The Apocalypse comes early and one of the horseman, War, is blamed for it. He comes to earth fighting both angel and demon alike in an effort to find out what put the cataclysmic events into effect before they were supposed to come to fruition. It could sound like the plot of a major summer blockbuster, a comic book series from Vertigo or Darkhorse or a video game. It turns out it could be all three.
In a recent interview with VG247, creative director of the recently released Darksiders game for XBox 360 and Playstation 3 Joe Madureira said that “We’ve gotten some interest from Hollywood, we’ve talked about doing a comic series… At least a couple of those things have to happen, I’m sure.”
Darksiders has already been given a special comic book pre-order bonus from Gamestop so it’s not out of the realm of possibility for a series to be in the work, especially since Joe Madureira made himself famous in the comics industry back in the 90s. The recent string of lackluster video game to movie adaptations (like Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li or Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within) might be biggest factor to overcome as time and again Hollywood has shown they don’t really have a full grasp on taking a 10+ hour game story and crunching it down into only 2 while still keeping the essence of what made that game great in the first place.
But with Joe Mads at the helm as creative director, this THQ property might have a chance of making an impact on the big screen. Check back at The Flickcast later this week for more coverage on Darksiders as well as Matt Raub’s exclusive interview with Darksiders creative director Joe Madureira.
