We can’t really put into words our feelings about Twilight and it’s various big screen treatments. Suffice it to say there’s another movie coming soon called The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and we’ve got a preview for it to show you.
Not that you need any extra encouragement to see the upcoming movie. If you’re a fan of the series you’re going to go, no matter what. If you hate all-things Twilight well, then, you probably won’t — unless you get dragged there by some weepy female. Hey, we’ve all been there, there’s no shame in it.
Sometimes you gotta do things you don’t want to do to make other people happy. Or, to get some, shall we say, action.
Whatever you’re motivations, or lack thereof, look for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One to hit theaters on November 18. In the meantime, check out the preview after the break.

We’re less than 2 months away from the third film in the Twilight Saga, titled Eclipse, to hit theaters, but that won’t slow down Summit Entertainment, as they’ve already locked the final film, Breaking Dawn, in with a release date of November 18, 2011.
Between this release date and news of Academy Award winning director Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters) joining the project, we’re getting a good amount of answers for a film that was once called by producers “unfilmable.” Questions we still need answered? Will this book be adapted into two films, much like the adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows? Also, can we expect the same 3D treatment that just about every other film next year will be getting?
This new release date puts Dawn up against some pretty heavy hitters, including Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman, from comedy director Shawn Levy, as well as Relativity Media’s Immortals in 3D, Happy Feet 2 in 3D, and the Shrek spinoff, Puss in Boots.
It’s no doubt that Dawn will take the weekend, if not the month of November in the box office, but the questions now lie with the production. Can Summit and Condon film the “unfilmable”? We should find out later this year, as Breaking Dawn starts shooting this fall.

Now that the trailer has hit for the third Twilight installment, Eclipse, Summit has begun the hunt for the lucky soul to sit in the director’s chair for the final dose of Twilight: Breaking Dawn. According to Entertainment Weekly, they’re aiming high and want no less than someone with an Oscar nomination or two under their belt.
Summit has reportedly approached Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant, and Bill Condon with offers. It’s still very hush hush, however, as only Van Sant’s representatives would confirm first contact. Summit declined to comment. Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s script outline is due next week, so it’s unlikely any serious offers can be made until everyone knows how the iffy bits are going to be handled.
Stephanie Meyer will also have to weigh in, as she has approval over every hire Summit makes. Any Twilighters know whether she prefers Marie Antoinette to Dreamgirls? What does she think of Good Will Hunting?
Of course, it may end up being none of these fine people. When Chris Weitz dropped out of the series after helming New Moon, the list of possible Eclipse directors was long and interesting: Drew Barrymore, Juan Antonio Bayona, Paul Weitz, and James Mangold were all name dropped before David Slade climbed on board.
With that in mind, do you think we can convince David Cronenberg consider the gig? If so, Breaking Dawn would officially be the first Twilight film I’d be camped out to see.

HBO is planning a half-hour comedy series with writer-director Bill Condon and Tell Me You Love Me creator Cynthia Mort. The show, titled Tilda, ”centers on a powerful female online showbiz journalist with a no-holds-barred style.” For examples of such a character you can look to online reporters Nikki Finke, Sharon Waxman and Anne Thompson. Entertainment journalists who have made a successful career online.
As traditional news outlets scale down reporting, or go out of business entirely, many reporters have found a new home online. This is especially true for entertainment and celebrity reporting. Given that, it seems only natural for a network like HBO to latch onto this transition and build a show around it.
While there has not been a lot of details about Tilda provided this, in my opinion, could be Sex and the City 2.0. A female lead, who’s a writer, dishing on relationships (in this case about celebrities). Sounds familiar doesn’t it?
Furthermore, a show such as this is ripe for celebrity cameos, and given the rich talent pool from HBO I’m sure they can pull a few strings to get walk-ons. Being a writer, specifically one who covers entertainment news, I’m interested to see how this show shakes out.

Delicate subject matter generally requires an equally delicate approach, and The C Word is no different. Showtime’s pilot starring Laura Linney (John Adams) about a suburban wife and mother recently diagnosed with cancer will attempt to mix the seriousness of the disease with a lighter spin, and they’ve found their juggler in director Bill Condon (Dreamgirls).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Condon will reunite with Linney for the first time since they worked together on Kinsey, where Linney received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 2004. While the writer, director and Oscar-winner is no stranger to sensitive subjects, as his writing and direction on 1998′s Gods and Monsters would suggest, he’s also been involved in other genres throughout his career.
Condon has managed to tackle horror in 1995’s Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and musicals in 2002’s Chicago, and was even part of the writing team for 2009’s Academy Awards ceremony.
