Twitter Giveaway: ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Limited Edition Television Score

The fine folks over at La La Land Records recently released a fantastic 3-disc collection of music from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Focusing on the music of Dennis McCarthy, Jay Chattaway and a few choice guest composers, the set features the music of some all time classic episodes. You can check out are full review on this week’s film score friday, but right now you have the opportunity to win a copy of this limited edition set.

All you have to do is follow us on twitter @TheFlickcast and @reply us with your favorite Starfleet captain and why. Now that covers a wide array of captains from the movies, TV shows,even the books, comics and video games is fair game so don’t hold back.

Twitter Contest: ‘Splosion Man’ For Xbox Live Arcade

splosion+man+coverIt’s no secret we here at The Flickcast are big fans of this summer’s Xbox Live hit, ‘Splosion Man. In addition to getting a score of an 8.5 in the review, we got some time back at San Diego Comic-Con to speak with the CEO of Twisted Pixel, Michael Wilford and even got a play through of one of the first levels.

Now it’s your turn to ‘splode. Our good friends at Twisted Pixel have sent us some download codes for XBox Live Arcade which you can redeem for the full game of ‘Splosion Man.

We’re going to be doing this givaway a bit differently than our last one. This time, through the power of Twitter, all you have to do is Retweet this story when it goes live, and a random Tweep will walk away with a download code good for this summer’s hottest XBLA game!

The Flickcast Contest: Name That Title!

contest1As we mentioned in Episode 20 of The Flickcast (which went live earlier today) we are conducting our very first online contest for some pretty sweet prizes. Those who listen to the show know that each episode has a familiar title.

Those titles are originally from subtitles of movies, with a few popular quotes from movies thrown in. All you have to do is identify as many titles and quotes as possible, and you can walk away with a pretty sweet prize package.

Join the Marvel Costume Contest at Comic-Con

marvel-costume-contest-smallOne of the great things about Comic-Con in San Diego is that fans like to dress up as their favorite characters from comics, movies and TV. But really, “like” doesn’t exactly cover it. They really, really, really like to dress up and its one of the things that makes Comic-Con attendees special: they take their fandom seriously.

What better way, then, to honor these hard core fanboys and girls than with a contest where they can win all sorts of cool prizes? Fortunately, that’s just what the folks at Marvel are doing next week in San Diego. Sure, there’s the “official” costume extravaganza at Comic-Con, but that one doesn’t feature a grand prize personally autographed by Stan Lee.

Design Your Own Transformer

Remember when you were a kid (some of you were younger or older) and you thought of some really cool designs for Transformers, but didn’t have anything to do with them? Well USA Today is giving you a chance to shine.

The newspaper has posted a contest where you come up with your very own transformer, either Autobot or Decepticon, and you’ll get an interview and your design shown in the paper, which happens have the largest circulation of newspapers in the country.
