‘Dune’ Redub

by Sebastian Suchecki, Nov 13 2009 // 3:15 PM

duneAs we sometimes say around The Flickcast HQ: “This is some funny stuff.” And sometimes, we’re actually right about that. Case in point is this parody of David Lynch’s sci-fi “masterpiece” Dune, created by YouTube user Devho89 and his pals at Sequential Pictures.

Dune, which is, of course, a big screen adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel of the same name, was met with mixed reviews and somewhat lackluster response at the box office when it hit theaters in 1984. Well, maybe the film didn’t do as well as it could have because it didn’t have these redubbed voices in it? Sure, that’s a possibly.

Judge for yourself and check out the video after the jump. Oh, and don’t forget to put your goddamn hand in the goddamn box of pain.

On The Fence About ‘BSG: The Plan’? Maybe These Clips Will Help

by Joe Gillis, Oct 28 2009 // 2:30 PM

cavil-dean-stockwell-the-planAs you probably know, the new Battlestar Galactica: The Plan movie dropped on DVD yesterday. Its a pretty good bit of entertainment (with just a couple issues) but all in all, its worth your time and money. Plus, according to Edward James Olmos, if this movie does well, we may end up with some more movies based on this franchise — which is a good thing.

So, to help those of you still on the fence about purchasing the movie on DVD or Blu-ray, we’re bringing you a lot of clips and other bits from it to hopefully help you make the right decision. These clips show a whole bunch of action from the movie itself as well as some interviews and behind the scenes info as well.

There’s quite a few of them so sit back, relax and take a few minutes to expolore the world of BSG: The Plan. Then, to help support the show and so we can have more BSG movies and so Caprica will hopefully last several years, head over to Amazon or your favorite store and get the movie for yourself.

Oh, just so we’re clear, we don’t get anything from anyone for saying this. We’re just a bunch of fans who want this franchise to continue. Ok, enough of that, enjoy the videos after the jump and then go out and support The Plan.

Review: ‘Battlestar Galactica: The Plan’

by Chris Ullrich, Oct 27 2009 // 10:00 AM

cavil-bsg-the-plan

Before I begin this review I have to disclose that I’m a huge fan of Ron Moore and David Eick’s re-imagined Battlestar Galactica tv series. From the first moments I saw it I was hooked and I followed the show religiously through its entire run. To this day I regard it as one of the finest shows ever to grace the small screen. In fact, I liked it so much I even got the entire series on Blu-ray. Yes, I’m the one.

So, when it came time to watch and review the latest Battlestar Galactica movie The Plan, I went into it with high expectations but was wondering how they were going to pull off this movie and tell this very well-known story from a completely different perspective: that of the Cylons. Much to my happiness, when I did watch The Plan, I was impressed with the way it turned out and how this rather complex undertaking was handled, with a few notable exceptions.

Before I get too deeply into anything negative, let’s talk a bit more about the story. The Cylons began as humanity’s robot servants. They rebelled and evolved and now they look like us. Their plan is simple: destroy the race that enslaved them. But when their attack fails to wipe out every human, the Cylons have to improvise to finish the job. The Plan tells the story of two powerful Cylon leaders, Cavil (Dean Stockwell) and Six (Tricia Helfer) and their determination to finish that job.

Brand New Trailer for ‘The Plan’

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 20 2009 // 3:37 PM

bsg-the-planOver at LA Times resident Battlestar Galactica supefan Geoff Boucher’s blog Hero Complex, he’s posted a new trailer for the upcoming BSG prequel movie The Plan. And being the cool guy that he is, he’s allowing us to post the video here for your viewing enjoyment.

This new trailer gives us a bit more insight into what’s going to happen in The Plan and allows us to imagine what the show will be like based on what we’re not seeing. This is the same trailer I was lucky enough to see during the recent BSG/UN event in Los Angeles and now, thanks to the kind folks at Sci-Fi and Boucher, you can see it as well.

The Plan airs on the Sci-Fi Channel in November. Take a look at this very cool trailer after the break.

A Little More of BSG’s ‘The Plan’

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 15 2009 // 11:45 AM

six-and-cylonsWhile we sincerely appreciate our pals at Galactica Sitrep for taking the time to patiently wait with their video camera pointed at the tv screen to catch another clip of The Plan, the upcoming tv movie telling BSG’s story from the Cylon side, we’re glad Sci-Fi has seen fit to release the clip so we can all watch it in better quality. Still, we love your dedication guys, don’t ever change.

This new clip showcases the acting of Dean Stockwell as Cavil as he talks to Ellen Tigh during the time when Cylons were attacking the fleet every “33 minutes” in the original series season one episode. Its a good clip and makes me want to see the entire movie even more. Its a shame we have to wait until November.

How about it Sci-Fi, want to send over a screener copy like right frakkin now? Be your best friend.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan airs on Sci-Fi Channel in November. Check out the clip after the break.
