It is really easy to sit behind a keyboard and bitch. It is really easy to fling bile at filmmakers who make films that don’t match our personal version of the movies we want to see. This has been true for as long as there has been the internet, and will likely be true for our children’s children and their children as well.
There has been a disturbing trend in the general internet fan community that has played off that universal truth. It has manifested as one of the biggest problem facing Hollywood today, there is no trust anymore. There is no faith that the professionals, who are talented and/or driven enough to make this their career, can actually make quality cinema from our beloved franchises.
The most recent example of the internet’s pigheadedness is the backlash to Michael Bay’s comment that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film will feature an expanded back story that exposes potential Alien origins for everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell.
Kids are going to believe one day these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable. – Michael Bay

With the ultimate success of both the Twilight book franchise and it’s film counterpart, it was inevitable that fans would eventually backlash against it. While it’s teen romance theme and sparkly vampires leaves it open for ridicule, there are still plenty of anti-Twilight troops out there on the web, and some of them know Photoshop pretty well.
Earlier today, one non-fan in particular felt that the end of the first Twilight film was missing something. A certain vampire hunter needed to be brought into the fray, taking down the sparkly Edward and saving Bella from, well, herself.
Check out the image after the break, and maybe this will inspire some non-fans who are precision film editors as well.

Sometimes, if you’ve been good, you get what you wish for. This is one of those times. Why do I say that? Well, read on. In an interview with Megan Fox the, shall we just say very attractive, star of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, she revealed some very interesting bits of info sure to delight fanboys (And girls too, we’re all equal here).
One such bit of info of particular interest to yours truly was that Fox really wants to go to Comic-Con in San Diego next month and, not only that, being the big Star Wars fan that she is, she would really like to go dressed in a “Slave Leia” costume. Oh boy. You hear that sound? That’s the sound of millions of fanboys (And yes, still girls as well) heads exploding.
I don’t know if Fox is really going to attend Comic-Con dressed that way but now any reluctance I had about going next month has miraculously disappeared. See you in San Diego!
Oh, by the way, Fox also talks about some other stuff in the video but really, she had me at “Slave Leia.”
Check out the full video after the jump.
