Even though his film Battle: Los Angeles hasn’t even been released yet, director Jonathan Liebesman has apparently already lined up his next job. That job? Director of the sequel to Clash of the Titans which, at this moment, is cleverly entitled Clash of the Titans 2.
According to Deadline, the director was in talks for the film over the weekend and through yesterday but those negotiations stalled because of, you guessed it, money. But now it seems all is well and they’ve been able to reach an agreement to make a sequel to a film that most people, including a majority of critics, had nothing but bad things to say about.
Unfortunately, the sequel was inevitable considering both of the film’s leads (Sam Worthington and Gemma Aterton) survived and the movie, in spite of its negative reviews and terrible conversion to 3D, made a crap load of money worldwide. I’m hopeful the studio will do better this time and am encouraged by at least one other fact that’s come out during this dealmaking process: They will shoot the film in 3D instead of converting it later.
That alone should improve things considerably. Now if we could just do something about the lame story, wooden acting and uninspired direction . . . then we’d really be onto something. Too snarky? I can never tell.

Previously on The Flickcast, we brought you lots of info about director Louis Leterrier’s upcoming film Clash of the Titans including the first images of star Sam Worthington as well as the first two trailers. This time around we’ve got the new international trailer to share with you.
In this new video, we’re treated to more of Persius and his adventures riding Pegasus, fighting the Kraken and trying not to get turned to stone by Medusa. We also get more with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes because this is, after all, the international version of the trailer so the movie has to appeal to people other than those of us in the U.S.
Also, they seem to have moved past the whole “Titans will clash” slogan and adopted “Damn the Gods” instead. A slight improvement in my opinion.
Check out the latest trailer after the break. Clash of the Titans hits theaters on March 26.

On what started off as a slow news week, we already have the premiere of two brand new trailers today, the first of which being a brand new trailer of Louis Leterrier’s remake of the 1981 classic, Clash of the Titans.
Though the original is considered sacred by some (and schlock by others), the newest trailer looks to legitimize the story even more. Conceptually, this is the proportionate size that this film should have been, and technology is finally at a place where a director like Leterrier can pull it off.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Gemma Aterton, and some of the coolest casting decisions for Greek gods ever seen. In no particular order, Liam Neeson is stepping in a Zeus, Ralph Fiennes is playing Hades, and Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) will be playing Poseidon.
Check out the first full trailer after the jump, and try not to hold the line “Titans Will Clash” against the film. Clash of the Titans hits theaters March 26th, 2010.
