Video Friday: ‘The Daly Show’ Featuring Tim and Sam Daly and Guests Nathan Fillion and Michael Rosenbaum

by Joe Gillis, Mar 2 2012 // 1:45 PM

This video really needs no setup. However, in the interest of helping to spread the word about filmmaker Ben Shelton and his work with actor Tim Daly and his son Sam, here’s a bit of it anyway.

This video is the seventh episode of the occasional series The Daly Show, which features Daly and his son living their lives and having misadventures around Los Angeles. It should not be confused with The Daily Show with John Stewart, although both are funny but one has Time Daly and the other has John . . . well, you get the idea.

In this particular episode, we’re treated to guest appearances by Nathan Fillion and Michael Rosenbabum who, in their own way, try to help the somewhat “troubled” Tim Daly work out some issues. Let’s just say their methods leave a bit to be desired.

Take a look at this video after the break.

Video Friday: James Cameron’s ’80′s Music Video Featuring Kathryn Bigelow

by Chris Ullrich, Feb 5 2010 // 11:00 AM

The ’80′s were an interesting time for many reasons. One of the main ones was the burgeoning music video scene where any band that was trying to “make it” made a video. One such band was Martini Ranch, fronted by a young Bill Paxton. And yes, they made a video.

The difference here is that the video was directed by James Cameron and featured not only Paxton but Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, Adrian Pasdar and Cameron’s future wife, director Kathryn Bigelow. In the video you are treated to Paxton as he rides into a typically dusty western town where in typical fashion coffins are being assembled, a beefy lady blacksmith works and prostitutes assemble on the balcony of the local whore house. Paxton then pays a visit to the saloon and said house of ill repute.

But the fun doesn’t end there when Bigelow and her posse hit town and interrupt Paxton’s fun by slipping a CD of the song, entitled “Reach”, into a player. From that point forward, it’s on. In truth, words cannot adequately describe just how cheesy this video is. After all, it was the ’80′s.

Check out this masterpiece after the jump. Thanks goodness the ’80′s are over.

Fan Film Friday: ‘Robocop vs. Terminator’

by Matt Raub, May 22 2009 // 10:45 AM

In honor of this weekend’s theatrical release of the fourth film in the Terminator franchise, Terminator: Salvation, we bring you the mother of all fan films about robots killing each other. This video made it’s way around the net a few years ago, and even spawned a few sequels and parodies, but this is the original, mashing up just about every piece of footage from both franchises.

If you stick around, there’s even a surprise guest towards the end. Try to ignore the French subtitles and enjoy!

Video Friday: ’24 Meets The Office’

by Joe Gillis, May 15 2009 // 1:30 PM

As it happens to be Friday and, for some reason, we like the sound of the words Video Friday here at The Flickcast, we’re going to try and start a tradition here and post a funny, weird, interesting or otherwise entertaining video each week on, you guessed it, Friday. To start us off this week, here’s a video that combines two of our favorite shows, The Office and 24, into one funny show where almost anything can happen.

Sure, maybe the video’s producers could have taken the idea a bit farther and done more with it, but we should at least give them credit for trying. Most people just like to talk or criticize others for what they do wrong. At least these guys tried to do something — and mostly succeded. Enjoy.
