When people think of Bethesda right now, two things come to mind. Fallout and the Elder Scrolls. So when a video surfaced today on Vine from Bethesda Softworks featuring a spinning LP and barbed wire, it isn’t an unfair assumption to think it may be related to Fallout. After speculation quickly popped online about The Moonlight Trio and George Shackley LP as well as the flashes of Johann Sebastian Bach (who was featured on the Fallout 3 soundtrack) and Air on the G String from the gaming press, Bethesda VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines replied on his Twitter account that this wasn’t the case.
Obviously this isn’t a new Oblivion since the online title is already announced an on its way. But what could it be? The first option is Project Zwei, which is a survival horror game being published by Bethesda under the development of Resident Evil designer Shinji Mikami.

Though one of our contenders for Game of the Year, even The Flickcast has to admit there have been a share of problems in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (mostly if you were one of the poor souls who chose to play it on the PlayStation 3 though). As expected, another patch is coming out soon to hopefully finally fix the frame rate issues that have afflicted players the further they progress in the PS3 version as well as other quest improvements that had become minor inconveniences.
There will also be new features added to the game. Some of these are minor and only affect the PC like the option for high end rigs to add shadow effects to the grass in the world. Others are awesome visual upgrades like new cinematic kill cameras for projectiles, spells and melee weapons. Take a look below at the kill cam trailer which shows some fantastic new visuals like a full on suplex and an arrow shot high into the air and taking an opponent out with a shot to the head (not the knee unfortunately).
NEW FEATURES
- New cinematic kill cameras for projectile weapons and spells
- New kill moves and animations for melee weapons
- Shadows on grass available (PC)
- Smithing skill increases now factor in the created item’s value
- Improved visual transition when going underwater
- Improved distance LOD transition for snowy landscapes
Check out the new Kill Cam animations trailer after the jump for the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s 1.5 Patch now in Beta on Steam and coming soon to PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

As everyone expected, the mod community is having a heck of time with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim the same way they did with the past open worlds of the Elder Scrolls series. With the official launch of the Skyrim Creation Kit through the Steam Workshop, players are able to build and distribute mods through the support of Bethesda and Steam which allows the community to come together and let each other know what the best and most promising mods are.
Instead of just being a free for all, this community allows players a piece of mind that they are downloading actual content and not a hack or virus that could harm their system. The first of these mods which every player should snag is the High Resolution Texture Pack which will greatly improve the visuals for most players.
The next piece of content any player with a sense of humor that also isn’t too hung up on silly things like continuity is Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1. Created with the help of Valve, Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1 brings Portal 2’s third favorite A.I. core to the medieval world of Skyrim.
To celebrate the opening of the Steam Workshop for Skyrim, Valve and Bethesda have teamed up to bring you the Portal 2 Space Core mod, which will let the aggressively space-centric little robot tag along on your adventures in Tamriel.
Also, since Skyrim was the only major release of 2011 without Nolan North in it, you should consider this mod a patch to fix that problem. You can now feel free to include Skyrim in the “Nolan North” section of your video game library, which is to say, your video game library.
Check out a video preview of the Space Core in action and stick to the Flickcast for more Skyrim and Portal news and all things gaming.

A top selling game earning Game of 2008 awards from numerous publications and four successful downloadable expansions, Fallout 3‘s last chapter is finally on its way. One of the most intriguing pieces of Fallout 3 was the crashed alien spacecraft on the outskirts of Washington, DC. In the remains, players found a near unstoppable weapon in the alien blaster but not much else of the craft was examined.
Where did it come from? Why was it near the charred remains of the Capital? In this world already infested with mutants caused by the radiation, is it possible there are aliens too? Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta brings all this to light as the player travels to the crash site of the spaceship only to find himself transported high above Earth to the alien mother ship. Once there, players will find themselves up close and personal with a not so nice race of would-be invaders who have abducted hundreds of people and experimented on them.
Using new alien technology and working with other captives, the player must find a way off the ship to save not only their own life, but possibly also the lives of everyone on Earth. Take a look after the jump at the first trailer for the upcoming expansion to the Fallout 3 world.
