Welcome back to another edition of Trailer Time. This is the place where we post cool and interesting trailers for movies, television shows, games and more. For this week’s edition of Trailer Time we’ve got Joe Carnahan’s sci-fi action epic Boss Level.
The film, which hits Hulu today, features Frank Grillo as Roy Pulver, a retired soldier stuck in an endless time loop where he replays his own death over and over. As he begins to unravel the nature of his predicament he realizes his survival is tied to the fate of his ex-wife and son and the potential destruction of the entire universe. Yeah, the stakes are pretty high.
Boss Level also features Naomi Watts, Michelle Yeoh, Annabelle Wallis, Will Sasso, Ken Jeong and Mel Gibson. Yes, that’s right, Mel Gibson. Say what you will about Mel (we have), but he was once a beloved movie star and he can still act, which he does pretty well in this movie.
Fortunately, though, this isn’t a Mel Gibson movie. It’s a Frank Grillo movie. And that’s a good thing.
We’re fans of Grillo, so we’re happy to see him get starring roles in more movies. He’s great in this one.
Yes, we’ve seen the entire thing. It’s really good. You should watch it.
We’ll probably post a full review of Boss Level soon. But really, you should just go watch it instead. Until then, check out the trailer below.
What do you think of this trailer for Boss Level? Have you seen the movie? If so, tell us what you think. Is there a trailer for something else you’re most excited about? Let us know in the comments or hit us up on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
Great news! There were some tense moments for awhile there, but we’re happy to report class is back in session at Greendale Community College. Well, at least it will be starting March 17th.
That’s right, with most of the original cast once again cracking the books and getting to know each other better in the study room, Community is scheduled to return at its new home on Yahoo Screen. But don’t just take our word for it, see what the cast has to say about this monumental event in a new video.
Check it out after the break. Six seasons and a movie!
It’s a bit hard to believe that Community, NBC’s little comedy that could, is about to debut its fifth season. Because it started out so strong, and so different, from a lot of network comedies, we were almost positive it wouldn’t last this long.
We were particularly concerned when creator and showrunner Dan Harmon was kicked off the show. But still, it kept on going and miraculously, NBC realized they had made a mistake in letting Harmon go and brought him back for season five.
That brings us to now with the January return of Community just around the corner and we couldn’t be happier about it. Naturally, we’ve got a preview for you.
Check it out after the break. Look for Community to return on Thursday, January 2 at 8 on NBC.
I’m not sure whether the appropriate genre for Pain & Gain is comedy or thriller, but I am sure that it’s a story that the cosmos made specifically for Michael Bay. There’s bulked-up dudes, strippers, midgets, stereotypical gay guys, Miami, explosions, slow-motion, and cocaine and the ’90s. Mark Wahlberg is Daniel Lugo, a fitness instructor with the kind of intensity and single-mindedness that makes you feel like he’s constantly comparing his body to everyone else — and addressing each one according to rank.
His boss is the slightly-schlubby John (Rob Corddry), owner of the Sun Gym in Miami. And his best friend is fellow gym-jockey Adrian (Anthony Mackey).
That the movie opens with Daniel getting chased by the cops is a revelation that we know things won’t end well for Daniel, but the reasons take their time to unfold. We learn that Daniel’s a self-proclaimed go-getter — obsessed with his image and the idea that through physical perfection the rest of the world will lie down before you.
His heroes are Rocky, Scarface, and Don Corleone, suggesting that his understanding of reality comes from the movies and even then, he’s only read the Cliff Notes. He takes a seminar with Johnny Wu (Ken Jeong), one of those motivational speakers who similarly preaches that nothing in life is worth learning if it can’t be written on a note card or reduced to a buzzword.
Yes, I am a grown man. An overgrown man at that. But I haven’t been as excited about an animated movie sequel since Toy Story 2, which came out when I was still a child and it was okay for me to be excited for animated sequels. But yesterday, Universal Pictures released their third, and first full trailer for DespicableMe 2 (the first being a teaser released over a year ago, featuring the Minions doing a fantastic rendition of the Beach Boy’s Barbara Ann.
The second also centered on the Minions partaking in all sorts of zaniness, from spoofing Halloween to one in a maid’s outfit shaking it’s posterior).
We love Community. You love Community. It all makes sense. So, this gag reel from the last season of the show should be as entertaining to you as it was to us.
Sure, things won’t be exactly the same without creator Dan Harmon working his magic on the show next season, but that doesn’t mean we can’t relive some great moments of the past season — especially if they’re in the form of a very funny gag reel.
Who doesn’t love a good gag reel? See, actors are only human too. They mess up just like you and me. They’re just better looking when doing it.
Check out the vid after the break. Community returns, full cast intact but minus Mr. Harmon, this Fall on NBC.
With the Academy Awards still fresh in our minds, we can think of all the great films 20111 brought us. It is easy to forget that year also had tons of stinkers and flops, but the Razzie Awards are here to remind us.
The Razzie Award nominees have been announced, and their aren’t too many surprises. Adam Sandler has a record 11 nominations, and that’s not including nominations that are tied to his Happy Madison productions. Three films by the production company, Buck Larsen: Born to be a Star, Just Go With It, and Jack & Jill, all have multiple nominations each.
The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry awards, were created in 1980 as an antidote to the Oscars. They are usually held on the eve of the Academy Awards, but this year are moving to 1 April. Traditionally, stars do not turn up to collect their awards, but good sports over the years have included Paul Verhoeven in 1996 (worst director and worst picture for Showgirls), Halle Berry for 2005’s Catwoman and Sandra Bullock for 2010’s All About Steve.
Check out the nominations after the jump, and be sure to keep an eye out for these “winners” when they are announced on April 1.
If you’ve been counting the weeks, days, hours, minutes and second until the third Transformers movie hits theaters and destroys everything in its path, the amount you have to count has just gotten smaller. That’s right, the release date for everyone’s favorite movie where robots blow stuff up has been moved up.
Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has been moved to Wednesday, June 29th from Friday, July 1st. The studio’s big Summer 2011 blockbuster will open day and date in all markets except China and Japan on that new date.
According to Deadline, Paramount is apparently pretty psyched for the movie. “Early response to footage, especially the 3D footage, has been great so we want to get the word out that this film is as good or better than the first and much better than the last.”
NBC’sCommunity is one of those show that just keeps getting better and more interesting with each new episode. Fortunately, its coming back next season for more fun with the gang at Greendale and we’ll get to experience more of the hijinks of Jeff, Britta, Troy, Abed, Shirley, Chang, Pierce and Annie.
But tonight, things are getting intense with the second part of the “paintball” season finale that’s sure to bring the awesome. Of course, we’ve got previews for tonight’s episode to share with you right here.
I case you’ve forgotten, here’s the scoop so far: The Greendale gang is in the midst of an intense paintball war and things are just getting exciting after the elimination of Josh Holloway’s gunslinger last week. This week, get an early taste of “Operation: Troy’s Awesome Plan”, see Alison Brie freestylin’ it and much more.
Also, tonight there’s a brand new Office and double the Parks and Rec fun with two episodes. All this, and more, starts with Community at 8/7C on NBC.
Check out all the Community goodness after the jump.
By geek-Santa’s beard, this may be one of the best, marketable ideas ever created. For those who love NBC’s Community as much as we do, you’re going to love this batch of imaginary action figures made by our new super genius, online artist and animator Yehudi Mercado.
The idea? Just your regular, run of the mill action figure mock-ups, except they are of our favorite Community characters (with the exception of Starburns and the Dean) done up in some classic season 1 and season 2 episode’s outfits.
We don’t have much else to say, except that you should go to Yehudi’s site (cleverly titled ActionFigurology.com) and show him as much love as possible so we can get these figures made!
Take a look at the full-sized images of each figure after the jump.
