According to The Hollywood Reporter, former CSI favorite Jorja Fox will be coming back from the jungle and rejoining the series for its 10th season — at least for five episodes. Last seen in a cameo in William Petersen’s final episode in January when their characters Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom reunited in Costa Rica, Fox will reprise her role as Sara.
“We’re thrilled for Jorja’s return to CSI,” said executive producer/showrunner Carol Mendelsohn in the article. “The viewers and longtime CSI fans will be excited to discover where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the CSI team in Las Vegas in our premiere episode.”
According to the article, there are no immediate plans for Petersen, whose character had a romantic relationship with Sara, to return for more episodes. Instead, the shows producers are reportedly making “significant” creative changes to the show to combat a ratings slide after the departure of Petersen.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation returns with new episodes on Sept. 24.

With both historical fantasies and video game adaptations hot properties to snatch up in Hollywood, how could a new film starring Jake Gyllenhaal as an “adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world” NOT be an amazing idea for a movie? Well, if this new picture tells us anything, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time may actually be a fun flick.
Entertainment Weekly had the pic up over the weekend (bigger size after the jump), which is the first of probably many to come. The film features only a few other names besides Gyllenhaal, which is surprising given the nature of the film, and the fact that it’s a Disney and Bruckheimer project. These include Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, and rising star Gemma Arterton (Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace).
UPDATE: The first poster for Prince of Persia has also been released online. Check it out after the jump!

There hasn’t been much news about lately a new Twilight Zone movie, based on Rod Sterling’s original TV series. But now that Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, has decided to pick up the film in conjunction with Warner Bros, there is finally some movement on the project. It was recently announced that Rand Ravich will be penning the script for the film, which will be a fresh take on the classic sci-fi show.
Ravich only has a few things under his belt, and coming into a project like this, they are surprising. He had both written and directed 1999′s The Astronaut’s Wife, along with a sequel to Candyman, and his latest work was writing for NBC’s Life. No other details have been released about the film’s writers or director, but with Appian Way, who produced 2004′s The Aviator and this year’s Public Enemies, you can believe that DiCaprio takes his producing job seriously and will have inut on the director.
Twilight Zone has been in and out of the public eye on TV for decades, with resurrections in 1985, 1994, and 2002. Many recall the 1983 film as well, which was an anthology (very big at the time in movies), consisting of several old Zone storylines, re-imagined by the likes of John Landis, Stephen Spielberg, and George Miller.
The film was also the focal point of some controversy as actor Vic Morrow and two children died on the set while shooting a scene. No word yet on when production will begin on the new film, but with a writer now attached, more details are sure to follow.

While we wait somewhat patiently for Ryan Reynolds eventual big-screen appearance in the Green Lantern movie, his character will make an appearance on screen much sooner in animated form in the upcoming Green Lantern: First Flight feature film. And now, courtesy of the folks over at MTV Splashpage, we can bring you the first four minutes of the movie right now.
Actor Chris Meloni lends his voice to Hal Jordan along with a cast that includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Juliet Landau (as Labella), Michael Madsen (Kilowog), Tricia Helfer (Boodikka) and Victor Garber (Sinestro). Among other things, this clip gives you a look at how Jordan becomes the Green Lantern but doesn’t go too much into most of the movie’s other details — which is probably a good thing.
Fortunately, if you’re heading down to San Diego this week for Comic-Con, you’ll be able to see the entire film when its screened during the Con. Or, if you’re not going to be at Comic-Con, Green Lantern: First Flight will drop on DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, July 28.
Either way, be sure to check out the preview after the jump.

As we may have said once or twice before here at The Flickcast, we really like Battlestar Galactica. Sadly, the original series has come to an end. However, as sad as that is, we at least have Caprica and the TV movie The Plan to look forward to.
Speaking of The Plan, which premieres later this year, Universal as just given us the scoop that they will be releaseing a Blu-day version of The Plan on October 27, the same day they drop the standard-def DVD.
Here’s the info from the official press release:

Besides Marvel and DC, one of the biggest comic book companies around is Portland based Dark Horse Comics. With a diverse lineup of titles such as Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, B.P.R.D., Star Wars, Umbrella Academy and Solomon Grundy, and a lots of movie and TV tie-ins as well, the company is a major player.
Fortunately, Dark Horse is bringing pretty much everyone they work with to Comic-Con in San Diego next week so if you happen to be there and are a fan of one or more Dark Horse properties, you’ve got lots of opportunities to see and interact with your favorites.
Here’s all the info about Dark Horse’s plans from the official press release:

In the world of young adult fantasy, you could make the argument that Harry Potter, and his cinematic incarnation Daniel Radcliffe, still reign supreme. However, in recent years, another young man has made great strides up that hill of tween fandom and has become a major player and a force to be reckoned with. I’m talking, of course, about Twilight’s Edward Cullen, as played by Robert Pattinson.
So, who’s more popular? Who do thirteen-year-old girls love more? Its hard to say. But one thing you can say about these two actors is that they don’t seem to like each others movies very much — at least according to this video from last night’s Jimmy Fallon Show.
Even with all the apparent bad feelings, rest assured both franchises will still be around for many years to come. Because no matter what actors, critics or the man on the street feels about a movie, the fact that both franchises make a ton of money is enough to insure their continued presence on bookstore shelves, in theaters and in the hearts of fans everywhere.
Check it out after the jump.

One of the great things about Comic-Con in San Diego is that fans like to dress up as their favorite characters from comics, movies and TV. But really, “like” doesn’t exactly cover it. They really, really, really like to dress up and its one of the things that makes Comic-Con attendees special: they take their fandom seriously.
What better way, then, to honor these hard core fanboys and girls than with a contest where they can win all sorts of cool prizes? Fortunately, that’s just what the folks at Marvel are doing next week in San Diego. Sure, there’s the “official” costume extravaganza at Comic-Con, but that one doesn’t feature a grand prize personally autographed by Stan Lee.
Here’s all the info from Marvel’s own virtual lips:

There are plenty of decent shows on HBO lately, from southern vampires to man-whores to polygamy, but one show in particular that has tons of potential, but keeps coming up short is the semi-biographical tale of Marky Mark Whalberg, Entourage.
Unfortunately, the show has a great premise, but comes up short when looking at it from the standpoint of character development or plot conflict. Our friends over at College Humor feel the exact same way, and illustrate it in this week’s Fan Film Friday.
For those who are unaware or don’t get the premium channels on their monthly cable bill, Entourage follows actor Vincent Chase and his group of childhood friends from Queens as they constantly fail upwards in Hollywood.
The show ends up becoming more about the supporting cast than the focal character, but I suppose that is explained in the name. Check out the video after the jump, which also stars new SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan and almost Vincent D’Onofrio.

Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, has been kept quiet and under wraps. But as the film’s release date creeps closer, it seems like we’ve been getting nothing on this film… until right now! Ain’t It Cool News posted the first photos from the movie we’ve seen! They look absolutely amazing. In case you’re not familiar with the book, the story follows Mr. Fox and his family who are targeted by wealthy, angry farmers after the fox steals their chickens, ducks and turkeys.
Hopefully some more photos, and maybe even a trailer (fingers crossed!) will be revealed at Comic-Con next week. The Fantastic Mr. Fox, featuring the voice of Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Bill Murray and George Clooney as Mr. Fox, creeps into theaters November 15.
