With just under a week from the release of the most hyped Spider-Man video game release in years, Activision and Beenox have unveiled the final launch trailer for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.  In it, a majority of the game’s villains are spotlighted as well as the voice actors of all four versions of everyone’s favorite web crawler after the jump.

As we are sure you have seen, we’ve kept a close watch on the upcoming title. We have brought you video of the alternate unlockcable attire, interviews with developers,  and even hands on feedback from our time with the game at San Diego Comic-Con.

But we’re not done yet. Be sure to check back for our review of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions following the game’s September 7th release date. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will be coming out for PlayStation 3, XBox 360, PC and the Nintendo Wii.

At a packed media event today Apple announced some new things that were met mostly with enthusiasm by the attending crowd. Among these new things was iOS 4.1 and 4.2, new iPods and a new version of the Apple TV.

Here’s a summary of the announcements:

iOS 4.1 – iOS 4.2

• High Dynamic Range photos: Takes three photos and combines them to form one better one.

• Proximity sensor, Bluetooth and the iPhone 3G.

• High-definition video upload over Wi-Fi.

• TV show rentals and purchase

• Game Center debut

• Brings iPad up-to-date with iPhone 4 including folders, better multitasking, etc.

The iOS 4.1 update will be available next week through iTunes. iOS 4.2 will come in November.

The first season of the new AMC series The Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman’s comic, hasn’t even aired yet but already it seems the cast and crew need to prepare to get back to work. According to reports a “crew insider” let slip that the series would return to Atlanta in February to begin filming the second season of episodes.

Presumably the second season will follow the pattern of the first and be six episodes. Although, we can always hope for more considering other AMC series like Mad Men and Breaking Bad contain thirteen episodes each. If the first season of The Walking Dead does well enough, maybe AMC will order more for the second. Fingers crossed.

Based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman and produced and directed by Frank Darabont, the series will deal with the aftermath of a zombie plague and follow a group of survivors led by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). The group must face a diverse set of problems and challenges not only from zombies and other survivors but from within their group as well.

The Walking Dead, which also features Laurie Holden, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey De Munn and Michael Rooker, premieres on AMC on October 31st.

On Monday, we brought you an exclusive interview with Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. He explained some of the intense story arcs we can expect to see in the upcoming third season of the series. We also got to speak with one of the show’s stars (and Sutter’s Wife) Katey Sagal.

Sagal has managed to stay topical since 1987 and Married With Children, moving on to Futurama in 1999, then to 8 Simple Rules and now Sons of Anarchy. Granted, she’s dropped the Married stigma, but it’s nice to sometimes think of her as our favorite leopard top-wearing housewife.

Now, Sagal carries on in the dramatic role of Gemma Teller Morrow, and we got her to spill the beans on the coming season. Hit men and assassins are a dime a dozen in Hollywood.  They are primarily used as an incidental plot device.

The assassin’s lifestyle is typically portrayed as being glamorous. There are no shortage of women to choose from, and traversing the globe to all sorts of exotic locales is a job requirement.  If you’ve got nerves of steel and a steady hand, you’ll be rolling in money in no time.

In The American, this conventional portrayal is turned on its ear. The American is a pensive, stark film that peels back the facade and exposes the realities of such a life. There’s no glamor, no partying, and no peace, ever. It’s a somber, isolated, lonely existence.

George Clooney plays Jack, the tortured man who has chosen this lifestyle. He spends most of his time out of the public eye in hotels, cabins or other temporary domiciles. He’s in a perpetual state of paranoia, because anyone he meets could be the person who has been sent to kill him.  Therefore, he spends most of his life obsessively scanning his surroundings and sleeping with one eye open.

While the thought of a Robocop reboot is still up in the air, that doesn’t mean we still can’t look back with nostalgia on some of our favorite Robocop films in glorious 720p picture. Now we can finally relive those epic moments and more with a massive collector’s edition box set of all three films. From an MGM press release:

America’s smartest little town, Eureka, is known for its brilliant minds. Although Salli Richardson-Whitfield is not the head of some secret military facility or medical staff in real life, she does run the show from time to time…literally. Who knew she could direct the cast as well as she directs Global Dynamics?

We had the opportunity to sit down with the woman who plays a mother, leader, and love interest. So in essence, a real woman. During the interview you could tell she had a lot in common with Allison Blake: she’s graceful under pressure, smart as a whip, and one classy dame.

The Flickcast: We heard you’ll get the opportunity to direct an episode of Eureka this season. What’s it like to direct?

Salli Richardson-Whitfield: It’s something I’ve been wanting to do. Last season I wanted to do it and then I was pregnant and it’s not the best time to be directing for my first time. I would have been hormonally a little difficult.

But they’ve been very generous in giving me this opportunity and I’ve been taking it very seriously … The thing on the show is, once you decide you want to direct, once you start paying attention, you realize everything you haven’t been paying attention to. So, every director that comes on finds me sitting there. As they turn around, they bump into me because I’m sitting there and I’m like, “Well why did you do that?”

As if it was any surprise after the success of some big-time Hollywood superhero films in the past few years, NBC is jumping back on the comic genre bandwagon with their newest drama, The Cape. The show veers away from most of the problems that fans had with Heroes and sticks to a classier, more “silver age” style of heroics. Also, no pesky superpowers.

We wouldn’t want you to get lost in translation, so here’s how NBC describes the show.

“The Cape” is a one-hour drama series starring David Lyons (“ER”) as Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, “Life on Mars”) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, “Flash Forward”). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Vince Faraday becomes “The Cape” – his son’s favorite comic book superhero – and takes the law into his own hands.

Combine this with roles filled out by Craig David, Summer Glau, and Vinnie Jones, this could either turn out to be an amazing show…or the worst thing we’ve seen since 2006′s Ultra starring Lena Headey.
