Get Your ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One’ Sneak Peek Right Here

by Joe Gillis, Oct 21 2011 // 12:30 PM

We can’t really put into words our feelings about Twilight and it’s various big screen treatments. Suffice it to say there’s another movie coming soon called The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and we’ve got a preview for it to show you.

Not that you need any extra encouragement to see the upcoming movie. If you’re a fan of the series you’re going to go, no matter what. If you hate all-things Twilight well, then, you probably won’t — unless you get dragged there by some weepy female. Hey, we’ve all been there, there’s no shame in it.

Sometimes you gotta do things you don’t want to do to make other people happy. Or, to get some, shall we say, action.

Whatever you’re motivations, or lack thereof, look for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One to hit theaters on November 18. In the meantime, check out the preview after the break.

Buffy Swan Refuses to Suck

by Diane Panosian, Mar 16 2010 // 12:00 PM

As I was watching the new Eclipse trailer, out of sheer boredom and a hint of curiosity, I found myself wondering why in the world two super-powered boys would fight it out over a girl clad in American Apparel who’s a hell of a downer.

How is there an entire film series devoted to one girl’s delusional obsessions of a fairy tale ending with a born-again killer? Sparkely vampires want to kill you, strapping werewolf shape-shifters want to keep you safe.

Do these Edward fans have a death wish and a yearning for abandonment? Is Bella Swan so heavily marketed as mesmerizing that it erases the history of the brazen blonde that came before her?

A long time ago, otherwise known as the 90’s, there was a series called Buffy the Vampire Slayer where a feisty girl from the southland slayed Urban Outfitted demons. This legendary show paved the way for multi-tasking girls who cheer by day, slay by night, and every once in a while hook-up with a tormented blood sucker.

First Teaser For ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Arrives

by Heather Toshiko, Mar 11 2010 // 8:00 AM

Remember a couple days ago when we brought you the preview for the first trailer for the upcoming Twilight sequel Eclipse? Good, you can forget that now as we’ve got the whole thing for you today.

And now, once we’ve seen the full teaser, it only adds to what we said earlier in the week about the film. Even if you’re not a fan of the books or the movies you have to give the filmmakers credit for casting some pretty attractive and appealing people in these roles. Plus, they really seem to know how to milk the last little bit of angsty teen emotion from these situations.

Also, director David Slade comes to the table with a rather cool vampire flick to his credit (30 Days of Night) and has shown his ability to put together some pretty nice visuals while also managing to think about character at the same time. Add all this up and I’m not exactly sure what it means but if you look at this teaser, you might be able to figure it out.

Prediction: This film will make even more money than the first two. Anyone want to bet against it?

Check out the teaser after the jump. Eclipse hits theaters June 30th.

‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ Will Be Two Movies, May Be in 3D

by Joe Gillis, Feb 12 2010 // 11:00 AM

I know what you’re thinking. You can’t imagine a time before the Twilight movies existed and you can’t believe that now that they do exist, the ride may come to an end sometime in the future. Well, don’t worry too much about the end just yet because Summit Entertainment and the franchise’s producers have got your back and will do their best to prolong the end as long as inhumanly possible.

How, you may ask? Well, by turning the last film in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, into two movies. So, you’ll get double the pleasure and double the fun, presumably, and the studio and producers can get double your money. Seems fair, right? After all, they are doing it for the last Harry Potter film, doesn’t Twilight deserve the same treatment?  Of course it does.

But wait, there’s more. Those two movies may also be in 3D which will, of course, make them even better because as we know, any movie in 3D is automatically at least a full dimension better than any movie in 2D. So, to recap, the last Twilight book will actually be two films so fans will get at least two more chances to watch their favorite characters on the big screen and the films may also be in 3D for that added visual punch.

And you thought Hollywood didn’t care.

How ‘Twilight’ Should Have Ended?

by Sebastian Suchecki, Sep 1 2009 // 2:30 PM

HowTwilightShouldHaveEnded1-thumb-550x345-23226With the ultimate success of both the Twilight book franchise and it’s film counterpart, it was inevitable that fans would eventually backlash against it. While it’s teen romance theme and sparkly vampires leaves it open for ridicule, there are still plenty of anti-Twilight troops out there on the web, and some of them know Photoshop pretty well.

Earlier today, one non-fan in particular felt that the end of the first Twilight film was missing something. A certain vampire hunter needed to be brought into the fray, taking down the sparkly Edward and saving Bella from, well, herself.

Check out the image after the break, and maybe this will inspire some non-fans who are precision film editors as well.

New ‘New Moon’ Behind the Scenes Video

by Joe Gillis, Jun 12 2009 // 1:45 PM

new-moon-three1Its Friday and its been a couple days since we had anything up here about The Twilight Saga: New Moon. So, not to disappoint fans of the franchise (including a few folks here at The Flickcast), here’s a new behind the scenes video shot on the set while filming took place.

In this video, we’re treated to scenes of all the actors working, shivering and otherwise having a good old time on the set. Plus, you get a glimpse into the world of movie making and see that even in a place where it rains quite often, the filmmakers still have to bring some of their own.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon hits theaters November 20th. Check out the video after the jump.

The Flickcast – Episode 10: New Moon

by Joe Gillis, Jun 3 2009 // 7:00 AM

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOONWelcome to Episode 10 of The Flickcast. We’re very happy to have reached this milestone and thank you, the readers and listeners, for making it happen. We appreciate you. Okay, enough pats on the back, let’s get on with the show.

Previously on The Flickcast, Chris, Matt and Christina discussed various topics including a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie without Joss Whedon, the reboot of Flight of the Navigator, and the merits of Terminator: Rise of the Machines.

This week the team is back once again and ready for action. In this episode, they discuss a broad range of topics including the Twilight phenomenon, the MTV Movie Awards, the success of Pixar’s Up, the merits of Drag Me to Hell, some cool Deadpool and E3 news, Danny McBride’s new movie project, the Megan Fox as Wonder Woman “controversy”, who we think should star in a Wonder Woman movie and that Matt, for some reason, doesn’t seem to like Jessica Biel or Hallle Berry.

Plus, there’s some new picks this week including Matt’s favorite new horror movie, Drag Me to Hell, one of Christina’s favorite movies, Closer, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Chris’ favorite video game where you get to kill terrorists, drive fast, shoot machine guns from an airplane and blow stuff up.

As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques or offers of sponsorship, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter and at Facebook, MySpace or via email.

A Few More ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ Pics Surface

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 2 2009 // 6:43 PM

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOONApparently, this New Moon movie is quite popular with the ladies (and probably a few gents as well). So much so that they keep releasing one or two photos or a video here and there to help build the anticipation and the excitement for the film’s release on November 20. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say all this “anticipation building” is probably not necessary. I think the audience will find the film and they will come — in droves.

Still, far be it from us here at The Flickcast to deny fans of the Twilight series more pictures of their favorite characters. So, in that spirit, here’s three more photos from the new film to help with that “anticipation building” we were talking about.

In these new ones, from Teen Gossip, we’re treated to Bella and Edward staring at each other intently, Peter Facinelli as Carlise Cullen and a shot of Jacob looking angry (probably because its raining and he doesn’t have a shirt).

Check out the full sized pics after the jump.

Full ‘New Moon’ Trailer Now Online

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 1 2009 // 6:00 AM

new-moon-threeEarlier, we brought you a sneak peek at the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Now, thanks to the folks over at Trailer Addict, we’re able to bring you the entire thing to help fulfill all your tween vampire warewolf love triangle needs.

Those of you familiar with the Twilight story need no explanation as to what’s happening in the trailer. For those of you just joining us, the sequel to Twilight follows the tortured and troubled love affair between the vampire Edward and the human Bella. In this film, things start to go very bad and Edward leaves Bella in order to protect her from his potential blood lust. This, of course, leaves her vulnerable to other vampires.

Luckily, as it turns out she’s got a pack of werewolves to protect her, led by her close friend and third member of the troubled tween triangle, Jacob Black. You just know Edward isn’t going to like that. Check out the full trailer after the jump.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon opens November 20th. As if you didn’t already have that date circled on your calendar.

And the Winners Are: The 2009 MTV Movie Awards

by Joe Gillis, May 31 2009 // 11:54 PM

pattinson-stewart-mtv-awards-kiss1The results are in and sadly, not everyone goes home with an award. But they do probably all go home in some sort of limo — or a hybrid because stars love to be politically correct. Still, even though some people had to lose, the 2009 MTV Movie Awards was a night filled with fun, celebs and lots of great clips from movies past, present and future.

Some of the highly anticipated new movies viewers got a glimpse of during the show included The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and Public Enemies. There were also the usual movie parodies and comedic bits featuring host Andy Samberg and a multitude of guest including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Sacha Baron Cohen as Bruno and a rather angry Eminem who proved he has no sense of humor by storming off the stage after a close encounter with a face down Bruno who had landed in his lap.

Twilight and its cast were the big winners, taking home 5 awards, with High School Musical 3: Senior Year and its stars in second with 2. Finally, Heath Ledger posthumously won the award for ‘Best Villain’ for his performance in The Dark Knight. Not a surprise but still, a fitting final tribute to an actor, and a human being, who died far too young.

See a list of all the big winners after the break:
