Seasons greetings! This week’s pick is a comedy holiday classic from the successful National Lampoon’s Vacation series. Chevy Chase stars as Clark W. Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
This third installment of the series follows the Griswolds and Clark’s quest for the best family Christmas. The film’s opening sequence follows the family into the wilderness in the ultimate quest for the perfect Christmas tree. As Clark and the fam enter a clearing a beam of light falls on the perfect tree.
Like the two previous films, Clark’s expectations exceed the rest of the family’s and he is completely oblivious to everything. As they gather around the tree, Rusty asks if Clark brought a saw. Clark’s toothy smile turns to an immediate frown as he realizes his first mistake. In the last scene the tree is strapped to the roof of the car, completely torn from the ground, roots and all. Ridiculous yet brilliant.
As the in-laws and assorted family members arrive at Clark’s home for Christmas, things begin to go horribly awry, especially when cousin Eddie (Quaid) and his family arrive unexpectedly. Greatest line ever when Eddie asks Clark if he’s surprised to see him “Eddie if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now.”

NBC is under major scrutiny from fans as of late with their ballsy decision to pull fan-favorite Community from their Spring lineup. With that, fans have had a major outpour as to how pissed they are with NBC’s decision. Even TV Guide proved how important the show is to its dedicated community.
Now, the geniuses behind the show itself are working for your sympathy itself by putting together a campaign video to safe the show’s fictional setting, Greendale Community College.
Sure, there are a few character moments here, but also some sincerity as to where this show is going, and that it may never come back. Take a look at the heartwarming video after the jump and join the fight by signing the Save Community online petition.
Let’s win this one!

This new commercial for Soul Wax Radio features nudity, machinery, and Chevy Chase’s famed comedy album. Warning: Definitely NSFW.

Speaking of fan films, those who love Naruto may dig (and understand) this true-to-form fan film more than anyone that works here.

It’s Thursday so that means NBC has pretty much all the shows we watch tonight. Of course, that means we’ve also got previews for all those shows for you to enjoy.
First up is one of our favorites, Community. In the episode the study group leaves the library and heads to Troy and Abed’s new pad. Of course, it won’t be that simple.
Next up on Parks and Recreation, it’s “Treat Yo Self “day for Tom and Donna while Ron and Leslie march their respective troops to the great outdoors. The Office also heads outside, but the Scranton crew is going to a very fancy garden party — at Schrute Farms. That won’t go well.
Next is Whitney where she and Alex want to bring back the romance. To to it, they really step it up. Finally, Prime Suspect rounds out the night as Jane searches for a murderer. But this week, she’s extra edgy as she tries a new technique to quit smoking.
Check out all the previews after the break. Everything starts tonight at 8/7C with Community.

NBC’s Community is one of those show that just keeps getting better and more interesting with each new episode. Fortunately, its coming back next season for more fun with the gang at Greendale and we’ll get to experience more of the hijinks of Jeff, Britta, Troy, Abed, Shirley, Chang, Pierce and Annie.
But tonight, things are getting intense with the second part of the “paintball” season finale that’s sure to bring the awesome. Of course, we’ve got previews for tonight’s episode to share with you right here.
I case you’ve forgotten, here’s the scoop so far: The Greendale gang is in the midst of an intense paintball war and things are just getting exciting after the elimination of Josh Holloway’s gunslinger last week. This week, get an early taste of “Operation: Troy’s Awesome Plan”, see Alison Brie freestylin’ it and much more.
Also, tonight there’s a brand new Office and double the Parks and Rec fun with two episodes. All this, and more, starts with Community at 8/7C on NBC.
Check out all the Community goodness after the jump.

You may know her best as Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, or recently as the neurotic publicist in Scream 4, but for fans of NBC’s Community she will always been Annie Edison. Taking time out of her busy schedule shooting a movie, Alison was kind enough to sit down for a press interview to give us the scoop on what we can expect from the upcoming two-part Community season finale.
The episode centers around an end-of-the-year picnic where the dean announces plans for a “small, quick, safe, game of paintball.” What follows is an epic battle in which alliances are formed and broken, and friendships are put to the test.
The finale will include a very special cameo from Josh Holloway, most famous for his role as Sawyer on Lost, who arrives as a mysterious character in the game. TV spots and online clips have already begun to hint at a certain chemistry that will form between Holloway’s character and Annie.
Alison herself confirmed that there were sparks on set that the writers wanted to play up in the final episode. And yes, she also hinted that there were to be a few Sawyer-esq lines for the Lost fans.

Who says good news doesn’t come at the end of the week? On the heels of their Q&A at PaleyFest this week, NBC’s newest hit show, Community, has been given more life as the network has renewed the show for another season. Also to get another season are Parks and Recreation and the new Steve Carell-less Office.
It seems that though the shows weren’t performing up to expectations, they managed to get a stay of execution. THR spells it out with math. We hate math.
Veteran comedy The Office is delivering a 4.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and averaging 7.7 million viewers for its current seventh season. Steve Carell‘s farewell episode is scheduled to air at the end of April, with Will Ferrell coming on for a multi-episode guest arc.
In the ratings, Amy Poehler‘s Parks and Rec, currently in its third season, is averaging a 2.8 in the key demo and 5.5 million viewers. With its move to the 9:30 p.m. time slot, the series is up 17 percent in the 18-49 demo (2.8 vs. 2.4) and up 9 percent in total viewers (5.5 million vs. 5.1 million).
Critical favorite Community, which has anchored the competitive 8 p.m. time slot on Thursdays for NBC and is led by The Soup host Joel McHale, has averaged a 2.1 in the 18-49 demo and 4.7 million viewers so far in its sophomore season.

Normally we would make some interesting comments about this or that and post something relevant to the topic at hand. This time, however, the staff is in a hurry to head out for lunchtime hot air balloon rides so this has got to be a quick one.
NBC has some great shows on Thursday night and they are all back tonight will all-new episodes. We, of course, have promos for all of them.
Community kicks off the night with guest Malcolm-Jamal Warner, followed by the Perfect Couples premiere. Then Michael’s war to win Holly’s heart continues on The Office, followed by Rob Lowe back with the cast of Parks and Rec. Finally, Liz dabbles in Jack’s marriage on 30 Rock followed by Outsourced going Bollywood. That should be interesting.
Check out all the clips where we usually put stuff like that. If you can’t figure it out now, we can’t help you. All the fun kicks off tonight at 8/7C with Community.

Who doesn’t love a classic stop-motion Christmas special around the time of the holidays? Rankin/Bass productions like Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer have pulled families together for generations around this time of year, and now it’s time for NBC’s breakout comedy Community to do the same.
Next Thursday, the gang is going a little bit clay, as they get transformed into a world of claymation, thanks to the Dino Stamatolpoulus’ (Star-Burns) stop-motion studio. Here’s the episode’s official synopsis.
When Abed wakes up in stop-motion animation, he takes it as a sign that he and the group must re-discover the meaning of Christmas. Meanwhile, Jeff and Britta become growingly concerned about Abed’s mental health and enlist the help of Professor Duncan. The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed’s winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness.
Series stars Danny Pudi and Allison Brie got to go behind the magic at the stop-motion studio and check out how things were going. Check out parts one and two of their all-access tour and be sure to catch “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas” Thursday, December 9th, on NBC.

Welcome to this week’s On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage this week. Let is know if we missed something interesting. Otherwise, on to the links!
• Joel McHale, proving to us once again that he’s the man, stopped by The Today Show to pimp Community and mock Kathy Lee and Hoda.
• Halloween may be over, but here are some awesome costumes you may have missed.
• People and their damned streaming. Internets everywhere have been clogged up by the massive use of Netflix over the past week.
• A laptop desk that you can attach to your steering wheel? Not since the first porn film played on a portable in-car DVD player has another device potentially caused so many accidents.
• Miss last Sunday’s pilot of AMC’s The Walking Dead? Well lucky for you, the episode is currently online in its entirety.
• Getting your list on, as usual, here are 10 of the best lessons taught to us by comics.
• A group of die hard Harry Potter fans gathered in the center of Grand Central to reenact one of their favorite scenes. New Yorkers were not phased.
• It looks like he may not have found another Alias after all, as J.J. Abrams’ Undercovers has officially gotten the boot from NBC.

It’s fate may be sealed by NBC, but that hasn’t stopped Community from being one of the most original and brilliant comedies on TV today. NBC has yet to make a decision on picking the show up for another season due to it’s mediocre ratings (damn you, Big Bang Theory!) while they are more than happy with the numbers for the new comedy Outsourced.
Before the decision gets made, we still get brand new adventures from our favorite Greendale Community College clique, and this week, things get even more interesting as Hilary Duff guest stars. From NBC.
After a classroom smackdown with a group of “mean girls” led by Meghan (guest star Hilary Duff), Britta, Shirley, and Annie bond with Abed by turning him into the ultimate “mean girl.” Meanwhile, Jeff and Troy embrace a zen-like spirituality under the guidance of a groundskeeper when they come across a secret trampoline on campus. Determined to uncover the source of their new bliss, Pierce ends up taking a disastrous turn on the trampoline and lands in the hospital.
We’ve got 2 brand new, can’t-miss clips from the episode for you after the jump, so check them out and catch Community this Thursday night on NBC.

Yesterday, we brought you 3 clips from tomorrow night’s episode of Community in which the students of Greendale Community College become members of the living dead. Today, we’ve got a few more lighthearted clips for you in which the gang get to try out some of their favorite costumes for this year’s festivities.
We all remember some of the great costumes from last year’s Halloween episode, such as Chevy Chase’s Master of the Universe, Donald Glover’s Eddie Murphy, or even Danny Pudi’s Christian Bale. This year, things only get better with even more obscure costumes.
Community may not be doing as well as it could in the ratings, but that hasn’t stopped this season from being one of the funniest shows currently running on TV. Be sure to support it by catching this all-new episode Thursday night at 8/7C on NBC.
In the meantime, check out these three new clips from the episode after the jump.
