Walter Hill makes fantastic men movies. The kinds of films that exude all of the best aspects of macho glory. From The Warriors to 48hrs and even the first episode of Deadwood, Hill just has what it takes to capture a man’s attention.
His newest film, Bullet to the Head, will be Hill’s first theatrical feature in a decade, and with 80s icons being resurrected left and right, the time is ripe for a return to his style of machismo. The movie stars Sylvester Stallone, Christian Slater and Jason Momoa and concerns a cop and a hit man teaming up together to fight a common adversary.
Bullet to the Head promises to be exactly the kind of no holds barred, knock down, drag out slug fest of a film that we don’t really see anymore. The first image released on Aint It Cool News shows off Stallone embroiled in an axe battle, and it just excites to no end. The Expendables 2 promises to bring all the familiar faces of 80s hard core action to the screen next year, but Bullet in the Head could deliver us the actual 80s style action spectacle.
Walter Hill’s Bullet to the Head is scheduled to his April 13th, 2012.

We can admit that the very first teaser trailer of Lionsgate’s upcoming Conan The Barbarian remake hit the web, we were far from impressed. It looked much like if Clash of the Titans and The Scorpion King had a baby, and that baby was not very pretty. Now, months later, we’re getting some killer action and things are finally starting to look awesome.
The film couldn’t come at a better time for star Jason Momoa, as he’s on top of the pop culture world after playing Khal Drogo on the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Now he’s really stretching outside his comfort zone and playing a barbarian that screws and kills…everything. Here’s the synopsis.
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
Sure, Kevin Sorbo went on this same adventure one too many times, but with a hard rock song playing in the background, and loads of blood, we can finally get behind this movie. Check out the trailer after the jump and see Conan in theaters and 3D on August 19th.

HBO’s Game of Thrones gets more interesting and compelling each week. Last week’s epiosde also gave new meaning to “getting crowned” and, let’s just say, put us off buying gold for awhile.
Anyway, the show is back this Sunday with a new episode and, of course, we’ve got a preview of it for you. In this one, which is entitled “The Pointy End”, those evil Lannisters press their advantage over the Starks. Meanwhile, Robb (Richard Madden) rallies his father’s northern allies and heads South to war.
Also, or so it would appear from the photo of this week’s episod above, Kahl Drogo has a couple knives and isn’t afraid to use them. Perhaps that explains the title of this week’s episode. We’ll find out soon enough.
Click through to watch the preview. Game of Thrones airs Sunday at 9/8C on HBO.

We’re still on the fence about the upcoming Conan the Barbarian. Sure, it could be cool and star Jason Momoa might just become the “next big thing” and take Arnold’s place as our new favorite Cimmerian warrior.
Or, the film could just as easily go down as yet another in a string of bad ideas that die a quick death at the box office. That’s what makes this business so interesting. Pretty much anything can, and does, happen.
Regardless of what will happen in the future, right now we’ve got the new poster for the film to share with you today. It gives us a good look at the character in action and if the movie ends up looking, and being, this cool, we’re hooked.
Here’s some more info about the film direct from the studio:
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
In addition to Momoa as Conan, the film features Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui and Ron Perlman. It’s directed by Marcus Nispel and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer and Sean Hood.
Check out the full poster after the jump. Conan the Barbarian hits theaters on August 19th.

Yesterday was a pretty big day for blockbuster trailers. We got a brand new feature trailer for Warner’s Green Lantern, which gave us some awesome moments like Kilowog speaking, the first shot of a Watcher, and loads of action. On the flip side of that, we got the first full trailer for Conan The Barbarian.
The first teaser that hit had a few fans up in arms about how low-quality it looked, and how cartooney the trailer as a whole felt. This one doesn’t get much better.
Sure, we get lots more Jason Momoa as Conan, a few shots of Rachel Nichols, and some shirtless Stephen Lang, but to be honest, the film has a bit of a “Syfy original movie” feel to it.
Be the judge for yourself, check out the trailer after the jump and if you don’t think it looks like the illegitimate lovechild of Clash of the Titans and The Scorpion King, then sound off! Conan The Barbarian is set to hit theaters on August 19th.

HBO usually does pretty well with TV series. From Rome to Deadwood to The Sopranos, True Blood, Treme’ and Boardwalk Empire, the pay cable network usually brings the drama and brings it but good. The upcoming series Game of Thrones looks to carry on that tradition.

It follows the machinations of various kings, lords and soldiers as they fight for control of the throne. The show stars Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey and Jason Momoa. We’ve got a brand new trailer for the show for you today.

Among the items on the agenda this time around are the new Green Hornet trailer, the Dr. Strange movie and who should play the character, a bit more talk about E3, Jason Momoa as Conan, M. Night Shyamalan’s new “secret” movie and a whole lot more.
The boys also made some picks this week including Matt’s pick of the book The Man Who Heard Voices: Or, How M. Night Shyamalan Risked His Career on a Fairy Tale and Chris’ pick of the Brian K. Vaughn comic Dr. Strange: The Oath.

Since I was first exposed to Conan in cinematic form by Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Milius in 1982′s Conan the Barbarian, that version has been by definitive on screen incarnation of Robert E. Howard’s character. Now, with the reboot of the franchise well underway and a new actor taking on the role, I may need to get used to a whole new version.
Previously, we brought you news of the new actor, Jason Momoa, and some other info from the film. Now, we’ve got another more “official” look at Momoa as Conan in this new photo from the Nu Boyana Film Studios site.
Although it’s just one pic he does look a lot like Conan, especially as envisioned by Frank Frazetta in many of his iconic paintings. Momoa seems to have the look of a true Cimmerian and I, for one, am going to give him a chance to supplant Arnold’s portrayal as my favorite.
The Lionsgate release of Conan, under the direction of Marcus Nispel, in addition to Moma features Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Rose McGowan. Look for it to hit theaters sometime in 2011.
Check out a larger pic of Momoa as Conan after the break.

Kudos to HBO for jumping into the big budget fantasy genre with Game of Thrones, an upcoming series based on George R. R. Martin’s bestselling A Song of Ice and Fire novels. Deadline has posted the show’s first teaser trailer, which features the tagline “Winter Is Coming” and gives us a few quick glimpses at what we can expect from the show.
This trailer doesn’t really give away a whole lot about the story and in truth, its more of a teaser than a trailer. Still, it’s good to see HBO seems to be on the ball in capturing the essence of the novels. Plus, the show looks great. With Treme’, True Blood, Boarwalk Empire and now Game of Thrones, HBO seems to be the place for quality and diverse entertainment these days.
Game of Thrones is set in a world where magic exists and the empire is on its last legs. It follows the machinations of various kings, lords and soldiers as they fight for control of the throne. The show stars Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey and Jason Momoa.
Check out the new trailer after the jump. Game of Thrones comes to HBO in 2011. Are you ready for winter?

This week more than one thing involving Conan seems to be getting settled. Yesterday, we told you about Conan O’Brien making a deal with NBC to step away from The Tonight Show. Now, word comes from Deadline Hollywood that Millennium Films, Lionsgate and Paradox Entertainment have chosen an actor to take on the role of Conan the Barbarian in their brand new Conan movie — and that actor is Jason Momoa.
Momoa, who has appeared in Stargate Atlantis and also stars in HBO’s Game of Thrones, reportedly beat Kellan Lutz of Twilight fame for chance to play the titular hero. Apparently, Conan director Marcus Nispel was sold on Momoa, and won over the filmmakers by shooting some test scenes that allowed Momoa to wield a sword and behave very “Schwarzenegger-like.”
The film, which re-boots the Conan franchise and tells the origin of Robert E. Howard’s famous character, is now on course for a March 15 production start in Bulgaria. No word yet on additional casting or a release date but we have heard that producers have reached out to Mickey Rourke to play Conan’s father in the film. More on that as it develops.
