With a full year of mediocre shows hitting this fall, it was a race to the finish line to see which would be the first to make it to the chopping block. While our money was on Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing, it turns out NBC was the first to buckle with their controversial new show The Playboy Club.
After making tons of waves with the PTC, it turns out the ratings just weren’t enough to sustain the potential legal and PR issues, as NBC has given it the axe after three lackluster episodes. From EW:
NBC’s biggest primetime gamble just became the first cancelled show of the season: The Playboy Club has been pulled from the network’s schedule.

You can’t always believe what you read on Twitter. I know, shocking, right? However, when news comes directly from the verified account of none other than Playboy Magazine founder and publisher Hugh Hefner, we take notice.
So, what did Mr. Hefner have to say? Well, in a recent couple of messages the man himself revealed that his magazine which got millions of young men through adolescence would be coming soon to Apple’s iPad. And as if that wasn’t enough, according to Hef, the magazine will be completely uncensored. Nice.
This development is very convenient for those out there who like their tech and their naked women to be closely tied together. It’s also a good deal for Hefner who is able to get his magazine into the hands of potentially millions more subscribers.
No word yet on potential pricing or subscription models available but we can hope it will be in line with current print edition — or even cheaper.
Update: It seems Hef wasn’t talking about a new iPad App Playboy App as some had suggested. Instead, he was referring to a web based subscription service available on the iPad. That’s the version that will be uncensored. I guess you really can’t believe what you read on Twitter.

Welcome to this week’s On the Radar where we delve into all corners of the entertainment, tech and geek Internets for news, views and whatnot that may have escaped our regular coverage this week. Let is know if we missed something interesting. Let’s get started!
• We knew somebody would bitch. A conservative group of “people” have declared war on the Thor film for casting Idris Elba as a Norse God.
• ‘Tis the season . . . to adapt the classic Bed Intruder YouTube sensation into a Christmas Carol. Blame the mohawk-sporting conductor!
• Anybody who uses Google Docs knows how awesome it can be, but here‘s an amazing animation using the online tool just to prove that fact.
• In honor of Tron: Legacy hitting theaters this weekend, Playboy payed homage with their own Tron themed adult photos. Thankfully, they skipped any nudity with a Bruce Boxleitner look alike.
• Love The Walking Dead? Well, you’re going to want to catch our very own Matt Raub as he hosts a weekly recap show discussing AMC’s hit. Flickcast Editor Chris Ullrich even stops by for a visit!
• We’ve seen images, but now the first video of the Tim Burton Superman Lives costume test has hit the web. Thank Zod this film never got made.
• In honor of the holidays, here’s a list of the top non-traditional Christmas movies.
• Plus, how about a list of the top Christmas action movies? We love lists, why not? Yippie-Kay-Yay Santa!
• It’s official: George Lucas doesn’t give a shit anymore. Why? Because in the new Star Wars: Force Unleashed II game you can kill Han Solo and Chewbacca. Dammit George, why?
• List for list’s sake: The top 10 films of 2010 that made WAY more money than they deserved.
• Finally, because we love it so, here’s that alternate ending to the new Yogi Bear movie we told you about before. Yes, it’s definitely worth a look.

It’s very rare that one can have Back to the Future and almost naked models on the same page. Thanks to Playboy.com (Just like Playboy magazine but with less page turning), you can finally merge those two things in your brain.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the first Back to the Future film, the online adult entertainment stop put together a themed photo shoot about all things BTTF. This includes a half naked She-Marty on a hoverboard, half naked Doc She-Brown hanging from the clocktower, and a whole bunch of half naked women hanging off of a DeLorean.
We can’t decide if this is a brilliant idea, or just bastardizing a timeless franchise. In a world where sexy costumes rule, and even the Raphael of the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles isn’t safe, why can’t there be sexy scenes from Back To the Future?
Sadly, they missed a perfect opportunity to capitalize on the awkward relationship between Marty and Doc Brown around the campfire in BTTF 3. Maybe next time, Playboy.
In the meantime, you can check out the full sized one-sheet after the jump, and head over to Playboy.com for some more SFW images. Something tells us this isn’t what Huey Lewis had in mind when he sang about “The Power of Love.”

Aside from some potentially disturbing images, news has been pretty quiet about casting for Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2. But recently, G4′s Olivia Munn, host of Attack of the Show, tweeted on Twitter that she’s working on two new film projects, one being the Tina Fey/Steve Carell project Date Night, and one that she couldn’t “legally” discuss.
It turns out that the film in question is Iron Man 2 and the general assumption is that she will have more of a cameo, showing up in a scene or two. Munn did, however, say on Twitter that she will “definitely” have a bigger part than her one-minute scene in Rob Schneider’s direct-to-DVD film Big Stan.
Aside from Stan, Munn can soon be seen in Broken Lizard’s Slammin’ Salmon, and of course every day on G4′s Attack of the Show, where they just announced Munn’s (clothed) appearance in the August/July issue of Playboy.
Check out the video of her Playboy shoot after the jump.
