Go Behind The Scenes On ‘The Green Hornet’

by Sebastian Suchecki, Dec 23 2010 // 10:30 AM

It’s funny how the general perspective on Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry’s upcoming Green Hornet for Sony has changed over the past year. The film was destined to fail several times after playing musical chairs with the director, pushing the date back more that 6 months, and converting the film to 3D after it was in the can. However, now that the film has been released to critics, word is coming out that the movie may be worth something after all.

The script comes from Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the best friend team that brought us Superbad and Pineapple Express, so you know these two can at least bring the funny. The biggest concern has been the trailer that was released, which shows the film in a very unfunny light.

After checking out what things looked like on the set, however, this could end up being just an editing error, and the movie may just be what we expect in a campy superhero comedy.

Check out the behind the scenes featurette after the jump and catch skinny Rogen in The Green Hornet in theaters on January 14th in both 2D and 3D.

Promo For ‘Robot Chicken Star Wars III’ Hits The Web

by Matt Raub, Dec 3 2010 // 10:00 AM

In what feels like a George Lucas joke arms race, Seth Green’s Robot Chicken and Seth McFarlane’s Family Guy have been going neck and neck with their own Star Wars specials. The good thing is that there is no real loser, as both productions share much of the same talent, and we all benefit.

Hard to believe, but coming up this month is the third installments of both Robot Chicken and Family Guy’s specials. It’s A Trap, McFarlane’s Return of the Jedi spoof will be hitting DVD and digital download on December 21st, but Green has him beat by mere hours, as Robot Chicken: Star Wars III airs on Adult Swim December 19th at 11:30.

All of your favorite characters are back for the special, like Donald Faison as the Stormtrooper, Breckin Meyer as Boba Fett, Seth McFarlane as Palpatine, and countless other voice actors lending a hand.

Check out the very first promo for the special after the jump and be sure to tune into Adult Swim on December 19th.

First Trailer For ‘Family Guy: It’s A Trap!’ Hits The Web

by Matt Raub, Nov 23 2010 // 10:30 AM

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any funnier, Seth McFarlane and his band of miscreants are at it again, as they round out their Star Wars trilogy with Family Guy: It’s A Trap!

Taking on the events of Return of the Jedi, here’s the full rundown from Apple:

Clear some space for the third chapter of the funniest freakin’ trilogy in the galaxy! Once again, the Family Guy alliance travels far, far beyond the beyond the boundaries of good taste to bring you an outrageous sci-fi spoof filled with hilarious humor, adequate animation and a happy ending (giggity). So get ready to experience the lighter side of the Dark side with Peter Solo, Chris Skywalker, Princess Lois, Stewie Vader… and some surprising new faces. May the laughs be with you!

Let’s hope that this is a large enough success for the team to take on the new Star Wars trilogy next, as we all know how much those are ripe for satire. Check out the trailer after the jump and catch It’s A Trap on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital download on December 21st.

Fox Sets Fall TV Premiere Dates

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 13 2010 // 3:00 PM

Some of our favorite shows happen to be on the Fox Network. Sure, Fox is also the network that, shall we say “mis-handled” both Firefly and Dollhouse, but that doesn’t stop them from also having some shows we really like.

With that in mind, we bring you the announcement of Fox’s premiere dates for most of its upcoming Fall shows. Some of the ones we are most interested in include the return of House on September 20th, the return of Glee on September 21st, the return of Fringe on September 23rd and the return of Human Target on September 24th.

Also, Family Guy is back on October 3rd with a one-hour special which will, most likely, feature a couple musical numbers. Click through for the full schedule of new and returning Fox shows along with their premiere dates.

Adult Swim Orders Two More Seasons Of ‘Robot Chicken’

by Matt Raub, Jan 21 2010 // 2:00 PM

51XWAxJT8fL-783188While Adult Swim may just be a subdivision of Cartoon Network, a cable network that bases itself on mainly animated programming, they seem to be doing quite well for themselves. They’ve been able to stack the deck with highly watched syndicated shows, and outrageously funny original programming. One original show in particular is doing better than even the show creators were expecting is Robot Chicken.

The show, which is a 15-minute comedy done entirely with stop-motion animation and old MEGO dolls, was created back in 2005 by Seth Green and partner Matt Senreich. Since then, the show has grown in leaps and bounds, popularity-wise.The network has just ordered a whopping 40 new episodes (roughly two new seasons) of the show, and according to Variety, the creators are more surprised than we are.

“It’s kind of amazing,” Green said. “We never expected to do a second season, let alone a fifth and sixth. We’re really busy, but we’re still having a lot of fun making it.”

Clip From This Week’s Venture Bros. Episode ‘Self-Medication’

by Matt Raub, Nov 19 2009 // 8:00 AM

s640x480Over the past few weeks we’ve been able to bring you exclusive preview clips of upcoming episodes of The Venture Bros., which have shown off some of the truly great stories that the show’s creators, Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick, have brought to us this season.

This week’s episode is shrouded in a bit of mystery, but we were able to determine this awesome fact: both Robot Chicken’s Seth Green, Patton Oswalt, John Hodgman of the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” Apple Ads lend their voices as guest stars. That information should be enough to keep you glued to your computer screen as you watch the preview clip after the jump.

This season alone, the show has had Kevin Conroy (THE voice of Batman), and Brendan Small (Metalocalypse) make an appearance. Check out the clip from “Self-Medication” after the jump and be sure to catch it on Adult Swim this Sunday at Midnight.

First Images From Adult Swim’s ‘Titan Maximum’

by Matt Raub, Sep 11 2009 // 11:15 AM

Picture 1The folks over at Adult Swim have been pretty spot on with animated (and even live action) comedies in the past few years. They have produced some impressive shows, such as Venture Bros., Frisky Dingo, and of course, Robot Chicken. Due to the success of the latter, the show’s creators have developed a new show, Titan Maximum.

The show is about the Titan Force Five a team of young heroes who band together after breaking up to take down one of their own who turned to the dark side. It’s basically a claymation Voltron accept updated with the sense of humor of Tom Root, Matt Senreich, and Seth Green. Starring some of the Robot Chicken regulars like Breckin Meyer, Rachael Leigh Cook, Dan Milano, Eden Espinosa, and Seth Green.

Titan Maximum premieres September 27 at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Check out the first new images of the show, and keep it here for a review of the pilot coming soon.
