Okay Star Trek: The Next Generation Fans, this one is for you. Without much in the way of introduction, let’s just say that not very many men can make something as ordinary as sitting down this artful and, yes, this manly.
So, thank you Commander Riker. We could all learn something from you. You are, indeed, a boss.

As someone who made one or two commercials in the past, I can’t say all that much about the creative merits of this particular commercial except it didn’t really motivate me to buy an Audi. But that’s not really the purpose of this commercial anyway.
What’s the purpose then? Well, that’s debatable. However, to a Star Trek-loving geek like myself, I also say it’s pretty irrelevant. I just loved it because I get to see two great actors, who’ve played one of the most iconic characters in history, have a bit of fun. Plus, after today’s earlier sad news, I could use a bit of fun.
The two actors in question are Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto who, of course, both played Spock in various incarnations of Star Trek. The commercial in question is “The Challenge” and in it Spock battles Spock to see who can get to the golf course first. The loser buys lunch. Who wins?
Well, I won’t spoil it for you except to say that the solution found by Spock is highly logical, pretty darn funny and a great twist.
Check out the commercial after the break.

In truth, I kinda like the fact that we live in a world that can have two separate movies in the same year where the White House gets taken over by bad guys. It worked when we had competing asteroid/comet movies, so why not with this?
Obviously, Hollywood agrees with me as in addition to Olympus Has Fallen, which came out a couple months ago, we’ve now got White House Down. This one stars Channing Tatum as a Capitol cop at the White House with his daughter who gets caught up in an paramilitary invasion.
Roland Emmerich directs James Vanderbilt’s script and the movie also stars Jamie Foxx, Jason Clarke and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Look for it in theaters on June 28.
Meantime, check out the trailer for White House Down after the break.

For things like movies, TV shows and games, it’s pretty easy to get excited about a certain product when you see a trailer or other prmo-type material. Movies, TV programs and games are tangible things we have a lot of experience with so we pretty much know what we’re getting into. Then there’s something like Google Glass.
This is a product so different and, at the moment, so scarce, it’s difficult to really know what to think about it. Is it the “next big thing” or is it jus another fad that will disappear as fast as it appeared? Time will tell.
What does help answer this question, at least a bit, is all the videos and more Google are putting out about Glass. In this latest one, a pretty comprehensive ‘How To”, Glass’ features and use are explained in detail.
The video shows you how to navigate the UI with the side touchpad, adjust the display for optimal viewing, and put the device to sleep to help conserve battery. It also gives a better look at the whole experience than what we’ve seen so far.
We’re still not convinced that Google Glass is the “next big thing” and/or a “must have.” However, it is nice to see more of what Google has in mind for the product. Who knows, if they keep this up, they might just convince us after all.

Yes, we were supposed to get a Steve Jobs biopic featuring Ashton Kutcher as the iconic Apple frontman, but who knows what happened to that. We hear it’s not that great (putting it nicely) and will likely end up on video very soon.
However, even with the Kutcher movie coming out eventually, that hasn’t stopped the gang at Funny or Die from making a Jobs biopic of their own. This one features Justin Long as Jobs, who you may recall played opposite John Hodgman in Apple’s popular “Get a Mac” ad campaign. The hour-long movie, called iSteve, will make its debut on April 15th on the Funny or Die website.
To promote it, Funny or Die released a trailer, as you might expect. Watching the trailer, which isn’t much more than a collection of words and audio with one shot of Long as Jobs, we already think it’s going to be better than the Kutcher version. Well, at the very least, it will be intentionally funny.
Check out the trailer after the break.

Now that the cat, er smartphone, is out of the bag, Samsung has wasted no time in releasing all sorts of cool stuff about their new flagship device: the Galaxy S IV. One such tidbit is a video highlighting some of the many featutes the device has to offer.
The video include everything from an explanation of the new display tech, how to use the phone with gloves on, group gameplay, S Translator, S Health, and more. Plus, it gives you a good idea of how the device responds to commands and the speed in which it executes various tasks.
Samsung has really taken things to a new level with the Galaxy S IV. As Apple’s only real competitor in this market, they have definitely thrown down the gauntlet.
It will be very interesting to see if Apple picks it. Our guess? They will likely just keep on doing what they’ve ben doing and, for the most part, ignore the competition. It seems to have worked pretty wel for the so far.
Check out the video after the break.

With Samsung’s press event a short time away (tonight at 7PM Eastern, to be exact), more photos and videos have come out showing the new hotness that is the Galaxy S IV. These new leaks leave little doubt as to what the new device will look like and to most of its cooler features.
The high-quality photos, curtesy of IT168, show the handset’s sleek design in sharp detail and pretty much confirm what everyone already thought it would look like. The videos also do pretty much the same and highlight several of the features of the Galaxy S IV including floating touch, a new lock screen and the devices speed at browsing the Internets.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, an eight-core Exynos processor or a quad-core Snapdragon chipset depending on region, up to 64GB of storage, 2GB or RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Check out the photos and the videos after the break.

The film distribution landscape just got a bit bigger as online video service Vimeo revealed its new ‘Vimeo On Demand’ service this week at the SXSW Film + Interactive Festival. This new distribution feature will allow content creators to sell films and webisodes directly to viewers.
Creators with a Vimeo Pro account can set their own prices, streaming periods, and region parameters for content, and earn 90% of the revenue their content generates. Vimeo On Demand will be viewable across Vimeo-enabled platforms including online and mobile, tablets, and connected TVs.
Said Vimeo, via the company’s blog:
We’re creators ourselves, and we know how hard it can be to get your work out there and connect with an audience. Since we founded Vimeo in 2004, we’ve been dreaming of a world where more and more creators can support themselves with their work alone. Today we’re proud to be taking a big step in that direction, and there are many more exciting steps to come.
For more, check out a video from Vimeo after the break.

If you haven’t been following along, Google’s Project Glass is something of a revolution. Or, at least it could be. It’s connected eyewear that allows you to interface with all manner of input while still enjoying your immediate surroundings.
Yeah, okay, but what can you really use it for? Well, if you’re a man, perhaps this video can help you figure out an answer (or a few) to that question.
Check out the video after the break. For more, check out Google’s actual, official site for Google Glass.
And no, Megan Fox doesn’t really have much to do with Google Glass, she’s just a woman you might end up using it on someday. Yeah science!

The cool Starz series Magic City returns for season two this Summer, but to get you ready, we’ve got a great video with a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff to share with you today. In it show creator Mitch Glazer and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, James Caan, Olga Kurylenko, Danny Huston, Steven Strait and Jessica Marais discuss the making of season two of the Miami-based, 1950’s mob drama.
Here’s some more scoop on season two, directly from the Starz press release:
Ike Evans (Morgan) risks everything in a life and death battle to rid his Miramar Playa Hotel of the mob and Ben “The Butcher” Diamond (Huston). Ike’s dangerous plan to defeat Ben takes Ike from Havana’s glamorous casinos to dealings with a new devil – Ben’s boss in the Chicago Outfit.

Today, Twitter released it’s new iOS app called Vine, which allows users to shoot video clips and then share them by embedding them in tweets.
Vine videos are limited to a maximum of six seconds, and play in a continuous loop. They are shot using the Vine app, which you can get right here.
In a post, Vine co-founder and general manager Dom Hofmann wrote: “Posts on Vine are about abbreviation — the shortened form of something larger. They’re little windows into the people, settings, ideas and objects that make up your life. They’re quirky, and we think that’s part of what makes them so special.”
According to many, this is supposed to be “the Instagram of Twitter”, but it reamins to be seen if people will take to it in such rabid fashion as they have to Instagram. With many users already signing on to try the service, one complaint we’ve already heard is that the videos playing in a continuous loop, much like GIFs, is kinda annoying.
Yeah, we can see that. Get the new Vine app for free over at Apple’s App Store. Let us know what you think.

We like many things in the world of movies, tv, comics and pop culture. The content of this post will include several of those. What could it be?
It’s a video. And in this video you’ve got geek icon Wil Wheaton reading from a new novel called Gun Machine by the extraordinary Warren Ellis featuring artwork from the amazing Ben Templesmith. In short, if you like any of the things we like, this video will have something for you.
Probably more than one thing. Enjoy and you’re welcome.
Check it out below.

How do you measure a year? Don’t worry, I’m not about to break out into song. But my answer does involve at least three of the hottest songs of the year. It also includes a dancing zebra, a man skydiving from space, some gamers and probably close to 1,000,000 calories. In just one day, YouTube.com’s year in review video has garnered more than 17,000,000 views (a number that will most likely be obsolete by the time this post even goes live). But the video isn’t just a compilation video or highlight reel.
Take a peek below at the cast of YouTube celebrities brought together for this remix rewind of all of their top viewed trending videos. With over billion of views between the stars of the video (over 980,000,000 for PSY’s “Gangam Style” alone), some of these people who may not have ever graced a movie screen have become more recognizable than some television or big screen actors.
Some of these people featured have found themselves on TV because of their YouTube fame including iJustine who appeared in the Call of Duty: Black Ops II “Surprise” trailer.

Okay BSG fans, today is the day. If you’ve been missing that hot Cylon vs. Man action, things are going to get a whole lot better starting right frakkin’ now.
Why? Well, because today Machinima, Inc. and Universal Cable Productions premiered the first 2 episodes of the new show Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome. And because we love you (and BSG, of course) we’ve got the first two episodes of the show right after the break.
In case you haven’t been keeping up, this new show takes place during the first Cylon war and tells the story of “gifted fighter pilot William Adama (Luke Pasqualino) who finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Full of ambition and hungry for action, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle-weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton). With only 47 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle as much as Adama craves its onset.”
New episodes will roll out every Friday exclusively on Machinima Prime. As we said, check out the first two episodes after the break.
