Comic-Con comes and goes but the memories never leave… because we take video… and add music to it… and post it to YouTube. This was the 7th year The Flickcast has been at SDCC, and though the whole crew couldn’t make it down this time, those of us who did made sure to fully represent. As always, way more happened than we could fully capture on camera but we did our best to catch as much of it as possible as we could.
Some of the highlights for this year:

Working in both the entertainment industry and in YouTube, you’re bound to hear a lot of silly things said. “There’s no way people would want to watch someone else play video games.” “She looked like she had to be 18, right?” “He can’t wait to put me in his next feature.” But there’s one statement that you hear and you just know people are full of it.
When prepping for SDCC this year, I was asking a bunch of friends from various social circles who was heading to Comic Con and there was a common thread from those who weren’t going. They all used the phrase, “I think everyone is over Comic Con.”
Now I can see where this statement might be coming from. One could argue that year after year San Diego Comic Con can start to wear you a little thin by the end of it. No sleep, bad diet and abundance of partying can kick your butt. But when you look back a month later after recovering from the nerd flu you inevitably were stricken with a few days after it ended, you’re up and ready to rock once again.
But this year, there seem to be people claiming that “everyone” is over the Con. And this is where I call them out on it.

For those lucky millions who have made it to San Diego in July for Comic-Con International, you know how truly epic it is for fans. That’s why infamous niche documentary director Morgan Spurlock felt it was time to put the limelight on the droves of Klingons, Autobots, caped crusaders, and Anime teens that attend the show each year. Enter Comic-Con Episode IV, A Fan’s Hope.
The film is clearly stamping all over the nerd genre, even with the name, by playing to what we nerds really love: geeky celebs. You’ll see cameos from resident geeks like Eli Roth, Kevin Smith, Seth Rogan, and tons others pledge their love for the 4 day nerd fest like no other. Also, the story follows the lives of a few legitimate geeks who pledge their lives to all things nerdy. Here’s the synopsis:
Have you ever imagined a place where Vulcans and vampires get along? Where wizards and wookies can be themselves? Welcome to Comic-Con San Diego. What started as a fringe comic book convention for 500 fans has grown into the pop culture event of the year that influences every form of entertainment, now attended by over 140,000 strong. COMIC-CON EPISODE IV: A FAN’S HOPE- a film by Morgan Spurlock explores this amazing cultural phenomenon by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.
Take a look at a list of dates the film will be doing across the country, and the first trailer, after the jump.
