It’s a brand new episode of The Flickcast and on this one Chris and Joe move into a different dimension: time. That’s right, time. As in they go back in time . . . back to the beginning.
If you’ve ever wondered how it all started and what shaped and created our intrepid hosts, then you’re in for a treat. This is that story.
But don’t worry. There’s no radioactive spiders, fleeing far away planets right before they explode or parents being killed in an alley next to a movie theater. And absolutely no pearl necklaces falling to the ground in excruciating slo-mo. Not this time, anyway.
Instead, the boys take it all the way back and talk about the things that made them they way they are today. Movies, television, music, games, comics and many of the other influences that shaped their impressionable young minds. In other words: This is their origin story.
It’s pretty epic. Thanks for listening.

It’s a brand new episode of The Flickcast. And this time, we’re not alone.
That’s right, this week Chris and Joe welcome special guest Jason Inman. He’s an author, host, comic book writer, podcaster and Army veteran. Plus, he’s a great guy.
The three discuss Jason’s life growing up in Kansas, his time in the military and the development of his love for comics and writing. They also discuss other things including DC versus Marvel, Star Trek, first video game consoles and Jason’s dislike for Klingons.
They also talk about social media, fandom, the treatment of women in comics and entertainment and dealing with things during this weird time. They also get into life, family, the search for toys, talking to your kids about starting a YouTube channel and the first time he saw his comic for sale in a store.

That’s right. It’s time for a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Get excited. It’s a great day.
On this week’s episode Chris and Joe discuss a bunch of new stuff including more about Game of Thrones, Netflix’s The Defenders, The Punisher, the new Star Trek, revenge as a motive and more. Plus, the usual even more.
No beer selections again this week because the boys are recording in the morning again. And drinking in the morning is, well, probably a bad idea. Probably. Anyway, if you do drink beer (or whatever), try to buy local. It helps and it’s just a nice thing to do.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of an item that everyone should have: a first aid kit. Joe’s pick this week is a challenge to all to donate to a relief organization like the American Red Cross or the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.

We’re big fans of the Marvel series we’ve seen so far on Netflix. Starting with Daredevil, through Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, each series builds on the previous one and seems to get better and better. And now, with the release of its first full trailer, we’re feeling pretty confidant Iron Fist will be added to the list.
Billed as the final piece of The Defenders puzzle, Iron Fist follows the exploits of Danny Rand, recently returned to New York after many years thought dead, and possessing extraordinary material arts prowess. In short, he’s back and ready to clean up the streets, with a little help from his friends and his, well, iron fist. Cool.
Check out the latest trailer after the break. Look for Iron Fist to arrive on Netflix on March 17th.

It’s time for a brand new episode of The Flickcast. And because we still don’t keep to a regular schedule these days, let’s say this one (like the last two episodes) arrived right on time. Still cool? Cool.
On this week’s show Chris and Joe continue to discuss the controversy surrounding the new Captain America comic, the 30th anniversary of Top Gun, assholes who boo at the movies, DC Rebirth, The Flash season finale, the end of a great Game of Thrones character and what it means for the show in general, the next James Bond, cans versus bottles and more. Plus, more.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of the Rodeo Clown Double IPA from Karbach Brewery and Joe’s pick of the Samsung Galaxy Tap S2.

That’s right. It’s time for a brand new episode of The Flickcast. And because we don’t really keep to a regular schedule these days, let’s just say this one arrived right on time. Cool? Cool.
On this week’s show Chris and Joe pretty much devote the entire episode to the latest Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Civil War. It’s a big movie and it deserves a lot of time for discussion. So, the boys take a lot of time.
They do manage to discuss a couple other things too, but that’s pretty much near the end. So if you’re looking for some Civil War talk, you’ve come to the right place. If you want something else, well, there’s always next week.
Picks this week include, you guessed it, Captain America: Civil War. Unanimously. But really, we don’t have to tell you to go see this one, do we?

That’s right, it’s time for an all-new episode of The Flickcast. And yes, we realize it’s a bit late. We’re trying to get better. Honest.
Meantime, on this week’s show Chris and Joe talk about all sorts of stuff including the DC Universe, Captain America: Civil War, outsourcing the new Star Trek series, Game of Thrones least best kept secret, the new Jack Ryan movie and more. Plus, there’s even more.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of the movie Deadpool, now available in your own home, and Joe’s pick of the new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Yes, he picked a trailer. So?

What characters were rip-offs of others? Are comics and pro wrestling actually tied together? Is the story from the comic better than the story in the movie? Just what the heck was happening in comics in the 90’s?
These are some questions any reasonable human being who contributes a portion of their weekly salary to the funny books may ask. The Flickcast alumni Jonathan ‘Wally’ Weilbaecher and I join forces with Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles to answer these and more.
With regulars Joe Slepski of The Joe on Joe podcast, Pablo Romero-Estevez and Alan ‘Sizzler’ Kistler of Crazy Sexy Geeks and some guests like Lucha Underground’s Joey Ryan and The Flickcast co-founder Matt Raub, we haven’t come to many conclusions but we have had a ton of fun arguing our way there.

Con Season 2016 has begun! With everything from PAX East this upcoming weekend all the way to Comikaze in October, the best half of the year is underway. In an effort to best cover these, The Flickcast has made sure I have appropriate credentials to get on the floor (or at the least, a map of where all the best bars and parties are) at each convention.
First, I headed to WonderCon as a part of The Flickcast team and Whiskey & Waffles. At the event, I had four very important ‘jobs’:
1. Speak on the SKYBOUND panel about digital video creators
2. Take the Mighty Wallet Challenge
3. Snag one of Loot Crate’s 2016 Convention Exclusive Crates
4. Cosplay as Hawkeye
