That’s right another week has passed and we’ve got another brand new episode of The Flickcast for you. And before you ask, this makes an unbroken streak of seven episodes in a row for the new year. High five! Or, really, high seven!
On this week’s show, Chris and Joe talk about a whole bunch of stuff including the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, the Oscars, Lawrence Kasdan, Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones, Comic-Con badges, line hassles, Hall H nightmares and a whole lot more. Yep. Lots more.
Picks this week include Chris’ pick of the new novel Half the World by Joe Abercrombie and Joe’s pick of the new Odd Couple series starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon.

Once again, it’s a brand new episode of The Flickcast. Don’t worry, we’re not counting them to make some kind of point. But if we were, we could tell you this is the fourth episode in a row for the new year. Again, not that we’re counting or trying to make a point.
On this week’s show, Chris and Joe talk about a whole slew of new and recurring topics . . . as usual. Some of these topics include the occasional humor of Saturday Night Live, the reboot of Ghostbusters featuring an all-female cast, the first Game of Thrones trailer, the talent and somewhat less talent of Kristen Wigg and Melissa McCarthy, making movies on an iPhone 5s, Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones and a whole lot more. As if that’s not enough already.
Picks this week are back to more of the usual with Chris’ pick of the movie John Wick
, starring Keanu Reeves, and Joe’s pick of the new web browser called Vivaldi.

That’s right, it’s Friday. Fortunately, as bad as the week can sometimes get, we can always look forward to this day showing up to help us end the week correctly and get ready for the weekend.
One way Friday helps do that is by providing us with brand new episodes of some of our favorite shows: Grimm and Dracula. And to get you ready for tonights new episodes, we’ve got previews. Duh, of course we do.
First off with Grimm, it’s a bit of domestic bliss as Monroe and Rosalee learn to live together. But all isn’t roses as Nick must do battle against an evil mermaid Wesen. Yep, mermaid.
Then on Dracula, an old friend drops by to cause complications for Greyson. And, of course, Dracula is up to his old tricks again too. We’ve also got a preview for this weeks’s Saturday Night Live with musical guest/host Lady Gaga.
Check out all the previews after the break and look for all the action to start tonight at 9/8C with Grimm.

We don’t often post videos from Saturday Night Live, but this one is pretty great. So sit back, relax and enjoy Lazy Sunday 2 — on a Sunday — in all its glory.

Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis, Brie Larson and Fred Armisen will star in a relationship comedy that marks the directorial debut of writer Christopher Storer, Relanxious.
Other than being a fairly obnoxious combination of words, Relanxious follows Barrett, played by Wilde, an anxiety-ridden woman who meets and is smitten with George, played by Sudeikis. George is agoraphobic and so their courtship is limited to phone conversations in which they discuss the dates they would go on if their phobias didn’t stand in the way. As the fantasies develop, the two must decide if they can put aside their fears in order to find real-life romance. Larsen plays Barrett’s sister, and Armisen plays George’s friend and only contact with the outside world.
Wilde recently wrapped her work Steve Carell – Jim Carrey comedy Burt Wonderstone. Sudeikis is still appearing on Saturday Night Live and last appeared on the big screen in Horrible Bosses. Larsen will be seen in this month’s 21 Jump Street remake and Sudeikis’ fellow SNL castmember Armisen has been working on his IFC series Portlandia, which just got picked up for a third season.
The film will be produced by Daniel Dubiecki, who recently launched The Allegiance Theater, and Lorene Scafaria, writer/director of the upcoming Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Relanxious will shoot this summer in Chicago.

To say that people love celebrity train wrecks would be a bit of an understatement. The existence and popularity of shows like Celebrity Rehab, Kim & Kourtney Take New York, and every other reality on VH1 should prove above anything else that schadenfreude is at an all-time high.
That means that when the mother of all modern celebrity horror stories, Lindsay Lohan, hosts a live, anything-can-happen style comedy show, people are bound to tune in to see exactly what would and could go wrong. It turns out enough people tuned in for the episode to break a few records for the year, sadly. From THR:
Despite critics ripping apart Lohan’s fourth time hosting the late-night comedy sketch show, last night’s SNL delivered the show’s highest-scoring regular performance of the season, with a 5.5 overnight household rating.

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Matt inch ever closer to the magical 100th episode of the show. It’s getting closer every day but until then, they still had this episode to do and do it they did.
This week’s topics include lots of new trailers including Green Lantern and The Muppets, the state of 3D movies at the Box Office, the technical glitches of some movie theater chains on the East Coast, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Torchwood: Children of Earth and much more. Sadly, they also talked about Charlie Sheen, Ashton Kutcher and Two and a Half Men . . . but only for a minute.
Of course, the boys made some picks this week including Matt’s pick of John Carpenter’s They Live and Chris’ pick of the book Bossypants by SNL and 30 Rock writer and star Tina Fey.

We don’t usually post highlights from Saturday Night Live here at the site. However, in the case of last night’s season finale with host Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady Gaga, the footage is just too funny to pass up.
Obviously, others agree as the finale scored the best ratings for the show in seven years, Plus, we got another in the series of digital shorts with Timberlake and Andy Samberg, which started several years go with Dick in a Box, then Motherlover and now with last night’s new one: 3-Way.
The new short also features Lady Gaga and goes a long way to explain the rules, well at least the “Golden Rule”, when it comes to a threesome. Yes, that means exactly what you think it means.
Okay, enough talk. Click through to check out highlights from the show. Great job SNL.

He may never play Superman or Captain Marvel, but Robert Smigel and the gang at Saturday Night Live finally got Jon Hamm to portray one of America’s most treasured superheroes: Ace of the Ambiguously Gay Duo.
This past week marked a special episode of SNL, as Robert Smigel’s “Saturday TV Funhouse” presented the first ever live-action episode of The Ambiguously Gay Duo, a cartoon short that started in 1996.
Originally voiced by Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrel, the short made sure to give parts to the original cast, as well as guest host Ed Helms and Jimmy Fallon, who played Ace’s partner (in crime) Gary.
We won’t make you wait any more for this epicness, but if you’re looking for some hardcore superhero action this summer, look no further than the special short after the jump.

Saturday marked the special Mother’s Day season finale of Saturday Night Live, with special guest host Tina Fey. Fey did a pretty solid job, considering how very pregnant she is and the fact that she didn’t even sit in to do Weekend Update (WTF?). One skit that definitely stood out in the night was a brand new song from Andy Samberg’s Lonely Island.
From the guys who brought us “Motherlover” last Mother’s Day, Samberg (alongside Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone) have added one more legendary singer to the list with Akon, T-Pain, and Justin Timberlake. That artist? The Legendary Michael Bolton.
In their newest single, The Lonely Island try to tote their coolness and how “gangsta” they are, when all Michael Bolton wants to sing about is his newest film obsession: Captain Jack Sparrow.
Check out the music video after the jump, and pick up the new song on iTunes here.
