Check Out Previews for Tonight’s ’30 Rock’, ‘Parks and Rec’ and More!

by Joe Gillis, Jan 26 2012 // 1:30 PM

It’s Thursday again so that means more new episodes of some of our favorite shows on NBC tonight. Sure, we still miss Community and hope it’s really coming back.

Until then, at least we’ve still got brand new episodes of 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation and more to help us pass the time. Not only that, we’ve got previews for all the new episodes for you right here too.

First up on 30 Rock, Liz invokes a pact she and Jenna made to each other years before. Then on Parks and Recreation, Knope 2012 goes on a bowling adventure.

Next up, it’s a second episode of 30 Rock called “The Ballad of Kenneth Parcell.” Finally, The Firm is back with a new episode. Havent had a chance to watch that one yet but I would bet the budget for a one hour drama show would have been more than enough to cover the cost of new episodes of Community.

Come on NBC, get with the program and give the viewers what they really want. We don’t mind that you made a mistake, we all do. Just correct it. . . soon.

Check out all the previews after the break.

Check This Out: Previews for Tonight’s All New ’30 Rock’, ‘Parks and Rec’ and More!

by Joe Gillis, Jan 12 2012 // 1:30 PM

With the holidays behind us and the second half of the traditional TV season in front, that mean some of our favorite shows are finally returning to the air with new episodes or premiering for the first time this season. Sadly, no new Community so far, but at least we have a few others to entertain us including 30 Rock, Parks and Rec and more.

Naturally, since these shows are returning, we’ve got previews for them to share with you today. We’ve got an early look at Season 6 of 30 Rock as we catch up with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin to see what they’ve been up to.

Heading to Pawnee, the Knope campaign is in full swing – until Ron Swanson has a little tussle with the law. And in more Parks and Recreation fun… April really doesn’t care.

Meanwhile, Dwight ventures outside of Scranton on The Office and while Andy works to bump up sales. In addition to two sneak peeks, Mindy Kaling takes us on a tour of her office.

Check out all the videos after the break. It all startsd tonight at 8/7C with 30 Rock on NBC.

2011 Primetime Emmy Nominations Announced

by Joe Gillis, Jul 14 2011 // 10:00 AM

It’s not particularly surprising that Mad Men and Mildred Pierece had the most nominations today when Melissa McCarthy and Joshua Jackson made the 2011 Primetime Emmy announcement. Jane Lynch will be hosting the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 18.

For the complete list of nominees, head over to the Emmys website. We’ve just got the ones we really care about for you here. (aka The Big Ones).

Of course, the fact that Community isn’t nominated in the Outstanding Comedy category just makes these awards that much less special. Plus, I wouldn’t want to be nominated in a category against Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones. He’s pretty much got that one in the bag

Check out the nominations below.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory
Johnny Galecki, The Big Bang Theory
Matt LeBlanc, Episodes
Louis C.K., Louie
Steve Carell, The Office
Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series

Steve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights
Hugh Laurie, House
Timothy Olyphant, Justified
Jon Hamm, Mad Men

The Flickcast – Episode 99: 99 Problems

by Joe Gillis, May 26 2011 // 7:00 AM

This week on The Flickcast Chris and Matt inch ever closer to the magical 100th episode of the show. It’s getting closer every day but until then, they still had this episode to do and do it they did.

This week’s topics include lots of new trailers including Green Lantern and The Muppets, the state of 3D movies at the Box Office, the technical glitches of some movie theater chains on the East Coast, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Torchwood: Children of Earth and much more. Sadly, they also talked about Charlie Sheen, Ashton Kutcher and Two and a Half Men . . . but only for a minute.

Of course, the boys made some picks this week including Matt’s pick of John Carpenter’s They Live and Chris’ pick of the book Bossypants by SNL and 30 Rock writer and star Tina Fey.

As always, if you have comments, questions, critiques, offers of sponsorship or whatever, feel free to hit us up in the comments, on Twitter, at Facebook and MySpace or via email.

Previews? We’ve Got ‘Em for ‘The Office’, ’30 Rock’ and More!

by Heather Toshiko, Apr 14 2011 // 1:19 PM

It’s Thursday so that must mean most eyes will be glued to NBC for their night of comedy. I know I’ll be watching.

To help get you ready, we’ve got previews for some of tonight’s shows. It all kicks off with a new episode of Community. Tonight, the Greendale gang picks their spring electives and Jeff finds something fishy about Pierce’s new friend.

Next up is the brand new Paul Reiser show featuring, well, Paul Reiser. On the season opener, Paul debates his career path, as we all do, and gets some input from a respectable guest star.

Next up is an episode of The Office where new boss Will Farrell arrives ready for action. Following that, you’re invited to a dinner party with our favorite Parks & Recreation department.

Then, Liz scrambles to find Tracy before TGS is cancelled on a new 30 Rock. Outsourced rounds out the evening when Todd uncovers a secret about one of his coworker’s parents.

Check out the previews for Paul Reiser’s show, The Office and 30 Rock after the jump. The fun starts tonight at 8/7C with Community on NBC.

Check Out Clips From Tonight’s ‘Community’, ’30 Rock’, ‘The Office’ and More!

by Chris Ullrich, Jan 20 2011 // 3:00 PM

Normally we would make some interesting comments about this or that and post something relevant to the topic at hand. This time, however, the staff is in a hurry to head out for lunchtime hot air balloon rides so this has got to be a quick one.

NBC has some great shows on Thursday night and they are all back tonight will all-new episodes. We, of course, have promos for all of them.

Community kicks off the night with guest Malcolm-Jamal Warner, followed by the Perfect Couples premiere. Then Michael’s war to win Holly’s heart continues on The Office, followed by Rob Lowe back with the cast of Parks and Rec. Finally, Liz dabbles in Jack’s marriage on 30 Rock followed by Outsourced going Bollywood. That should be interesting.

Check out all the clips where we usually put stuff like that. If you can’t figure it out now, we can’t help you. All the fun kicks off tonight at 8/7C with Community.

Review: ‘Megamind’

by Shannon Hood, Nov 5 2010 // 10:00 AM

Megamind is the latest animated 3D offering from DreamWorks Animation studios. It  is cute and  clever, but it has the disadvantage of coming out after Despicable Me, another animated film that was released earlier this year. Ultimately, that leaves Megamind feeling a bit stale and not particularly original, but it should provide for a fine family night out at the movies.

Will Ferrell is well cast as the voice of Megamind, a villain who has gone toe to toe with his nemesis “Metro Man” (voiced by Brad Pitt) for decades. They have been vying for bragging rights over Metro City, the place they both call home.

A charming opening sequence shows a flashback of  the two characters as infants, when they were sent to earth (separately) from other planets. Metro Man is embraced as a gift from the gods by his surrogate parents, and is blessed with the chiseled good looks of a movie star.  He grows up  adored and admired by all who come in contact with him.

In stark contrast, Megamind grows up misunderstood and under-appreciated in a prison, saddled with a bulbous head and blue coloring.  His only friend is a minion (David Cross) who is sent to earth with him. Megamind was not always a villain; it is only after getting beat down time after time by his peers that he embraces his inner evil. It becomes his coping mechanism of sorts.

It’s Good To Be Bad With 3 More Clips From ‘Megamind’

by Matt Raub, Oct 26 2010 // 7:00 AM

Yesterday, we brought you 3 awesomely hilarious clips from next weekend’s big animated release, Megamind, and if you didn’t think that was enough, we have 3 more for you.

We have more than enough faith in most things super hero these days, but when the film is opening against Skyline and Due Date, expect it to either blow everything out of the water, or get left behind in a race between Hangover fans and sci-fi fans.

Megamind has enough name credit behind itself to make a big enough splash, but fighting names like Robert Downey Jr. and a bunch of explosions, it may be a tough sell for November.

If you’re still teetering on which movie to spend your $10 on, check out some great new clips for the film after the jump, and be sure to make your decision by November 5th.

Check Out 3 Hilarious New Clips From ‘Megamind’

by Matt Raub, Oct 25 2010 // 10:00 AM

Feel like the superhero hasn’t gotten enough play this year? Neither have we. Sure, Iron Man 2, Kick-Ass, and countless other genre films hit theaters this year, but those were all months ago, so let’s look to the now. And there’s nothing more “now” than Dreamwork’s Megamind.

Starring an gigantic voice cast of Will Ferrell, David Cross, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, and Brad Pitt, the film takes the classic “good vs. evil” idea to a whole new place as the villain actually becomes the hero in this zany sci fi animated film.

We’ve got a bunch of new clips that we’ll be bringing you over the next week, starting with three pretty funny ones today. Be sure to check them out after the jump, and catch Megamind in theaters on November 5th.

Kelsey Grammer is a Con Man In 2 Clips From Tonight’s ’30 Rock’

by Joe Gillis, Oct 21 2010 // 10:00 AM

It’s going to be pretty hard to top 30 Rock’s feat last week of two live shows, but it looks like Tina Fey and the gang are up for the challenge, as NBC veteran Kelsey Grammer guest stars tomorrow night as, you guessed it, himself. Or, as most cameos on 30 Rock go, an exaggerated version of himself. From NBC.

Jack (Alec Baldwin) is having a perfect day and succeeding at every task. He tries to channel his winning streak into helping Liz (Tina Fey) figure out her relationship with Carol. Meanwhile, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) and Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) enlist the help of Kelsey Grammer (guest starring as himself). Elsewhere, Tracy (Tracy Morgan) is trying to shoot a commercial for the Boys and Girls Club.

Yet another crazy caper the whole TGS gang gets themselves into tonight, and you can check out two brand new clips from the episode right after the jump. Catch 30 Rock on NBC tonight at 8:30 right after Community.

Check Out The First Five Minutes of Dreamworks’ ‘Megamind’

by Matt Raub, Oct 15 2010 // 7:00 AM

Every good super hero tale needs an even better origin story. Well, the same goes for super villain tales, and that’s quite clear as the release date for Dreamworks’ twist on the classic “Good vs. Evil” battle in Megamind starring Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt.

With Madagascar director Tom McGrath taking the helm and a very impressive voice cast including Ferrell, Pitt, Tina Fey, David Cross, and Jonah Hill, there is very little stopping this film from becoming the next Incredibles, which is exactly what Dreamworks is hoping for.

Nickelodeon also has faith in the film, as they’ve released the first five minutes of the film online, which gives us an inside look at the origin of both Metro Man and Megamind. Of course there are allusions to other great comic tales, just done with that Will Ferrell style of humor.

Check out the first five minutes after the jump and catch Megamind in theaters and 3D on November 5th.

NBC Announces Fall Premiere Dates

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 16 2010 // 11:00 AM

Like Fox, NBC has announced the premiere dates for its new and returning Fall shows. Also like Fox, the network has quite a few shows  we usually watch and a few we’re looking forward to seeing once they debut.

Some of the new ones we’re looking forward to include The Event, Undercovers and even Law & Order: Los Angeles. We’re also looking forward to the return of some many great shows like Community, 30 Rock and Chuck.

With so much to offer it’s going to be hard to choose priorities on our DVR. Good thing we have at least two of them. Check out the full list of shows and their premiere dates after the break.
