This week on The Following Mark hears noises coming from Luke’s room, and finds Giselle dead in Luke’s bed. Luke is pretending that she’s alive, but it’s very obvious that Giselle is dead. Luke tells him that Hardy killed her.
Max is stitching up Hardy’s gunshot wound while Hardy calls Mike. He tells Mike that Lily has a whole family, and that he thinks they (including Joe) are nearby. Mike tells him he’s on the way, and takes off without telling anyone at the FBI. When Mike arrives by himself, he tells Hardy he thinks the FBI has been compromised, and that someone from the inside has been tipping off Joe.
Lily and Joe are still in bed, and Lily is telling Joe all about how they can take the whole family to Venezuela. She has her own plane, and a place on the beach, and it’s very tough to extradite from Venezuela. Joe tells Lily that there are always options. Lily is upset that he doesn’t want to just pick up everything and leave. One of the French girls comes in to tell Lily there is a problem.

3 Days to Kill makes a point of flashing Luc Besson’s name across the screen, even though he’s not the director. That distinction goes to McG, whose name really feels like it should inspire some kind of good joke, but if it’s out there, I haven’t heard it. Just like the Luc Besson connection is going to inspire a lot of cinephiles to tell their friends, between exasperations of pretension, that he’s the guy who directed The Fifth Element – and then they immediately follow up with a recommendation of Leon or, The Professional. And well they might, because Leon is an excellent film.
But it’s also the film that 3 Days to Kill is going to be compared to, negatively. And while Leon is a better film, 3 Days is not a bad one – or, at least, it shouldn’t be considered bad because it’s not another film.
Kevin Costner is Ethan, a semi-retired hitman, working for the U.S. Government and doing his last or next-to-last job. His task is to prevent the sale of a dirty bomb by an ominously, though accurately named terrorist called “The Albino.” The deal goes sour, and people die, but Ethan catches a glimpse of “The Albino”’s boss, “The Wolf.” Now Ethan’s alone in Paris, living in a flat that has been taken over by a sweet tribe of Parisian homeless. He can’t evict them because of Paris law. And Ethan is sick.

Joe and Mandy are watching a house from their car. The woman finds her young son missing and panics. She sees a man outside and goes to confront. Joe says hi to her, and she is happy to see him. Her name is Jenna, and she is a member of Joe’s cult.
Hardy thinks that all of the new cult activity is to lure Joe out of hiding. Max is skeptical that Joe is alive, but is willing to listen if Hardy can find some proof. Hardy doesn’t want her jeopardizing her job to help him, but she is stubborn too and says she is helping him whether he likes it or not.
Weston has found some information on Lily Gray. Her parents died when she was young, and she was adopted by a wealthy man. He died, and left all his money to her. Lily is worth 1.4 billion dollars. The twins are boys she adopted after their mother died giving birth. Lily’s business partner, David Roland, is out of the hospital but is refusing to speak to authorities. The FBI doesn’t know if he’s involved or in danger.

In this week’s episode of The Following, Joe is living in Arkansas under an assumed identity. The only ones who know who he really is are his girlfriend Judy and her daughter Mandy. Joe’s new name is Daryl, and everyone thinks he is Judy’s brother, which is kind of mind boggling considering she is a prostitute and he just sits outside on a bench while she conducts her business.
Judy questions him about the cult subway murders, but he claims to know nothing about it. She tells him that they have a good thing going and she doesn’t want it ruined. They hug, and Joe has a certain “I’m a lying jackhole” look on his face.
Hardy is using his shamelessly promoted tablet and major name search engine to look up Lily Gray, the survivor of the subway attacks. He finds that she is an art dealer and goes to see her. He asks her a bunch of questions that the FBI already asked her, and she admits to him that she looked him up online. I’m surprised they aren’t already in bed together.
So what I totally missed last week was that the girl the twins killed was not a totally random aside. They had posed her dead body on a bench for the cops to find. That went way over my head. This week, Weston and Mendez determine that she was posed to reflect a certain passage in Joe Carroll’s book Gothic Sea.

Kevin Costner is one of those actors you like to watch no matetr what movie he happens to be in. Sure, he doesn’t always make the best choices and some of his movies bomb, but that doesn’t seem to make him any less interesting or appealing.
His next one is called 3 Days to Kill and we’ve got a trailer for the movie for you today. In the movie: “a dangerous international spy (Costner) is determined to give up his high stakes life to finally build a closer relationship with his estranged wife and daughter, whom he’s previously kept at arm’s length to keep out of danger.”
Yes, there’s a catch. “First he must complete one last mission- even if it means juggling the two toughest assignments yet: hunting down the world’s most ruthless terrorist and looking after his teenage daughter for the first time in ten years, while his wife is out of town.”
Man, we know how that can be. Look for 3 Days to Kill, which in addition to Costner stars Amber Heard, Connie Nielsen and Hailee Steinfeld, to arrive in 2014. Check out the trailer after the break.

If you recall, Starz was so excited and confident about their series Boss that they ended up giving it a second season before it even premiered. We’re not exactly sure how well that first season did in the ratings, but we enjoyed the show and Kelsey Grammer’s performance and that of a certain Mayor’s aide.
Now, with a second season just around the corner, Starz has released a trailer for it and we, of course, have it for you today. In it, we get reacquainted with Grammer’s powerful and immensely flawed character Mayor Tom Kane and the rest of the players who will make up season two.
Take a look at the trailer after the break. Boss returns to Starz on August 17.

It seems HBO isn’t alone in the giving series a second season before they hardly run their first department. In fact, Starz has even done them one better.
The network has officially given the Kelsey Grammer government corruption drama Boss a second season of ten episodes. That’s great news for the show but what makes it even more remarkable is the fact that the show hasn’t even premiered on the network yet.
Don’t be too shocked, though. This move isn’t ompletely without precedent for Starz. The network did the same thing with Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
In case you’re not familiar with Boss (and no reason you should be as you can’t actually see it yet) it was created by writer Farhad Safinia and features Gus Van Sant making his TV directing debut. Grammer plays a ruthless Chicago mayor who has a secret that threatens to destroy him. Don’t they all.
Also in the show are Connie Nielsen, Jeff Hephner, Hannah Ware, Kathleen Robertson and Troy Garity. Production on Season 2 is reportedly set to begin in early 2012.
Look for the first season of Boss to debut on Starz on October 21.
