Move over, Wii. You’re no longer the only motion-controlled gaming system in town. While Playstation 3’s Sixaxis controller had some motion-sensing capabilities, it wasn’t much to write home about. But yesterday, at Sony’s GDC press conference, the company officially revealed their new motion-controller, simply called “The Move.”
Looking curiously similar to the Wii-mote, the Move will feature True 3D rotation, buttons similar to the regular Sixaxis, and an analog trigger. The Move also has rechargeable batteries, and plugs into the same USB port as the Sixaxis. The device seems to have two controllers, like the Wii-mote and nunchuck combination seen on the Wii.
The difference is that the Move’s two devices are connected wirelessly. The Move is said to be far more sensitive and responsive than its predecessor, because it uses the Playstation Eye to detect movement as opposed to a sensor bar like the Wii.
Games like LittleBigPlanet and EyeToy were demoed with the Move, and third party publishers like Square Enix, Konami, EA, Ubi, Disney, Sega, WBI, Crave, and Activision are all behind this new technology. It also looks like the Playstation 3 will start getting ports of games originally slated for the Wii, the first one being The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest.
The Move will be released on its own, bundled with the Playstation Eye, and in a Playstation 3 bundle. No idea how much the controller will cost on its own, but bundled with the Eye it’ll set you back about $99. You’ll be able to get your hands on the Move this fall.

Dead Space came out in late 2008 to both critical adulation and strong sales. There was no doubt a sequel would be in the works for this third person horror shooter. But how do you keep a story going where the player is the sole survivor of his infested ship?
Nintendo Wii took the path of a on-rail shooter prequel Dead Space: Extraction. Though a critical darling, sales were dismal. Now, Dead Space 2 readies itself for store shelves with the next chapter of Issac Clark’s survival. As with most sequels, Issac is expected to encounter a host of new baddies.
EA has taken an interesting path in revealing these new “necromorphs.” For more than a week, a zoomed in image has slowly been revealed over the game’s Facebook page. Now, finally fully revealed, we have been given a glimpse at a delightful fellow named “the puker”.
Possibly a lovechild of an original Dead Space necromorph and the Boomer from Left 4 Dead, the Puker already looks like a villain we are not looking forward to running into in the cramped hallways of a barge floating through space. But as long as he doesn’t send the Horde after us, we think we will be able to manage. T
ake a look after the break and let us know what you think. Dead Space 2 is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2011.

Since video games came into being, setting records or being the first to hit a huge accomplishment has driven repeated plays of even the simplest titles. From the high score on Galaga to reaching the kill screen in Donkey Kong, gamers set goals for themselves no matter how time consuming to achieve.
Just like a real game of baseball, gamers have been given the goal in Major League Baseball 2K10 to pitch a perfect game. Not out of the realm of possibilities but certainly not easy to come by. To reward the first individual to throw a perfect game, 2K Games is offering a $1,000,000 prize.
On sale today, the first player to hit a verified perfect game on either the XBox 360 or PlayStation 3 will be eligible for this prize. Also on sale for the Wii, Nintendo DS, PC, PSP and PlayStation 2, the two higher end systems were probably decided on because of their constant internet connectivity and tracking abilities (despite PlayStation 3’s rough week so far).
The feat must be accomplished in the game’s MLB Today mode and the player must select the “Major League Baseball 2K10 contest” . Ending May 1st, players are given two full months to video record the successful completion of a perfect game in which no opposing player reaches a base for any reason.

Fans of Just Cause will be pleased to find out that they will get a sneak peek of the sequel which is set to release on March 26th. Just Cause 2, which featured one of the most creative interactive trailers, will have a demo available for the PC, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Thursday, March 4th.
Just Cause 2’s demo looks to set itself out from the crowd with a massive 35 square mile area of the game’s 400 square mile locale. Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square Enix’s London Studios said that “The Just Cause 2 demo is simply massive and with so much to do, the replay value is enormous… It’s easily one of the biggest freeroaming demos of all time and for fans of openworld games, it’s unmissable.”
From the looks of things, Square Enix and Eidos don’t believe in the “less is more” mentality and want to show everyone just what they have to offer. As seen in the trailer, Just Cause 2’s demo will allow players near limitless combinations of ways to tackle situations at hand or just provide a pure freeroaming balls to the wall action experience.

2010 has already proven itself to be a big year for games and only two months have gone by so far. From the look of things, March doesn’t seem like it is going to slow down either.
Cross platform heavyweights Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Final Fantasy XIII start off the month strong while Mega Man 10 finds itself sprinkled through the month on the various consoles. Closing out the month on the cross platform titles is Just Cause 2.
Likely the biggest individual release will come from the PlayStation 3 with God of War III. After being the inevitable comparison for Dante’s Inferno, Kratos comes out on March 16th ready to take no prisoners. The PlayStation 2’s lifecycle finally looks to be coming to an end as it only has one release this month.
Take a look below at every game coming out for the month of March.

Originally, Lost Planet 2 preorders from Gamestop were going to allow players exclusive access to the Resident Evil 5 Albert Wesker skin and Magnum Revolver weapon during the game. Due to popular demand, Capcom has changed this and made the skin and Revolver available to everyone who purchases the game.
Now the question will be if they are available from the start or if they will be unlockables. As a result, Gamestop now offers two exclusive multiplayer maps. Available for the game’s 16 player online multiplayer, Helix and Back to the Island will be downloadable for those who preorder.
Helix
The underwater NEVEC mining facility houses several layers and twisted corridors. Swim between the layers, or dive to the bottom to change your point of attack. Aqua Catapults can launch you to the upper levels in a hurry, and you must learn every corner and get the upper hand on your enemies.
Back to the Island
The shady atoll of Island 902 is broken into wide open spaces and compact interiors. Choose your battlefield from the beaches to the battered carrier, or explore a new dimension in the underwater battle. Control the bridge to dominate the map, but beware attacks from all sides.

We were pleased to give everyone a first glance at UFC 2010 earlier this month with the announcement of the game’s cover athlete, Brock Lesnar. Today, a new set of screens for the game was released that look to set the bar even higher than last year’s iteration.
The level of detail in the character models is amazing from the lines of sweat running down their bodies to the hair on their arms. Take a look below at the screens and try to tell us you aren’t excited to see what UFC Undisputed 2010 has to offer.
In somewhat related UFC news, former champion Frank Mir recently came under fire for a statement he made about Lesnar to the media. Mir was quoted as saying to WXDX-FM that he wanted Brock Lesnar, ”
UFC President Dana White said he was terribly disappointed in Mir, stating that, “Frank’s been with the UFC a long time, he’s a two-time heavyweight champion and a commentator for the WEC. I think his emotions are running high right now, he has a big fight coming up next month and he’s still upset about his loss to Lesnar. He’s been talked to, he regrets what he said, and he won’t be saying anything like that again.”

Back in November, lots of PlayStation 3 owners got to enjoy the classic games God of War and God of War 2 once again, this time with a new upscaled look to accommodate their fancy HDTVs. With that, a reinstated excitement for the upcoming third installment of the game was found.
The games follow Kratos, a Spartan soldier who makes a deal with Ares in order to slay his enemies. That deal immediately turns sour as he becomes the God of War’s right-hand man, killing thousands. Kratos inadvertantly kills his family in the process and vows to take down Ares. From there, the following games become incredibly deep, with plenty of references to all things Greek Mythology.
The newest game involves Kratos waging war against the gods of Olympus, with the titans on his side. The game hits stores on March 16th, and the newest trailer gives us just that much more to get excited about.
Check out the trailer for God of War III after the jump, and keep it here for updates and more for the upcoming title.

Numbers of console and games sales were released by the NPD group for the month of January 2010 today with some not so surprising results. The Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS (including the DSi SKU’s) lead the console war as they continue to dominate this generation in terms of sales. Even after their record setting Wii sales in December, the little white box with waggle controls still is flying off shelves. With that comes five of the top games being Wii titles.
The griefer’s paradise New Super Mario Bros Wii tops their charts, follwed by evergreen favorite Wii titles like Wii Fitt Plus, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports Resort. The only surprise on the Wii comes from the critically panned Just Dance from Ubisoft (averaging a score of 47 from Metacritic).
XBox 360 surged back in front of the PlayStation 3, no doubt with some help of their over half a million selling release of Mass Effect 2. The XBox 360’s version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 also outsold the PS3 version by a firm 65,000 units. Co-op shooter Army of Two: The 40th Day debutted on the charts in the number 8 spot, followed by the apocalyptic release of Darksiders, both the games being the XBox 360 versions.

After just over a year since the announcement of Dead Rising, Capcom announced at X10 that Dead Rising 2 would be coming to North America for the XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on August 31st. In addition, the game will hit Japanese shelves on September 2nd and Europe on September 3rd.
In addition, XBox 360 owners will receive an exclusive downloadable prologue to the game entitled Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO. CASE ZERO will give players an introduction to the series new front man Chuck Green and help bridge the gap between the events of Frank West and the outbreak of Willamette, CO in Dead Rising to Dead Rising 2’s Fortune City setting.
In addition, Capcom revealed at X10 a new mechanic to Dead Rising’s gameplay where players would be able to combine a variety of weapons together to create even more fearsome combinations. It looks like the chainsaw motorcycle we saw a few months ago was just a hint of what is to come with these deadly weapons combos.
Dead Rising 2 looks to prove that the most important item on the planet is duct tape as it can be used to attach knives to boxing gloves, gas canisters to water guns and garden rakes to car batteries in an effort to eviscerate and mutilate in very creative ways, while still trying to stay alive at the same time.
Click through to take a look at some newly released screens and video from Dead Rising 2.
