Fans of The 100, if you thought this season was going to pull back from the insanity, think again. At WonderCon 2016 all the cast and creator Jason Rothenberg could talk about was what is still in store for the Grounders and the Skykru as a new enemy emerges.
Speaking during interviews at WonderCon, Rothenberg jumped right in to discuss how Lexa’s controversial death will play out through the end of the season. The key is the chip that was taken out of her. “Everyone is going to be after this chip,” he said. “It’s going to drive this story into a very intense direction.”
This is going to link up with season three’s major underlying story, the introduction of the AI known as ALIE. Raven has a personal score to settle with the AI. Earlier this season Raven, still suffering with pain from her leg injury, learned the AI was taking all of her happy memories.
Speaking about her character, Lindsey Morgan said, “Because she had to learn to be strong, she will always be strong…It’s going to be very interesting coming up, I’m very excited to see that.” She also teased the “fight of the century” between Raven and ALIE.

Premiering at WonderCon 2016, Justice League vs. Teen Titans brings the young team of heroes back to life with renewed energy and focus in one of DC Entertainment’s best animated films to date.
After Damien Wayne/Robin’s aggression nearly threatens a Justice League mission, he is sent to train with the Teen Titans. He’s hardly arrived when Raven’s (Taissa Farmiga) satanic father, Trigon (Jon Bernthal), plots an escape from his inter-dimensional prison. To aid in his escape, Trigon’s demons possess members of the Justice League. The Teen Titans are left with the impossible task of defeating the JLA and saving the planet.
“Teen Titans is like The Breakfast Club or Degrassi High,” said producer James Tucker.
With all of the emotions and tempers of teenagers heaped on top of having various powers and abilities, the Titans might as well be an angsty teen drama. Damien (Stuart Allan) doesn’t help matters. Still stubborn and arrogant, he’s certain he’s too good for the team.

LEGO® DIMENSIONS™_20150703082142
Have you ever been playing Portal and wondered how The Doctor would do in Aperture Science? Thanks to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment now you can find out. LEGO Dimensions announced at San Diego Comic-Con the upcoming inclusion of Doctor Who. It is the first time Doctor Who has ever been in a LEGO videogame.
The stars of the BBC America show have lent their voices to their respective characters in the game as well. Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Michelle Gomez have all brought their Doctor Who personas to LEGO life in Dimensions. The game is truly a mash-up of worlds. The TARDIS could pop up in Gotham City or The Doctor could ride along with Scooby and Shaggy.
As is seen in the trailer, all twelve doctors are included in Dimensions. In fact, LEGO has pulled out all the stops to please Whovians. When the Twelfth Doctor is defeated in a level, he returns as the First Doctor and then continues regenerating back up to Twelve. The TARDIS interior changes depending on which Doctor is “alive” but can also be manually chosen by the player. A jukebox inside the TARDIS allows players to select different versions of the Doctor Who theme music.

To celebrate the home entertainment release of the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut Blu-ray on July 14th, fans at San Diego Comic-Con were treated to a special advance screening of the extended version of the film. Shown on four screens simultaneously at the Reading Cinema in downtown San Diego on Saturday, July 11, the Rogue Cut features an extra 17 minutes of footage including bringing Anna Paquin’s Rogue into the film’s main plot.
The additional scenes add some more humor and action to the film. It’s important to note that although the Rogue storyline accounts for probably 50% of the extra footage, the other 50% is equally as golden. Highlights of the later portions include some very funny bantering between Quicksilver and Magneto and a romantic scene between Beast and Mystique. Several fans at the SDCC screening pointed out they had already seen these portions online as deleted scenes.
As for the Rogue bits, they fit and strangely enough they seem essential to the plot. Sadly, since we’ve all seen how the film carries on without, they end up feeling more superfluous than they were intended to be. That said, that Bryan Singer was able to take Rogue out and still make Days of Future Past work and work well is commendable. It couldn’t have been easy to re-work scenes, dialogue, and climatic moments all to remove one character.

The Vikings season 4 trailer has landed and it points towards another season of blood, betrayal, and brothers. But could we also see the return of the god Odin? The trailer for the upcoming season first premiered at San Diego Comic Con during the show’s panel featuring stars Travis Fimmel (Ragnar), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha), Clive Standen (Rollo) and Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn) along with Michael Hirst (writer/creator) and Dirk Hoogstra (EVP & General Manager, HISTORY).
Vikings left their mark once again on San Diego with interactive experiences for fans and newcomers alike. In the Exhibit Hall, the show’s Bludgeon Booth gave fans costumes and props to create their own battle, which was then filmed in slow motion. Special effect blood splatter was then added and the 15 second clips were added into battle scenes from the show for fans to share. Out in the Gaslamp District those who accepted a complimentary ride on the Vikings long ship were given a drinking horn that granted them access to drink special at select venues in Gaslamp during the SDCC weekend.
Though it is History’s only scripted drama, Vikings continues to pull in strong ratings and rabid viewers. A fourth season, which will air in 2106, was announced five episodes into the third-season run.
Check out the trailer after the break.

Fans who grew up with Batman: The Animated Series as their go-to cartoon superhero show have undoubtedly noticed the darker, more violent trend in those same cartoons now. I don’t think this is bad or even unwanted, as you can tell from my review of this month’s Batman vs. Robin. But a return to a more traditional, 90s feel is certainly welcome. That’s what we get in Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts.
The story brings together classic Batman foes and heroes to uncover the plot behind Penguin’s new invention of Cyber Animals. The robotic creatures keep popping up during strange crimes committed by the Animilitia, a squad of animal-inspired villains that includes Silverback, Cheetah, Killer Croc and Man-Bat. Luckily, Batman has his own squad to call on and Flash, Green Arrow, Nightwing and Red Robin answer.
Animal Instincts comes straight out of DC Entertainment’s desire to create a Batman animated film for younger kids. That sentiment registered strongly with screenwriter Heath Corson who “wanted to capture that fun of Silver Age Justice League comics.” He’s definitely done that here. Humor is used to great effect and is mixed effortlessly with both hand-to-hand and high speed action scenes. Fight sequences are often one-on-one giving each hero and villain a chance in the spotlight.

As is quickly becoming a tradition, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation unveiled a new Batman movie at a world premiere event at WonderCon on April 3. Inspired by best-selling graphic novel, Batman: Court of Owls, Batman vs. Robin is an excellent addition to the ever expanding universe of DC’s original movies.
Picking up on three months after Son of Batman left off, Batman vs. Robin showcases the still tenuous relationship between Bruce and Damian Wayne as they each try to better fit into their respective roles as father and son. Being crime fighting partners is both a help and a hindrance to their relationship, especially when it seems like Batman can’t rely on Robin to put aside his League of Assassins tendencies. The duo are to the test when Talon, the enforcer for The Court of Owls, tries to lure Damian in as his new protégé while Gotham’s secret society also enacts a plan that could destroy the city.
The film boasts a strong voice cast, including the return of Jason O’Mara (Batman), Stuart Allan (Robin), and Sean Maher (Nightwing). Allan once again brings the perfect amount of petulance to Damian and Batman vs. Robin goes the distance to remind us Damian isn’t a child the way the previous Robins, including Dick Grayson, were.
He was born and raised with assassins. Nightwing even remarks to Batman about Damian, saying, “He’s just a 10-year-old boy.” But Batman gently corrects him. “No. He just looks like one.” The film drives this message home so well it doesn’t seem as impossible for a kid to face off with full grown adults, even Batman, and hold his own or come out ahead.

Stars and the executive producers from TNT’s The Last Ship treated fans to an exclusive new trailer at WonderCon this weekend and unveiled key art for the upcoming second season. The show was basic cable’s #1 new series last year and TNT is hoping for a strong repeat with the new season as well.
Based on William Brinkley’s novel, The Last Ship chronicles the aftermath of a global catastrophe that nearly wipes out the world’s population. Captain Tom Chandler’s (Eric Dane) Navy destroyer was able to avoid the disaster, potentially making Chandler and his crew among the last humans on earth. In its first season, the show reached an average of 14.5 million viewers across all platforms.
At WonderCon, cast members Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin, Travis Van Winkle, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, John Pyper Ferguson, and Jocko Sims filled out the panel with executive producers and showrunners Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane and fellow EP, Jack Bender.
The Last Ship will begin its second season on Sunday, June 21, with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)

On Thursday, February 19, Vikings returns to the History Channel for a third season and it’s going to be a whopper. Until then, here’s a bit of info to help get you ready.
While awaiting the land he’s been promised by the English, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), the “farmer who made himself a king,” turns his warriors towards the supposedly impenetrable city of Paris. Ever a warmonger, the new King can’t resist sieging the city and proving the strength and legend of his Norsemen. Family continues to play an important role for Ragnar, with his son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) searching for his own place, his brother Rollo (Clive Standen) firmly at his side, and his former wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) now allied with him too.
Four new characters will join History’s hit scripted drama this season. Harbard (Kevin Durand), whose arrival has been dreamt of by Queen Aslaug, Siggy, and Helga, will turn up suddenly and have a profound effect on the three women. Kalf (Ben Robson) is Lagertha’s ambitious and perhaps duplicitous second in command. Emperor Charles of France (Lothaire Bluteau) will face off with the Vikings though he views the battle as spiritual, and his daughter, Princess Gisla (Morgana Polanski), may possess more courage and resolve than even he.
If you’re looking to catch up or just get a refresher, seasons one and two of Vikings are available on Amazon and Hulu. Check out the extended trailer for the new season after the break.

The year of the Twelfth Doctor has also been the year of incredible ratings for BBC America. Doctor Who finished 2014 with its highest rated season ever including over 2.3 million viewers on Christmas Day for the special “Last Christmas” episode.
Peter Capaldi debuted as the newest regeneration of the beloved Time Lord alongside returning companion Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald. Together the duo brought in an average 2.035 million viewers in Live+3, meaning those ratings also include DVR views. Capaldi’s first Christmas Special more than doubled the viewership of his predecessor’s first such episode, “A Christmas Carol,” in 2010. The Twelfth Doctor’s “Last Christmas” was the #1 show in all of Primetime television, excluding sports.
Series 8 added fresh new twists and turns to the Doctor Who mythos including a reappearance by The Master, but not as we’ve ever seen him before. Michelle Gomez starred as Missy, a female regeneration of the Doctor’s old frenemy . Samuel Anderson also had a touching and integral turn as Clara’s boyfriend Danny Pink.
“Last Christmas” will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on February 17. Doctor Who will return for another full season in 2015.

At the end of season two of Vikings, Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) took the title King of the Danes by force when he and those loyal to him defeated King Horik. Now Ragnar is set on conquering England and even France as the HISTORY series continues to serve up epic battle scenes for viewers.
In one of the most shocking announcements at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, the cast revealed a major character would die this season. They were quiet as to who would get the axe (literally, most likely) but teased a major battle in Paris. Season 3 is bringing Alexander Ludwig’s Bjorn Ironside into the battle even more as he joins his father and uncle, Rollo (Clive Standen), in claiming new lands. Ragnar and his brother are finally moving forward together after nursing a strained relationship for much of the last season.
Click through for more, including a sneak peak at season 3. After the break.

If you’ve ever wanted to soar over Gotham like the Dark Knight, San Diego Comic-Con 2014 is making that dream come true. CW’s new series Gotham is inviting fans to take a ride down the zip line as the city’s skies fly past.
San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer kicked off the annual convention by taking the inaugural ride on the zip line. Fans flocked to follow after him because everyone secretly wants to be Batman. Almost more impressive than the zip line itself is the enormous outline of Gotham city, which perfectly erases all traces of sunny San Diego as you go zipping past.
If you’re down in San Diego, experience the zip line for yourself. It’s open Thursday through Sunday 10 am – 6 pm and is located between the Convention Center and the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.
Check out the zip line in action after the break.
