What can you say about The Hangover “franchise” that hasn’t already been said? Sure, it features an odd cast that for some reason clicks together very well, an absurd premise that for some reason works very well and many other elements that, on paper, should have probably made the first movie a flop — or at the very least relegated to DVD.
Well, as you know, that didn’t happen. In fact, the first one was a monster hit that spawned a sequel and made household names of its stars. And now, we’re in for the final chapter of the franchise: The Hangover Part 3.
The first full trailer has dropped today for the movie and it’s pretty much what you would expect. Although, that may have a lot to do with the fact that with this trailer, the marketing department is trying to give you more of the same to help you remember why you loved these movies in the first place. Expect some different trailers and such later on.
Meantime, check out this new one after the break. Look for The Hangover Part 3 to hit theaters on May 24th.

The first Hangover film was fantastic, really nailing a raunchy, adult comedy in a stylish way that has rarely been seen since the 80s. The second film was basically an overseas beat for beat remake of the original. A photocopy of the first, which still meant it was funny, but some luster had worn off.
Despite that the sequel made a ton of monies at the Box Office, so you knew a third would be on its way. According to Life & Style we finally have a crazy location for the wolf-pack to get lost in:
An industry insider reveals to Life & Style the top-secret filming locations. “A lot of it will be shot in Los Angeles, but then they are going to do the crazy scenes in Las Vegas again and then one wild week in Tijuana,” the source tells Life & Style. Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms are all set to reprise their roles.
Word has been percolating for quite some time that the third Hangover was going to have a bit of a different structure than the first too. This news actually leads a little credence to that as it seems the boys will have adventures all over Vegas, Southern California and even dipping down into Mexico.
The Flickcast will keep our ears out for any new updates on this big budget comedy sequel.

Roger Ebert once wrote of Fellini’s La Dolce Vita that when he first saw it as a young man, he wanted to be Mastroianni in the film, living it up at parties, drinking exotic booze, and traipsing with potent women. Years later, he felt pity for the empty, carefree life of the character Rubini – that’s the right mindset for something like Project X.
It’s certainly not as great a film, but I imagine the idiot kids going in will identify with the three characters Thomas, Costa, and J.B., even envy them, in a similar manner, while fogeys such as myself will see them for the mongoloid no-good-niks that they are.
The movie doesn’t take a position, or even focus on the kids that much. They’re simply the vessels that wade through escalating nonsense. The party itself is the real protagonist, and director Nima Nourizadeh just wants to see how far it can go, to the point where if they didn’t stuff that midget into the oven, it’d be a tragic loss.

With The Hangover Part II making upwards of $350 million worldwide, Todd Phillips and his Wolfpack aren’t even going to have the time to spend any of that money, because there is already a plan for Warner Bros. to crank out yet another Hangover film.
Phillips has expressed interest in closing out the trilogy with a big film, but it looks like star Zach Galifiniakis may have spoiled the plot for the film in a recent interview with Rolling Stone:
“I’m terrible about people wanting to take pictures with me,” Galifianakis says. “I’m a giant baby about it. They treat you like a cartoon. There’s nothing you can do except make light of it. That’s if I’m in the mood. Sometimes I get superbummed.”

There were plenty of predictions from analysts that Hangover Part 2 would do well over the 3 day weekend, but with film breaking over $200 million worldwide, you had better believe Warner Bros. is jumping on the train to get a third film up and running as quick as possible.
Worldwide box office success is a sure way to lock in a sequel to any film, but Phillips and his Wolf Pack were actually playing with the idea of making The Hangover a trilogy way before this sequel hit theaters. From THR.
Talk of a third move surfaced several weeks ago when Part II was tracking off the charts. Part II was famously put into development two months before the first movie came out when Warners hired Phillips and Scot Armstrong to write the script. The studio was high on the strong test scores and in an unusual move, especially on something not based on a comic book or brand, hired the writing of the sequel in April before the movie’s release in May.
Craig Mazin, who co-wrote the Bangkok-set sequel, is in early talks to come back to write the new script for whose story details are being kept secret.
You can assume that Cooper, Helms, Galifiniakis, and possibly Ken Jeong will be back for the third installment. The question then becomes: where do you go when you’ve already done Vegas and Bangkok? Our vote is for the Moon.

You know an idea is a goldmine when you can take the almost the exact premise and reuse it several times over countless sequels. Look at franchises like Saw, Fast & The Furious and Mission: Impossible. All changed slightly but used over and over and with each franchise having been very successful.
That’s exactly what is happening with Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips’ Hangover film. A great story about 3 guys backtracking a crazy night in Las Vegas has now turned into 3 guys backtracking a crazy night in Bangkok.
Sure, a few things have changed, like a tattoo instead of missing teeth, and a monkey instead of a tiger, but we are getting to the exact same place. With that, we bring you the first full-length trailer for The Hangover: Part 2.
Check it out after the jump, and catch the flick in theaters on May 26th.

And we use “teaser” in a very literal sense. We know that The Wolfpack are making their way to Thailand this time around, and that Mel Gibson got bumped from his cameo, but we haven’t seen much in a way of actual footage from the film. At least now we’re getting a little tease.
This new one has just enough to whet our appetites, while still showing some interesting hints as to where the story could be going. Zach Galifiniakis has a shaved head? Ed Helms has a tribal tattoo on his face? Here’s the official synopsis (like it matters really):
In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch.
However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.
It’s not much, but it’s something so check out the teaser after the jump. Catch The Hangover: Part 2 in theaters on May 26th.

Due Date is a film that aspires towards being a feel good comedy about two men who go on a quest and through one another ultimately learn about who they are. Todd Phillips’ follow-up to the wildly successful film, The Hangover, however, ends up being no more than a lackluster retelling of better films with a smattering of decent jokes and a deficiency of chemistry between the leads throughout. Its protagonist is Peter Highman, (Robert Downey, Jr.) a businessman on a deadline. He is attempting to reach his wife in Los Angeles before the birth of their first child.
I assume that everything that we need to know about him can be summed up from the fact that he wears a Bluetooth. Obviously, he is one of those guys. Initially traveling home appears to be a simplistic task until he is introduced to Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakas), an aspiring actor with a heart of gold and a brain equally as dense.
Once these two make eye contact, it becomes apparent that Ethan is ultimately Peter’s nemesis and the promise of comedy is made. The promise is made, however, not necessarily kept.
Through a series of coincidental events both Peter and Ethan find themselves on the “No Fly” list and if this wasn’t challenging enough, Peter‘s wallet is not in his possession. Due to this fact, Peter reluctantly teams with Ethan to drive across the country and the premise of the film is in place.

I don’t think I’m alone here when I say I love Zack Galifianakis. He’s amazingly funny and also has a certain vulnerability you can respect and that also makes him so believable in any role he plays. He pretty much stole the show in The Hangover and is knocking them dead on HBO’s Bored to Death. Now, he’s in a new movie called Due Date and we’ve got a trailer for that film to share with you today.
We started talking about this movie last year when news of it first surfaced. In the Todd Phillips directed film, Galifianakis plays opposite another superb actor we all love, Robert Downey, Jr., in the story of fatherhood as an expectant dad and his unlikely travel companion (Galifianakis) race cross-country in hopes of making it home for the birth of his first child. I know what you’re thinking. Based on The Hangover Galifianakis + baby = Comedy Gold. Let’s hope history repeats itself.
In addition to Downey, Jr. and Galifianakis, the film also features Juliette Lewis, Michele Monaghan, Jamie Foxx and Alan Arkin. It hits theaters on November 5th. In the meantime, check out the trailer after the jump.

For just about all of 2008, Danny McBride ended up being the most ubiquitous screen comedian out there based on his cameos in Fanboys, Drillbit Taylor, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder and more. Things got a little more quiet in 2009, as he had a starring role in Land of the Lost and the original HBO series Eastbound and Down. Now it looks like things may be picking back up for the foul-mouthed actor.
According to Pajiba.com, the story of his latest comedy is basically set up to be “What if Kenny Powers was in Wedding Crashers?”:
The project is The Chadster, which at one time had The Hangover’s Todd Phillips attached to both produce and direct. Phillips has fallen off as director, but he’s still producing the comedy, which is moving ahead with Eastbound co-writer Shawn Harwell as scribe.
The studio wedding comedy, set up at Warner Brothers and produced by Phillips’ Green Hat Films, is about a best man who has his position threatened when an eccentric, long-lost childhood friend shows up at the wedding and causes trouble.
With this news coming in, a second season of Eastbound & Down on the way, McBride starring in an adaptation of the comic book Hench, and the actor popping up in another 5 films over the next year, it seems 2010 will be a repeat of 2008 for Danny McBride.
