Robert Kirkman Sued By Tony Moore Over ‘Walking Dead’ Profits

by Sebastian Suchecki, Feb 10 2012 // 8:30 AM

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is facing a lawsuit from Michael Anthony “Tony” Moore, who is alleging he is co-creator of The Walking Dead comic on which the hit AMC series is based. Moore, who was once partners with Robert Kirkman, is accusing Kirkman of promissory fraud, breach of written contract and other charges.

Moore claims that he was talked into assigning all his rights on Walking Dead and other properties to a limited liability corporation controlled by Kirkman. Kirkman allegedly hasn’t shared any royalties or offered any other payments for Walking Dead or any of the other works.

According to the suit, Moore alleges he and Kirkman entered into an agreement which assigned Moore 60% of comic publishing net proceeds for The Walking Dead and another title Brit, 20% of all motion picture net proceeds for Walking Dead and Brit and 50% of all motion picture net proceeds in connection with another title Battle Pope. Moore says in the suit he was reluctant to enter into the agreement.

The Church, The Farm, & More Zombies in a Trailer for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 2

by Matt Raub, Sep 30 2011 // 7:00 AM

Last October, the world was rocked when a comic book adaptation about zombies in Georgia made its way to the home of Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Now, we can’t wait for October 16th, as the second season returns with a vengeance.

Fans of both the original comic, heavy drama, and zombies in general will get more than they can chew on when the show returns in a few weeks. Fans of the original will get appearances to the church and the farm, which many know, are pretty big parts of the story from the comic.

We’re also told that this season will bring us ten times more zombie killing, which is more than enough for 90% of the fanbase to return.

Take a look at the brand new, extended trailer after the jump and be sure to get your couch and popcorn ready on October 16th, as The Walking Dead returns with a full 90-minute season premiere.

AMC Gives More ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Two Details

by Joe Gillis, Sep 1 2011 // 12:00 PM

The zombies are back! Well, almost. You still gotta wait until October. But fear not friends and zombie lovers, we’ve got an actual premiere date, and more about the schedule, for The Walking Dead.

The thirteen episode season two will premiere on October 18th at 9PM ET and kick off with full 90 minutes of zombie killing fun. Then, six one hour episodes will follow.

After a break for the holidays (which I think is stupid, by the way) the show will return for the final six episodes on Sunday, February 12th at 9PM ET. Here’s a bit more from the official AMC press release:

The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (“Love Actually,” “Teachers,” “Strike Back”), who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. Jon Bernthal (“The Pacific,” “The Ghost Writer”) plays Shane Walsh, Rick’s sheriff’s department partner before the apocalypse, and Sarah Wayne Callies (“Prison Break”), is Rick’s wife, Lori Grimes.

Additional cast include: Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Chandler Riggs, Iron E. Singleton and Melissa McBride. Recently announced guest stars include: Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson and Pruitt Taylor Vince.

Oh, there’s also something about a new reality series from Kevin Smith that takes place in a comic book store. But really, who cares about that. We’ve got zombies!

More Photos From ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 2 Released

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 21 2011 // 5:00 PM

Zombies are awesome. Be they in movies, comics, novels, video games or TV shows, we just can’t get enough of those undead sons of bitches. Obviously, that means AMC’s The Waking Dead is one of our favorite shows, especially because of the zombies but also because it’s a damn fine program.

With AMC’s panel at Comic-Con set for tomorrow, it makes sense that the network is releasing some brand new images from the second season of the series to get fans even more excited. In fact, we’ve got 9 new ones for your viewing enjoinment.

OF the images we see the usually suspects in the usual kind of danger but we also see that time and constant threat of being eaten has taken a bit of a tole on our characters. They just seem a bit more haggard this time around.

Although, if you were constantly under the threat of being eaten alive you might look a bit haggard too. Think about it.

The only other question we have is when is Rick going to finally ditch the uniform? There’s not more society dude and you’re not a deputy anymore. Just let it go. . .

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October. Check out the rest of the photos after the jump.

New ‘Walking Dead’ Season 2 Teaser Arrives

by Chris Ullrich, Jul 18 2011 // 7:00 AM

One show that we’re pretty much universally in love with around The Flickcast offices is AMC’s The Walking Dead. After a hugely successful first season on the network, Frank Darabont’s adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comic series promises to be even bigger and better when season two arrives.

Previously, we’ve had some bits of info about the second season including the first pic and the first teaser. Now, there’s a brand new teaser for the season which debuted during the season premiere of Breaking Bad Sunday night and we’ve got it for you right here.

In this new video we see our main man Rick Grimes in action as he deals with some unwanted attention from a couple of the undead. Needless to say he’s not a fan of them and takes care of business. Good to see him back in action.

Check out the teaser after the jump. The Walking Dead returns to AMC in October. Not. Soon. Enough.

First Teaser for ‘Walking Dead’ Season 2 Hits The Web

by Matt Raub, Jul 8 2011 // 8:00 AM

It feels like years since Robert Kirkman and Frank Darabont’s visionary zombie drama The Walking Dead left the air until season two. But that only means that we’re getting closer to the second season, with twice the zombies, and twice the zombie killing!!

In a recent interview with creator and series writer Robert Kirkman, he stated that there will be a much bigger story arch this season, as well as some new and familiar characters returning. One thing we learned from both the comic series and the AMC adaptation is that not a single person is safe, and anyone can die at any time.

With shooting currently underway in Atlanta, GA, there will be lots of footage for us to drool over in the coming weeks (possibly Comic-Con?). But in the meantime, we’ve got the very first teaser trailer for season 2, which has got some good old fashioned slow-motion zombie killing.

Check out the full teaser after the jump, and be sure to keep an eye out in the next few weeks as we bring you more content and scoops from the show, leading up to their season premiere this October on AMC.

Season 2 of ‘Walking Dead’ Shoot Delays Traffic with Zombie Warnings

by Matt Raub, Jun 10 2011 // 8:00 AM

It’s rare that a show puts together an awesome idea long before they even release a trailer for the new season. That’s pretty much what’s happening with AMC’s second season of the critically acclaimed adaptation of The Walking Dead.

Down in Atlanta, where the show currently shoots and takes place, the roads are slowed due to a certain zombie outbreak. You tell us if this isn’t one of the scariest road signs you’ve ever seen on the highway. Here’s the official report.

Police in Cobb County are warning drivers to be on guard for a zombie outbreak as filming of the hit drama series “The Walking Dead” begins there. They plan to post two message boards on a busy thoroughfare.

First Pic from ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Two Arrives

by Chris Ullrich, Jun 8 2011 // 12:30 PM

With anticipation for season two of AMC’s The Walking Dead growing each day, it’s nice to know the show is now back in production and filming. To help get fans even more excited for the next season, AMC has just released a first-look photo from the upcoming season.

The show is currently filming in Atlanta and it seems, at least from the following quote, that Frank Darabont could not be happier about it:

“At this moment, I’m standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew.”

Thanks Mr. Darabont, we’re pretty happy you guys are back to work too. Now, please try not to mess the show up. Okay?

Click through to check out the pic. The Walking Dead returns to AMC with all-new episodes later this year.

Details Released For ‘The Walking Dead’ On Blu-Ray and DVD

by Matt Raub, Jan 6 2011 // 10:30 AM

Lots of things were considered to be “big deals” in 210, but by far, the most important pop culture event has to be AMC’s first season of The Walking Dead. The show pulled in the highest ratings of a cable based show of all time, not to mention the fact that it was about zombies, and had a regularly unknown cast.

Now, everyone everywhere can relive the epic 6-episode season again and again, as Anchor Bay and Starz is releasing the season on Blu-Ray and DVD this March. It’s already been nominated for a Golden Globe, but that’s only the surface of the accolades you can expect to see for the series in the future. Here’s what you can expect to see on the discs.

Over 6 Million Watch ‘Walking Dead’ Finale

by Matt Raub, Dec 7 2010 // 7:00 AM

There you have it. Sunday night’s finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead may have had us in a tight little ball of tension for an hour, but it was one of the highest rated cable programs in history. This can only mean great things for Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, and the whole team at AMC. Here’s the breakdown:

Six million viewers tuned in for the show’s sixth episode, including four million adults 18-49. That’s up 9% from last week — which was also a series high.

If you include the show’s 11 p.m. encore, the finale delivered a whopping 8.1 million viewers.

All told, Walking Dead has become, according to AMC, the most-watched basic cable series of all time in the young adult demo.

Who would’ve thought that zombies in Atlanta would be the one uniting factor for people across the country? Apparently AMC did, as they’re already excited for a new 14-episode season to pick back up in October of next year.

The Blu-Ray and DVD release is currently set to hit shelves on March 8th of next year, so be prepared.
